Jason Statham owned the Transporter movie franchise with his rules, ass-kicking and charisma, but he’s handing over the keys for an iteration meant for the small screen.  The new Transporter: The Series centers on Frank Martin, an ex-Special Forces field operative who has taken to transporting precious cargo to make a living. While Statham made the role famous, Chris Vance (All Saints) will climb into the driver’s seat for the series.  The premise is series worthy, but without Statham, will it be enough?  Hit the jump to watch the first trailer for Transporter: The Series.

Traffic has been halted this week in Nice, while pedestrians stand along the streets watching a car chase, completely unafraid of the bullets flying out the vehicles. Sound like a movie? It kind of is. Shooting for the TV spinoff of The Transporter franchise began this week in the South of France, under the direction of Andy Mikita.

Produced by Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp and Lagardère Entertainment, The Transporter will be filming in the French city before heading out to Toronto next month. Hit the jump for more details and cast info.

The premiere for the fifth season of Dexter is just over a month away and today we have a handful of items to get you excited for Michael C. Hall’s return as your favorite serial killer. Dexter won’t return until September 26th, but EW has word that Chris Vance (Mental, Burn Notice) will have a multi-episode arc on the forthcoming fifth season of the series. Joining other guest stars like Julia Stiles and Peter Weller, Vance will appear in at least three episodes as Cole, a meticulous, physically fit, well-spoken personal aide to a famous businessman.
