For the past year or so, Limited Paper’s been wondering which gallery would be the first to announce an “all Glow-in-The-Dark” show.  Indeed, if we consider GID’s rise in popularity over the past year or two, such a showcase seems inevitable.   But just because the idea’s an obvious one doesn’t guarantee that it’d result in success: more than any other factor, an all-GID show would almost certainly live or die based on the artists hired to participate.

Turns out, there was nothing to worry about: our friends at NYC’s Bottleneck Gallery have pulled the trigger on an all-GID showcase, and–based on the preview images we’ve been cleared to share with you today—Bottleneck understood just how crucial hiring the right artists would be.  Wanna see new (and GID-infused!) posters from Craig Drake, Godmachine, Bruce Yan, and a slew of others?  Meet me after the jump, folks.

Limited Paper Exclusive: Mark Englert Holds Onto The (Glow-in-The-Dark) Throne With a Stunning New GAME OF THRONES Poster

On April 12th, NYC’s Bottleneck Gallery will open When The Lights Go Out, a sprawling showcase featuring nothing but GID (Glow-in-The-Dark)-enhanced artwork.  It’s a great concept for a show (just imagine an entire gallery’s worth of new posters lit solely with blacklights), and from the beginning we knew that Bottleneck Gallery would amass a giant roster of talented artists to pull it off…but for our money, the whole thing wouldn’t have felt complete without the involvement of Mark Englert.

And—well, whatta ya know—it turns out that Mark Englert’s contribution to When The Lights Go Out is even more impressive in its use of GID than we expected it to be.  It may, in fact, be his best GID piece to date.  See it for yourselves after the jump, folks.

by     Posted: April 2nd, 2013 at 5:26 pm

We’re headed into the fourth month of 2013, and so far it seems like there’s been no slowing the pace set by galleries, artists, and fine screenprint retailers everywhere back in 2012:  it’s only two days into April, and already a number of impressive-looking gallery shows (and a Mondo screening in Kansas City) have been announced, including Spoke Art’s Scorsese-themed showcase, Mondo’s Mike Mitchell solo show, and Bottleneck Gallery’s Glow-in-The-Dark orgy, When The Lights Go Out.  Wanna find out when each of these shows will be opening its doors?  Meet me after the jump, folks.

As we speak, SXSW 2013 has turned downtown Austin into an absolute war zone:  traffic’s backed up all the way to Oklahoma, pedestrians everywhere are being run down by hipsters on fixed-gear bikes, and—perhaps most distressingly—rumors persist that as many as two hundred SXSW Film badgeholders  senselessly wasted hours of their lives watching a film called Big-Ass Spider.  Truly, it has been a harrowing week.

But up in New York City, our friends at Bottleneck Gallery are about to kick off a preview sale for their first-ever solo show, an event comprised entirely of artwork by UK artist Raid71 they’re calling The Popular Face of New York.  What sorta prints are going to be available for purchase, and when can you pick a few of them up?  Find out after the jump.

There’s zero empirical evidence to back up the theory, but here at Limited Paper we tend to think that there aren’t a lot of hard-core collectors out there with big Valentine’s Day plans.  Quite frankly, when the vast majority of your spending money is being pushed towards one fancifully-colored 24x36” sheet of paper after another, there isn’t much budget left for schmoozing the ladies (or the gents, if that’s your thing).  Sure, you could’ve bought her that diamond-encrusted toaster she’s always wanted, but there’s something like 400 prints dropping this week:  one has to prioritize.

But what if you have a significant other…and they’re also into poster collecting?  Well, good news, buddy:  Bottleneck Gallery’s Get a Room (opening in NYC this Friday) is filled with a ton of romantic, movie-themed posters your guy or gal will be jazzed to have hanging on their wall, and we’ve got preview pics for you (including new work from Craig Drake, Godmachine, and Cuyler Smith) after the jump.

Yes, gallery shows are still coming fast and furious in 2013, and this week brings us another new one:  Bottleneck Gallery’s Gizmos and Gadgets opens this Friday, and—from the looks of the preview images sent over by our buddy Joe at the Gallery’s NYC location—it looks to be just as impressive as the work we saw from that Gallery throughout 2012.  Wanna see some amazing new artwork from Godmachine, Cuyler Smith, and Dave Perillo?  Find out when you can plan on getting a crack at purchasing some of this stuff online?  Meet me after the jump, folks.

Limited Paper: Bottleneck Gallery’s THE GANG’S ALL HERE Hits New York City Like a Giant Teleporting Space-Squid this Friday; See Preview Images Here!

by     Posted: November 15th, 2012 at 8:09 am

Here at Limited Paper, we’re big fans of the folks at NYC’s Bottleneck Gallery:  they’re quick to respond to email inquiries, always a pleasure to work with when coordinating coverage, and I almost never wake up in the middle of the night to find them looming over me naked, disoriented, and  brandishing a knife (unlike some Galleries we could mention).  This month, the Bottleneck guys have been hard at work getting back to “business as usual” in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and—as you might expect—that’s been quite the project.

Later this week, all that hard work pays off with the opening of Bottleneck’s latest Gallery show, a team-themed exhibition they’re calling The Gang’s All Here.  Wanna find out when you need to swing by Bottleneck Gallery this weekend, see some of what they’re selling, and learn where and when you can buy these prints if you’re not gonna be on-hand for the opening?  It’s all after the jump, folks.

Super Sized Limited Paper: Kevin Tong Does TRANSFORMERS, Bottleneck Gallery’s THE GANG’S ALL HERE Gets Teased, and Our Next Giveaway Revealed!

by     Posted: November 9th, 2012 at 3:46 pm

As we head into the final stretch of 2012, things aren’t slowing down in the slightest:  gallery shows are still coming fast and furious (our friends at Ltd Art Gallery just opened their latest show, and another open next week via our friends at Bottleneck Gallery), Mondo’s still churning out new stuff (an entire line of Uni Monsters prints designed by Jay Shaw was released earlier this week), and—meanwhile, closer to homebase—we’ve had more artists and galleries contacting us about doing giveaways through Limited Paper than ever before.  Indeed, if anything might be said about the current state of affairs in Poster World, it’s that things are only getting crazier.

Today, we’ve got news on a new Transformers piece from Kevin Tong, show you where you can still purchase one of Craig Drake’s The Hunger posters, and—last but not least—announce our latest giveaway (and offering clues on next week’s).  Ready to digest all that?  It’s all after the break in today’s super-sized Limited Paper, folks.
