Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice isn’t due out until March 25, 2016, but is it possible we could see a teaser trailer this fall?  There’s an outlet reporting that the very first Batman v Superman teaser is finished and that it could be attached to a film coming out soon.

Which film?  They can’t confirm, but if this rumor is true, I’d put my money on another Warner Bros. release, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.  Hit the jump for more on this Batman v Superman teaser trailer rumor.

Apparently now that Warner Bros. has unveiled the release dates for its DC movie slate, the stars can start talking about the films – to a degree.  Just yesterday we shared some quotes from Jason Momoa on Aquaman and now we’ve got Ray Fisher talking Cyborg, too.

The guy doesn’t have a single feature film credit to his name, but soon enough, he’ll have two pretty big ones – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League Part One.  On top of that, much to Fisher’s surprise, he’s getting a Cyborg standalone movie, too.  Hit the jump to find out which Justice League members Fisher has met and what it was like to first find he’s getting a solo movie mere hours before the Warner Bros./DC release date announcement hit.

We got some solid reports claiming that Jason Momoa was set to take the role of Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back in June, but now that Warner Bros. has confirmed it via that enormous release date announcement, Momoa himself is finally allowed to talk about it.

While at Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, Momoa discussed the super secretive casting process, why he’s so pumped to take on the role and how he’s prepping for the 2018 Aquaman solo movie.  On top of that, Momoa also confirm that the character will appear in the first Justice League movie.  Hit the jump for more.

You might have noticed some Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice news floating around courtesy of an extra who chose to break his signed confidentiality agreement today, but now we’ve finally got a more concrete report that doesn’t call for Warner Bros. to file lawsuit.

Apparently multiple sources have confirmed that Jena Malone is indeed in the film, but there’s no word on whether or not she’s actually portraying a female version of Batman’s sidekick, Robin.  Hit the jump for more on Malone’s involvement in the film.  Batman v Superman is due in theaters on March 25, 2016 and also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy and Jeremy Irons.

Superhero Movie Release Dates: From 2015 to 2020

superhero-movie-release-dates

There’s no denying that the most popular genre around these days is that of the superhero movie.  Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy proved that comic book adaptations could be just as dramatic and heavy as non-genre films, Marvel Studios jumpstarted a massive interconnected series of superhero movies that were significantly more colorful and humorous, and audiences have been turning out to both kinds of superhero movies in droves.  With every major studio now working to turn its own comic book properties into the next big thing, it’s sometimes tough to keep track of what’s coming out when, who’s in it, and how it fits into the overall picture.  Not to worry, though, because we here at Collider have you covered.

After the jump, you’ll find a comprehensive guide of superhero movie release dates for every major comic book adaptation on the calendar, going all the way up to the year 2020.  Moreover, we’ll be updating this guide regularly with the most current information, so if you’re ever looking for the latest news on a specific film, you can come right back here for a quick overview.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice crew has started constructing a large set in the desert in New Mexico.  What could it be?  Your guess is much better than mine in this case, so please speculate away in the comments.  It could be Themyscira, the home of Wonder Woman.

Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jeremy Irons star in the superhero faceoff directed by Zack SnyderBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016.  Hit the jump for a glimpse of the New Mexico structure.

Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara has been announcing a slew of news regarding the studio’s plans.  Among his announcements is the reveal that The Flash standalone movie is coming in 2018 and will star Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower).  This reveal firmly establishes that the DC Movie Universe will be completely separate from the DC TV Universe since the new CW series The Flash stars Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster.  Additionally, this new Flash movie will come after Zack Snyder‘s Justice League Part One, which is due out in 2017.

Producer Charles Roven Says Ben Affleck Was the First Choice to Play Batman in BATMAN V SUPERMAN; Wanted Someone Who Could “Tower Over” Superman

Producer Charles Roven recently took part in an extended interview at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, and his comments with regards to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are quite interesting.  We already shared what he had to say about Wonder Woman’s origin story earlier today, but more of the interview has now surfaced online, offering up even more revealing tidbits about director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel follow-up.  Roven says that Ben Affleck was the first actor they approached to play Batman in the pic, adding that they were looking for someone who could physically tower over Superman and play a “very, very, very rough” version of Batman.

Additionally, Roven talked a bit about Christopher Nolan’s involvement in Batman v Superman, saying he’s acting in an “advisory capacity” on the film.  Much more after the jump.

Wonder Woman’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Origin Revealed; Ben Affleck Is “Team Batfleck”

by     Posted 11 days ago

batman-v-superman-wonder-woman

Wonder Woman is a popular character by name but not by history.  If you were to ask someone about Batman’s origin story, they would probably know his parents were murdered so he learned crime was bad.  If you were to ask someone about Superman’s origin story, they would probably know that his planet blew up and he was raised by good-hearted Midwesterners.  But ask people about Wonder Woman’s origin, and you’ll probably get confused looks.  It’s the result of Wonder Woman lacking the ubiquity of her male counterparts, and to be fair, plenty of non-geeks are probably just as ignorant of many superheroes’ origins.  However, those superheroes are rarely set next to two of the most famous superheroes of all-time.

Because Wonder Woman’s origin is mostly unknown, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has room to play with it as opposed Superman or Batman where the confines are strictly mandated by geek culture.  Geeks don’t care as much about Wonder Woman, and so her original origin is being tossed out for something more “modern” and “realistic”.  Hit the jump for more.

Ben Affleck Disses DAREDEVIL; Explains Why BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Will Be Better

by     Posted 18 days ago

When Ben Affleck was announced to play Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the news was met with the inevitable uninformed backlash.  Part of this backlash came from the fact that Affleck’s previous superhero movie, Daredevil, wasn’t good, and therefore he must be kept away from all superhero movies whatsoever until the rest of time.  While Affleck doesn’t sympathize with these people, he does recognize that Daredevil kind of sort of sucked.

During an appearance on NRP’s All Things Considered, Affleck said “Indeed I have regrets about Daredevil,” and “Look, if I thought we were remaking Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself.”  He explained that his frustration came from “exacting standards” and “I want to do excellent work and I don’t always succeed, but I think you have to start out with that drive.”  Hit the jump for what he says drove him to play Batman.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jeremy Irons, and opens on March 25, 2016.

Interest in superhero movies is at a fever pitch, so it’s no surprise that a flood of video and photos from the set of the now-filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will continue to flow so long as cameras are rolling.  Zack Snyder knew exactly what he was doing when he recently unveiled the new Batmobile in full, because Snyder and his crew are currently shooting a number of scenes on the streets of Detroit that feature Bruce Wayne’s new wheels.  A rather lengthy piece of video of the aforementioned Batmobile “in action” has now surfaced, giving fans the opportunity to take a look at the car from a variety of angles.  It’s admittedly a very tame piece of video, and it doesn’t even feature any actual filming, but for those who are curious to see more of the Batmobile’s practical applications it might be of interest.

Take a look at the latest Batman v Superman Batmobile video after the jump.  The film stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jeremy IronsBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.

The STAR WARS: EPISODE VII and BATMAN V SUPERMAN War Continues with a First Official Look at the Return of the Millennium Falcon

Directors J.J. Abrams and Zack Snyder have been going back-and-forth online by parodying their respective blockbusters, Star Wars: Episode VII and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  Snyder struck the most recent blow by showing a Stormtrooper getting arrested for hi-jacking Batman’s ride.  Abrams has retorted in a way that will be tough to top.  He’s stolen the Batmobile back and placed it on the underside of the Millennium Falcon.  And this isn’t just a cutesy little model.  This is a real shot of the Millennium Falcon with a huge pan and everything.

Hit the jump to check out the Star Wars: Episode VII Millennium Falcon video featuring the Batmobile.  It’s now your move, Mr. Snyder.  May I suggest putting Batman behind the wheel of a Star Destroyer?  Star Wars: Episode VII opens December 18, 2015.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN Video Sends the Batmobile on a Chase

The past week, Batman v Superman news has been all about the Batmobile, and that trend continues with new video.  Instagram user shiva_honey captured some video of the Batmobile speeding down the street in a high speed chase, and I have to say I’m impressed.  It’s a big, clunky vehicle and yet it handles corner without missing a beat.  However, I love the second video where the Batmobile is presumable returning to its starting point, and the music overlaying the return is Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice”.  It would amuse me to no end if they used that music in the movie by having Batman playing it on the radio.  You can still fight crime while listening to Doggystyle.

Most of the Avengers know how to have some fun and the Guardians of the Galaxy certainly enjoy their fair share of messing around, but Batman’s a different story.  Bruce Wayne makes an effort to be cordial and dishes out the occasional smile, but Batman is all business all the time, so between that, his demeanor and his growl, he can come across as a pretty angry guy.

While discussing playing the Caped Crusader in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck spoke to Batman’s anger issues and connected them to his own.  Hit the jump to find out how Affleck relates to Batman’s rage.  Batman v Superman hits theaters on March 25, 2016 and also stars Henry CavillGal GadotJesse EisenbergAmy AdamsLaurence FishburneJason MomoaHolly HunterScoot McNairy and Jeremy Irons.

New BATMAN V SUPERMAN Batmobile Image Charges a Stormtrooper with Grand Theft Auto

Filmmaker Zack Snyder continues to make excellent use of social media when it comes to teasing fans, with the latest being a new Batman v Superman Batmobile image with yet another Star Wars tie-in.  This is the third such Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Star Wars mash-up, as Snyder previously tweeted a photo of Henry Cavill dressed as a Jedi and another photo of Batman hanging out with R2-D2.  This new image offers another look at Ben Affleck’s formidable-looking Batmobile, as a Stormtrooper is seen being arrested by GCPD for the theft of said vehicle.  It’s clearly a joke, but Snyder seems to be laying on the Star Wars love pretty thick.  Is he simply a big fan, or could those long-ago rumors of a Snyder-helmed Star Wars spinoff have some truth to them?  Whatever the case, the filmmaker’s tied up in the DC universe for the next few years as he’s poised to shoot Justice League directly after BvS.

Take a look at the new Batman v Superman Batmobile image after the jump.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice storms into theaters on March 25, 2016.
