In a recent interview, Keanu Reeves (who is approaching 50 if you can believe that) dropped a few plot details about the in-development Bill & Ted 3.  We previously reported that Ed Solomon (Men in Black) and Chris Matheson’s (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) script had been finished up and Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) was attached to helm.  We already knew that Reeves and Alex Winter would be reprising their roles, but now we have an idea of what they’ll be doing in the threequel and the role that time travel plays.  Hit the jump to see what Reeves had to say.

It’s tough to believe that a third Bill & Ted movie is becoming a reality, but that seems to be the case.  We reported back in March that creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson had a finished script, and now Vulture reports that they’ve attached Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) to direct.  Solomon and Matheson wrote the script on spec in order to make sure that the new film wasn’t a reboot or a remake.  Keanu Reeves (Ted Theodore Logan) and Alex Winter (Bill S. Preston, Esq.) are both attached to return.

Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air) and John Francis Daley (Bones) are in talks to join Craig Robinson in the apocalypse comedy Rapturepalooza.   The story centers on a couple (presumably Kendrick and Daley) trying to run a sandwich shop after the Rapture has sucked up all the God-fearing folk.  Matters are made worse when the Anti-Christ (Robinson) chooses Kendrick’s character to be his new bride.  THR reports that Paul Middleditch will direct from Chris Matheson’s script, which is described as “Zombieland meets The Big Lebowski“.  Rapturepalooza is the first film under Lionsgate’s new “microbudget” initiative to create films that cost $2 million or less.

Kendrick recently co-starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and will next be seen alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen in the cancer dramedy 50/50.  As for Daley, in addition to co-starring on Bones, he’s got a successful screenwriting career going.  He co-wrote the script for the upcoming comedies Horrible Bosses and Burt Wonderstone, and last February he was hired to co-write a remake of National Lampoon’s Vacation with writing partner Jonathan Goldstein.

Spurred by the success of low-budget features like Paranormal Activity, Lionsgate has announced three “microbudget” films in its upcoming slate.  The comedies Rapturepalooza and Gay Dude along with the horror film 6 Miranda Drive, will all be made for under $2 million a piece.  Lionsgate currently has up to 10 films planned under its new microbudget umbrella.
