Networks are preparing to unleash their fall shows, and ABC has one of the most-anticipated with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The network has released two new, vastly different promos. The first is Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) briefly and dryly describing the other main characters. You can almost hear Gregg groaning at the terrible copy. The other promo is a standard TV spot that does a much better job of quickly explaining the premise and showing off a bit of the action. It’s the one that makes September feel much further away.
Hit the jump to check out the promos. The series also stars Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Tuesday, September 24th at 8pm (EST).
The fall TV season will fast be upon us, and superhero geeks will likely be turning their attention to ABC’s new series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The expectations will be high, but I also assume there will be more patience with the show as it has to go through the standard motions of introducing the characters, the world, and trying to draw in an audience beyond genre fans. This is network television, and being niche isn’t good enough. That means an emphasis on case-of-the-week storytelling with little bits of character arcs and perhaps a larger story sprinkled throughout.
Hit the jump for what executive producer and pilot director Joss Whedon had to say about the show at the recent Television Critics Association press tour, and also see a poster featuring the eponymous Agents standing in front of a giant door. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday, September 24th at 8pm on ABC.
A couple weeks ago, Marvel showed off their pilot for the highly-anticipated new series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Today, they’ve released plenty of new images, and some that could be considered slight spoilers for fans who would enjoy a pleasant surprise when they see the pilot. But for the most part, these are images of lead actors Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
Hit the jump to check out the images (I’ve put the ones that could be considered spoilers near the end). Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday, September 24th at 8:00pm EST on ABC.
Earlier this week, we got our first look at the highly-anticipated new series, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The new series takes place after The Avengers, and has Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) leading a new team of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives against supernatural forces. Today, seven more seconds of precious footage have been released, and Coulson announces “Welcome to Level 7″. Some may wonder, “What is Level 7″? I wonder if these incredibly brief snippets of footage will be a consistent thing throughout the summer. If so, that’s incredibly obnoxious. The people who would watch seven seconds of footage are already going to see the show. Provide real trailers or keep the show under wraps (I suspect the next major look at the show will come during Comic-Con).
Hit the jump to watch seven seconds of footage because you’re already going to see the show. The series also stars also stars Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Chloe Bennet. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesdays this fall on ABC. [Update: ABC has released a full 3-minute trailer for the series, which is now included after the jump.]
Earlier today, we got a very brief look at Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and now the full trailer has been released. The new series takes place after The Avengers, and has Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) leading a new team of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives against supernatural forces. Watching the TV spot, I was reminded of Heroes, not in terms of story, but in how far we’ve come in terms of special effects and network TV budgets. And while there will certainly be some cool action on display, the closing joke is a welcome reminder of Joss Whedon‘s influence.

Now that ABC has officially picked up Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we’re starting to learn a lot more about the series. A few days ago we got the first synopsis, then the first image, and now ABC has released a very short teaser trailer for the show. With Joss Whedon having directed the pilot, and Marvel movies being extremely popular around the world, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was an easy bet for ABC. However, pilots are always a risk, so I’m beyond excited the show got picked up and in a few months we’ll be able to see a weekly Marvel show and it’s going to feature the return of Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson. Hit the jump to watch the footage.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. also stars Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet and it’ll premiere this fall. [UPDATE: Click here to watch the full trailer.]
Chloe Bennet (Nashville) will need to be fitted for either a pantsuit or a uniform. THR reports that the actress has joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series. Bennett will play the sixth and final regular on the series. The show also stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as “gruff rising star” Agent Grant Ward, Elizabeth Henstridge as science whiz Agent Gemma Simmons, and Ian De Caestecker as tech guru Agent Leo Fitz. Bennet has been cast as Skye, “a confident woman who is slightly obsessed with superhero culture and the shadow organizations that exist within it. She’s edgy and can out-talk anyone with her unflappable nature.” Since THR doesn’t list her as an agent, perhaps she won’t need a pantsuit or a uniform. Maybe a t-shirt with Iron Man on it will suffice.
