With director Chris Wedge’s animated adventure comedy Epic set to debut at the end of May, we were recently granted a behind-the-scenes preview of the Blue Sky and 20th Century Fox production.  While the trailer gives a nice idea of the world the film exists in, the footage we were shown – some of it still a work in progress – was absolutely beautiful.  On a storytelling note, many have drawn comparisons between Epic and that of 1992′s FernGully: The Last Rainforest and 1989′s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and those comments are certainly not unfounded.  Though Epic is aimed at audiences too young to have seen either of those films when they opened, there is much more to the story here than just a rehashing of familiar elements.

New Trailer for EPIC Featuring the Voices of Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, and Colin Farrell

A new trailer has been released for the animated film, Epic.  The story tells of a hidden land deep in the forest where the battle between the forces of good and evil continues under our very noses.  A teenage girl is magically transported into their secret universe by shrinking down to their size, where she must combine forces with an assortment of colorful characters in order to save both worlds.  This trailer doesn’t give me much hope for the movie.  The main focus is “Look at all the celebrities we gathered to do voice work!”  Instead, that voice work comes off particularly distracting at points since I’m not seeing characters but seeing Aziz Ansari and Christoph Waltz in a recording booth.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film also features the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Blake Anderson, Judah Friedlander, and Beyoncé KnowlesEpic opens in 3D on May 24th.

Workaholics Adam Devine Blake Anderson Anders Holm Kyle Newacheck

Comedy Central’s hit single-camera comedy series Workaholics, recently renewed for Seasons 4 and 5, tells the story of three friends who live, work and party together 24/7.  Even though they sometimes do their jobs well, they’re more concerned with sleeping in, getting drunk and partying like there’s no tomorrow.

During this exclusive interview with Collider, while they were at the Comedy Central portion of the TCA Press Tour, creator/actors Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck (who also directs the show) talked about how surreal the success of the show is, that they always had the goal of doing a TV show but that there were several attempts that fell through, the moment they realized just how many people were actually watching the show, and what fans can expect from the all-new episodes they have airing on Wednesday nights.  Check out what they had to say after the jump.

A new trailer for the 20th Century Fox animated film Epic has been released.  The story tells of a hidden land deep in the forest where the battle between the forces of good and evil continues under our very noses.  A teenage girl is magically transported into their secret universe by shrinking down to their size, where she must combine forces with an assortment of colorful characters in order to save both worlds.  The pic still looks a little like Ferngully 2013, but I’m not entirely sure that’s a bad thing.  There’s more humor in this trailer than in the first, and the “miniaturized” story device should provide for some fun set pieces in the forest.

Hit the jump to watch the new trailer.  The film features the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz, Beyonce Knowles, Pitbull, Jason Sudeikis, Steven Tyler, Aziz Ansari, Blake Anderson, and Judah FriedlanderEpic opens in 3D on May 24, 2013.

It’s strange to think that the same show that was cancelled for a lack of viewers six years ago is now having to field eager paparazzi interested in snapping shots of the actors on set.  Nevertheless, the first images from the set of the fourth season of Arrested Development have hit the interwebs.  They’re not much, but for those of us obsessed with finding out what the Bluth family has been up to all this time, shots of David Cross characteristically wrapped up in a body sheet are pretty damn tantalizing.  Moreover, it looks like Workaholics stars Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine and Anders Holm make an appearance in an early episode.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  Cross, Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter and Jeffrey Tambor all return for the new season of Arrested Development, which will premiere on Netflix sometime next year.

Comedy Central Orders Third Season of WORKAHOLICS

by     Posted 1 year, 238 days ago

Comedy Central announced today a pre-emptive order for yet another season of Workaholics, the hilarious new comedy series currently in the middle of its second season. A surprisingly funny, and outrageous comedy series, this is one of my favorite new series that seems to be gaining a lot of ground with viewers. Complete with 90′s pop culture references, reckless behavior, ridiculous mishaps and a fantastic trio of main characters composed of Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Anders Holm, Workaholics is easily one of the best original series Comedy Central has had in awhile. Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production at Comedy Central says, “We feel like the show is one, big public service announcement, teaching the youth of America how to engage with the workplace.” Offices would be much more interesting with this trio around, and a third season is just want the doctor ordered.
