Thousands of folks sat in Hall H all of last Saturday for one reason: to see the Marvel presentation. The crowd was hungry for a first look at Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, and (in the worst kept secret of the Con) the cast of The Avengers. Now, Marvel has put up video of brief moment from the panels and signings for Captain America and Thor online. They’ve also thrown up the tail-end of the introduction of The Avengers cast, but it won’t capture how nuts the crowd went at this moment. It was the perfect way to wrap up all three days of Hall H at Comic-Con. Everyone was on their feet and cheering their lungs out. You’ll hear that in the video, but there’s no substitute for the electricity of the room during the grand finale of the presentation.
Hit the jump to check out snippets of the panels (but not the footage that was shown). Thor opens on May 6, 2011 and you can click here to read our coverage of the panel. Captain America: The First Avenger opens on July 22, 2011 and you can click here to read our coverage of this panel. Finally, The Avengers is set to open on May 4, 2012 and you can read our coverage of that announcement here.

Based on all of the Comic-Con coverage you’ve read here on Collider, you should know by now that there are millions of reasons to make it out to Comic-Con if you ever get the chance. You get the opportunity to interact with all of your favorite and most beloved fictional characters, as well as all of the people responsible for bringing them into your lives.
And without a doubt, the most beloved fictional character of all time is Pacey Witter of Dawson’s Creek. Which is why, if you were present at Comic-Con this year, you may have noticed another convention overshadowing it. The people over at FunnyOrDie and actor Joshua Jackson have provided a very special behind-the-scenes look at the magic that made Pacey-Con 2010 the incredibly popular event that it was. It’s almost as if people forgot that Comic-Con was even in town. With any luck, Joshua Jackson will move forward with a Charlie Conway-Con in 2011. Hit the jump to check out the pure comedic brilliance.

All 15,000 Preview Night-plus four-day badges for the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con are sold out, according to to the convention’s official website. But those eager to attend next year’s comic book extravaganza shouldn’t flip out. Tickets for the general public aren’t on sale yet. Event goers this year were allowed first access to pre-register for tickets, and the Preview Night badges went fast. In fact, according to a report by The North County Times, they were completely gone by Sunday at 3 P.M. For clarity’s sake, I think this definitely deserves a little bit more explanation.
First, understand that they will still have four-day badges on sale in August. The badges that sold out were the four-day badges with access to Preview Night on Wednesday, which allows attendees to get in early before the events truly kick off on Thursday. Second, know that this year was the first to have Preview Night limited to a certain amount of people. Previously, people with four-day badges were given the special privilege to get into the convention center before anyone else. However, as attendance has seen a rapid spike in the past few years, they decided to cap the access to make sure those that wanted to roam the exhibit hall had a chance to do so in significantly less crowded conditions. Hit the jump for more news about what lies in store for Comic-Con in 2011 and beyond, and what it was like to roam the exhibit hall this year on Preview Night.

Marvel put props from Thor and Captain America on the exhibitor’s floor this past weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con. While Captain America’s shield and the helmets of Thor, Odin, and Loki are no big surprise, what was eye-catching is the Infinity Gauntlet. The weapon, which is one of the most powerful in the Marvel Universe, is actually not from the Thor or Captain America comics, but rather from the world of Silver Surfer. You can click over to Wikipedia to learn more about it. The gauntlet will feature in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. Much like the Cosmic Cube seen in the Captain America footage, it’s one of Odin’s most treasured items. Could it be the item that Red Skull found in the box at the end of the clip we saw? As best as I can remember, I don’t remember seeing it in the Thor trailer we saw.
Hit the jump to check out the photos of the props. Thor opens on May 6, 2011 and Captain America opens on July 22, 2011.

Hall H is where the biggest pop culture names of the San Diego Comic-Con go to show their stuff and build crucial word-of-mouth. And while it’s neat to see exclusive footage, trailers, and actors and filmmakers interact directly with the fans, it can get to be a little bit much at times.
After sitting in Hall H all day today, I was feeling pretty drained. But when the day’s closing panel for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the panel I had been looking forward to more than any other at Comic-Con this year, finally arrived, all my fatigue vanished and all my energy was restored. had just started. Whether you were excited for the movie or not, co-writer and director Edgar Wright and his gigantic cast gave a hell of a show with one hell of a surprise. Hit the jump to find out what went down at the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World panel.

Hollywood is an odd town where sometimes the most obscure ideas suddenly become hot properties with two or more studios racing to produce films with similar if not identical concepts. The latest iteration of this phenomenon is The Three Musketeers with competing projects from Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil) at Summit and Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) at Warner Brothers.
While Liman’s film appears to have stalled for now, Anderson’s 3D variation on the classic Alexandre Dumas tale is moving forward with a 2011 release date. Read on for your first look at the logo and a quick recap of the project’s status. Hit the jump to see the image in high-resolution.

The Comic-Con poster for Troy Nixey’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is one you’re going to want to track down if you’re at the convention this year. Nixey’s a comic book artist so he drew up a poster that does away with bland and goes for something unique. And not only should this poster be on your radar, but also the film itself since Guillermo del Toro co-wrote the script and is a producer on the flick. I don’t think I need to do any more to sell you on the film. Nixey and del Toro will be providing a first look at the film’s panel in Hall H on Friday at 2:15.
For those who need a brief refresh on what the movie is about, Dark centers around a young girl (Played by Bailee Madison) who is sent to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the old mansion they are renovating. Hit the jump to check out the poster. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is set to open on January 21, 2011. [Update: There's also a new image, which you can also check out after the jump]

Yet another Thor image has hit the web in advance of the film’s highly-anticipated panel on Saturday at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The image shows off Thor (Chris Hemsworth) pulling his trusty hammer Mjolner out from a pile of stone. Oh, and he’s dripping wet and covered in grime while he’s doing it. Just because you’re trying to save the world, doesn’t mean you can’t look sexy while doing it. In fact, it’s encouraged.
Of course, the high-anticipation comes with an even greater risk of letting the fans down. Hit the jump for what director Kenneth Branagh and Hemsworth are saying in advance of Comic-Con. The previously released images are here, here, and here. Thor is set to open on May 6, 2011.

The animated adaptation of Eric Powell’s popular paranormal-crime/comedy/sci-fi/horror comic The Goon will be showing off its stuff at Comic-Con on Friday. You can now check out a 30-second teaser of the footage Blur Studios will be showing of the film. The film features the voices of Paul Giamatti and Clancy Brown and was produced by David Fincher. The film’s panel will feature Powell, Giamatti, and Fincher. While Giamatti and Fincher would be reason enough to attend, I was told by people who went to The Goon panel last year that it was hilarious and one of the best of the Con.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser and to learn more about the film. The Goon panel will take place on Friday, July 23rd at 6pm in Room 24ABC.

With Comic-Con only five days away (four if you count Preview Night), everyone is planning out their schedules and making a list of what they want to see the most. Collider and our fellow movie websites will be bringing you so much coverage that it’s almost like you’ll be at the Con (to fully re-create the experience, go stand in a line for eight hours).
Our friends over at UGO asked us and some of our peers what we were looking forward to the most at this year’s Con. Personally, while I find that all the superhero movies set to premiere are all well and good, the flicks that are at the top of my list are Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Sucker Punch, and Paul. But what I’m really excited for is finding out which films are going to come out of nowhere and grab everyone’s attention. I also look forward to the painfully-awkward audience Q&A that follows every panel. Hit the jump to find out what’s grabbing the attention of other geeks around the web. And if you’re also attending this year’s Con, sound off in the comments section to let us know what’s at the top of your must-see list.

Walking the convention floor at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, you’ll most likely pick up a lot of swag and make a lot of purchases. And Warner Bros. has the solution for all that you will own from this Con: an over-sized bag. I still have the Watchmen one I picked up at the 2008 convention. It holds almost every other bag I own. If you’re wearing it over your shoulder, the bag stretches down to your ankle.
Warner Bros. has released images of the bags they’ll be giving out this year. There will be 11 different bags this year and they’ll be handing them out individually rather than being stampeded by individual Con-goers. The only different between them is the movie or TV show that’s being promoted. Hit the jump to see the bags featuring Clash of the Titans DVD/Blu-ray, The Looney Tunes Show, Batman: The Brave and the Bold videogame, Brightest Day, and Smallville/Supernatural. They’ll also be handing out bags promoting The Big Bang Theory, Fringe, Human Target, Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, and Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated. It should be noted that the Smallville/Supernatural bag is smaller, but will only be available at Warner Bros.’ booth (#4545).

Mark Ruffalo is reportedly in late-stage negotiations with Marvel Studios to play The Hulk in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers. After this past weekend’s announcements that Edward Norton would not be returning to play the Hulk, the studio has been trying to sign a new actor ASAP. Marvel wants the main cast together when they make their “surprise” annoucement regarding The Avengers at their Comic-Con presentation on Saturday in Hall H. The Avengers is set to star Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow). Mike Fleming at Deadline observes (and I agree): “Like Edward Norton, whom he’d be replacing, Ruffalo would bring real chops to the role. But, unlike Edward Norton, he wouldn’t an on-set asshole.”
Hit the jump for other reasons why I think Ruffalo would be a pretty fantastic choice.

A remixed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World trailer has landed online. It’s the first in a series of remixed trailers by DJ Osymyso. Osymyso previously created “Spaced Jam” for the DVD release of Edgar Wright’s Spaced. Both this trailer and “Spaced Jam” involve sampling lines of dialogue and turning them into fresh beats. And the beat of this new Scott Pilgrim trailer (entitled “Prepare”) is that the League of Evil Exes wants to beat the life out of Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). I look forward to checking out future installments of this series. I also look forward to the release of the final book in the series, Scott Pilgrim Finest Hour, on July 20th, and to the film’s panel at Comic-Con on July 22nd, and the video game on August 10th, and when the movie hits theaters on August 13th.
