The horror thriller 11-11-11 from writer/director Darren Bousman (out on DVD on April 24th) follows famed American author Joseph Crone (Timothy Gibbs) who travels to Barcelona, Spain, after the tragic death of his wife and child, to reunite with his estranged brother, Samuel (Michael Landes), and dying father, Richard (Denis Rafter). As Joseph’s life becomes plagued with strange happenings and constant sightings of the number 11, curiosity quickly turns to obsession over its horrific meaning.
During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Darren Bousman talked about how the idea for this film came about, the behind-the-scenes feature about the haunted nature of everything during the shoot, some of the craziest things that happened on set, and how he almost quit a couple of times. He also talked about how happy he is that Mother’s Day (starring Rebecca DeMornay) is finally being released on May 4th, his latest musical endeavor The Devil’s Carnival, his upcoming Jersey Devil monster movie The Barrens, and how he would love the opportunity to make bring the V.C. Andrews book The Flowers in the Attic to life on the big screen. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

The theatrical trailer for the horror film 11-11-11 has been unveiled. From Saw II director Darren Lynn Bousman, the pic tells the story of how at 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate of Heaven will open up and an otherworldly entity will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes. Judging from the trailer, some demon-like thingy and some other creepy beings will bring about absolute terror for the duration of the film. While I’m not entirely sold on the project, I do like that it appears to rely heavily on prosthetics and make-up as opposed to CGI effects.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film stars Timothy Gibbs (Another World), Michael Landes (Final Destination 2), and Wendy Glenn (The L Word). 11-11-11 opens on, well, November 11th.

Let’s talk about numbers for a minute. People can become obsessed with them, like Jim Carrey in The Number 23 or Sean Gullette in Pi. Sometimes, those numbers refer to dates, as in 666 for the 2006 remake of The Omen, which opened on June 6th, or 2012 which refers to the Mayan end-of-the-world prophecy. Darren Bousman (Saw II, III and IV) combines the two numerical novelties in his new apocalyptic horror film, 11-11-11. The original trailer we showed you earlier this year seems like a mash-up of scenes of movies that deal with religion, divination through numbers and preventing the apocalypse. However, a new teaser trailer that just popped up today hints that the director is approaching the marketing, at least, with a lighter touch. Hit the jump to check out the trailer.

Writer/director Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II) has released the first trailer from his upcoming horror/thriller 11-11-11. Starring Michael Landes, Wendy Glenn, and Timothy Gibbs, the pic takes place on 11-11-11 and features an otherworldly entity that comes to Earth through Heaven’s 11th gate. After watching the cut, I’m not exactly sure why I should be afraid of 11-11-11 but, I’ll be honest, I sort of am. Check out the trailer after the jump. I’ll give you one guess as to what day 11-11-11 hits theaters.

Direct Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, and IV) is set to helm the horror-thriller 11 11 11, which is about the “11:11 phenomenon”. According to Heat Vision, “The 11:11 movement is centered on the emergence of that number in people’s lives that alerts them to angels or spirit guardians trying to communicate with them. Conspiracy theorists also point to the number 11′s involvement in historical events.” The “11″ conspiracy theorists should get together with the “23″ conspiracy theorists and make the “34″ conspiracy theorists. Or they could all just realize that numerology is hokum.
But here’s the best reason for a movie to exist: Producer Wayne Rice (Valentine’s Day) saw that November 11, 2011 fell on a Friday and he wanted a movie to come out on that day. Hit the jump for more on this hilarious project.
