Over the past few months, we’ve heard a number of different titles (Fast Six, Furious 6) for the 6th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. But thanks to the studio releasing the first poster, we know it’s officially called Fast and Furious 6. While I understand the logic in that title, I think Furious 6 sounds a lot cooler.
As we learned the other day when we posted the synopsis, the new film has Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Hobbs recruits Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to help bring down the criminal outfit, and in exchange will provide pardons for the Rio heist. The film also stars Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Gina Carano. Hit the jump to check out the first poster and come back tomorrow to check out the first footage from the film.

We’re still not 100% sure if the new Fast & Furious movie is entitled “Fast & Furious 6” (it could be “Fast Six“, “Furious Six“, or maybe even my personal prediction, Fast Cars Go Boom Now), but no matter what it ends up being called, we now have the first synopsis. The new film has Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Hobbs recruits Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to help bring down the criminal outfit, and in exchange will provide pardons for the Rio heist.
Hit the jump for the full synopsis, and look out for the first trailer during the Super Bowl. The film also stars Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Gina Carano. Fast & Furious 6 opens May 24th.

Last week, we showed you some photos and videos from the set of Fast and Furious 6, and now more photos and videos have arrived online. Previously, we only saw some cars and a tank, but this time around we get a full-on crash (intentional, of course). It loses some of its majesty being shot from a spy-cam, but I’m sure director Justin Lin will cut it together to make it an exhilarating moment for fans of the franchise.
Hit the jump to check out images and video, although this could probably be considered a minor spoiler, so consider yourself warned. We’ve also included comments about the film from Ludacris, who is returning to play Tej Parker. The film also stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Joe Taslim, and Luke Evans. Fast and Furious 6 opens May 24, 2013.

Unless you’ve been living in the land of horse and buggies for the last ten years, you know that The Fast and the Furious franchise has dominated theaters with big muscles and bigger engines. With the fifth installment, Fast Five, ready to open in less than two weeks, a new interactive trailer has popped up that is chock full of extra gearhead information. Like, did you know that the car Vin Diesel and Paul Walker drive off the cliff is a 1966 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport? Or that Jordana Brewster looks smokin’ hot in a 1966 Ford GT40?
The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Tyrese Gibson, produced by Neal Moritz and directed by Justin Lin. Fast Five is set to be released on April 29th. Hit the jump to check out the new interactive trailer.

We have some quick casting stories for you this afternoon. First up, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges has joined Garry Marshall’s upcoming romantic comedy New Year’s Eve. The ever-expanding cast already includes (deep breath) Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Halle Berry, Jessical Biel, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Sienna Miller, Lea Michelle, Sofia Vergara, Abigail Breslin, Til Schweiger, Seth Meyes, Jon Bon Jovi, Josh Duhamel, and Carla Gugino. So where does Bridges fit into this collection of actors getting paid for what probably amounts to a few days work in under-developed storylines about people falling in and out of love on New Year’s Eve? According to THR, Bridges will play “a NYPD cop who is working with the director of the Times Square festivities (Swank).”
Bridges was recently one of the few redeeming aspects of No Strings Attached and he’ll next be seen reprising his character “Tej” in the new Fast and Furious movie, Fast Five. Hit the jump for casting news regarding Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay joining the remake of Gambit.

For the first time, the official synopsis for Fast Five is available for our viewing pleasure. While you may be thinking to yourself, “What’s there to know? Buff dudes drive amazingly sweet cars in cool locations,” the truth is that this synopsis is important for a couple of reasons:
- It features what is (to the best of my knowledge) the first “official” full confirmed cast list for the film.
- It seems to sure up any debate as to where Fast Five would fall in the time-line with regards to its predecessors. It clearly tells us it takes place after the last film.
Officially, Fast Five stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. To check out the synopsis, hit the jump. Fast Five is currently aiming for a June 10th, 2011 release.
