Earlier this week Collider was invited to a special L.A. screening of The Frozen at the Arclight Hollywood. The psychological thriller stars Brit Morgan (True Blood), Noah Segan (Looper), and Seth David Mitchell. When Mike (Mitchel) and Emma (Morgan) head off to the mountains in search of a romantic getaway they find their trip strained by tension in the relationship, but after a snowmobile accident leaves them stranded they must work together to survive. Soon after, Mike goes missing, leaving Emma alone in the wilderness with a mysterious hunter (Segan) tracking her through the woods. Hit the jump for a look at the official synopsis, trailer, and poster for the film, as well as the five things I learned at the screening.
Cam Gigandet is joining the cast of the indie drama Free Ride. Written and directed by Shana Sosin, the indie drama tells the true story of an abused single mother in the 1970s who moves her two daughters to Florida to make a new life for herself. Anna Paquin stars as the mother, and also has a hand behind the scenes as Free Ride marks the first production for her production company SCAMP. Variety reports that Gigandet will play Paquin’s love interest. The film also stars Drea De Matteo (The Sopranos), Liana Liberato (Tresspass), Ava Acres (Five), Jeff Hephner (Hellcats) and Paquin’s fellow True Blood alum Brit Morgan. Paquin is producing alongside Cerise Hallam Larkin, Susan Dynner, and her husband/True Blood star Stephen Moyer. Production is set to begin later this month in Sarasota, Florida. Paquin will go straight into Free Ride after filming Straight A’s with Ryan Phillippe.
