Having taken a couple weeks off for the summer and the content-generating machine that is San Diego Comic-Con, I kind of feel like there’s so much to share that I’m not sure where to start. I suppose at the top is the most logical choice and, for me, that spot is occupied by director James Wan‘s fantastic The Conjuring. Alongside The Cabin in the Woods, The Conjuring stands as some of the most fun I can remember having in a theater with a horror film. It’s terrifying, tense, and awesome to enjoy amongst a crowded theater that’s on edge to the point that so much as an on-screen crayon rolling across the floor is cause for clenched fists and covered eyes. If you’ve yet to check it out, convince someone you think will appreciate being scared to death to tag along with you and enjoy the ride.
My recommendation aside, this week’s glorious return of the Top 5 includes a ridiculous amount of Comic-Con 2013 coverage, The Wolverine interviews with Hugh Jackman and more, new trailers for Alfonso Cuaron‘s Gravity, news of JCVD essentials Kickboxer and Bloodsport getting the remake treatment, and the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival line-up announcement. It’s been a couple weeks, but I trust you know what lies after the jump.
Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SUV will be returning for its third season on July 25th. The absurd, and often times hilarious show, will bring back the National Terrorism Strike Force team once again as they continue to hunt down terrorists while gleefully riffing on every possible movie and television cliché. The new season will also see the team travel to London for a special movie event (which will just actually be a 30 minute episode) that will find the group having to team up with their London counterparts in what is sure to be an especially memorable episode. Collider was able to sit down for a roundtable interview with series creator/star Paul Scheer, executive producer Jonathan Stern, and new cast member Karen Gillan where the trio talked about what fans can expect from the new season and much more.
