In case you want to see more of Piranha 3DD’s cast than just David Hasselhoff, we have a new “making of” featurette for you to check out. The Hoff was recently featured in both a clip from the film as well as a character featurette. This new featurette, while still not a real behind-the-scenes look, showcases David Koechner, Katrina Bowden and Gary Busey talking about their characters and the fictitious lengths they had to go through to bring Piranha 3DD to the screen. If you’re a fan of boobs and blood, or just an amateur icthyologist eager to learn more, you’ll want to hit the jump to check out the NSFW video. Directed by John Gulager, the film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer and Danielle Panabaker. Piranha 3DD opens on June 1st.

Dimension Films is doubling your pleasure with a second helping of boobs, blood and killer fish in this summer’s Piranha 3DD. For a while now, I thought the extra D was a cleverly disguised breast joke, but apparently it stands for “David,” as in David Hasselhoff. This new clip from the film features The Hoff in his oh-so-familiar role as a lifeguard. Fans of the glory days of Baywatch will get a kick out of the segment and the humor aimed at an aging Hasselhoff is spot-on to what you can expect from Piranha 3DD. Be sure to check out the trailer, red-band trailer, posters and images, as well. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD opens June 1st. Hit the jump to check out the new clip.

Dimension Films has unleashed seven new images from the gore-heavy sequel Piranha 3DD. They highlight everything we expect to see from the follow-up to Piranha 3D: good looking girls in swimsuits, Ving Rhames with a gun attachment instead of a leg, and David Hasselhoff. The sequel moves the action to a water park that’s (naturally) kept safe by stripper lifeguards, and I’m assuming much nudity and/or carnage ensues.
Hit the jump to check out the images. The film also stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey.

A red-band trailer for Piranha 3DD has gone online. Like the first movie, the sequel is all about boobs and blood, but this trailer is mostly about the former rather than the latter. Yes, the trailer has plenty of killer-fishy menace, but don’t expect seeing any gruesome kills. Instead, expect to see lots of bare breasts, and I assume no one will complain about that.
Hit the jump to check out the red-band trailer. The film stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD currently does not have a release date.

The first trailer for Piranha 3DD has gone online. For everyone who loved the first movie, the new trailer wants to let you know, “All that stuff you liked? The boobs, the gore, the silliness, and all that stuff? Yep. That’s all here. Enjoy.” There seems to be some creative kills in store in addition to the goofiness of stripper-lifeguards and Ving Rhames-Gunlegs. My only problem with this trailer is the notable absence of Gary Busey. Hopefully, we’ll see him and his piranha-related lunacy soon.

Making waves as one of the best comedies on television, and certainly a progressive and at times edgy comedy that’s still appropriate for the whole family, ABC’s sitcom Modern Family plows through it’s second season with flying colors and plenty of raucous laughter on this three-disc Blu-Ray set. While each of the respective three families certainly have their issues to work through in every single episode, they are far from being as dysfunctional as the diabolical Bluth family of Arrested Development. Of course, that means that the comedy and writing isn’t necessarily on the same level either, but creators and executive producers Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd (no, not the one you’re thinking of) aren’t trying to emulate that comedy style or even tone, and the result is a familiar but fresh Emmy-winning series that looks to last for many seasons to come. For more of my take on the second season of Modern Family, hit the jump.

I haven’t gotten around to seeing Alexandre Aja’s remake of Piranha 3D, but I heard good things all around regarding its creative kills, delightful stupidity, and all-around exploitative nature. It’s a movie that knows what it wants to be an pulls it off. That general consensus combined with a solid box office performance has led to the sequel Piranha 3DD. The new film has the carnivorous fishies headed to a water park, which aren’t really sanitary places to begin with. Dimension Films premiered the first trailer last night at the SpikeTV Scream Awards and it looks like they’ve definitely got the “DD” part down. Also, Ving Rhames’s character apparently shops at the same prosthetics store as Cherry Darling. I have no complaints about gun-legs.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer. The fish food cast also includes Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Gary Busey. Piranha 3DD opens next year.

Nike is indeed releasing a line of sneakers inspired by Back to the Future, but there’s a couple catches. First, the self-lacing feature that made the kicks so futuristic is not included on the Nike MAGs. That seems like a waste to me, but I’d never own a pair anyway thanks to the second catch: Nike is producing just 1,500 pairs to auction off over the next week. The auction begins over at Nike’s Ebay page tonight at 8:30 PST and ends September 18. All of the net proceeds go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to research Parkinson’s disease.
Fox will appear on Late Show with David Letterman tonight to talk more about the shoes and the auction. In the meantime, hit the jump for another commercial that shows off the features of the shoe (lots of lights!).
[Update: We've added a commercial featuring Bill Hader and Christopher Lloyd plus new images after the jump.]

Piranha 3DD clearly has no desire to be considered a real movie and if attempting to top their previously-announced stunt casting of Gary Busey by hiring David Hasselhoff. Unfortunately, nothing beats Busey. The new film takes place at a water park so perhaps Hasselhoff will be playing a lifeguard. You know, because he was a lifeguard on Baywatch. So clever, Piranha 3DD.
The film also stars Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Katrina Bowden, Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, and David Koechner. Piranha 3DD opens in 3D on November 23rd.

We have some quick casting stories for you this afternoon. First up, The Weinstein Company has sent out a press release announcing that Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, and Paul Scheer will return for Piranha 3DD. Their characters survived the first film, and like all good horror flick survivors, I’m sure they’ll offer some kind of cursory explanation of what’s happening, that explanation will be ignored until it’s too late, and then at least two out of the three survivors will be destroyed. My money is on Rhames making it out alive. The trio joins previously announced cast members Katrina Bowden, Gary Busey, Danielle Panabaker, David Koechner, Matt Bush, and Chris Zylka. Piranha 3DD opens in 3D on November 23rd.
In other casting news, Variety reports that Michael Kelly (The Adjustment Bureau) has joined Dane DeHaan Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell, and Ashley Hinshaw in Chronicle. Kelly will play the father of one of three teenagers who get superpowers when they come into contact with a mysterious substance. Josh Trank will make his feature directing debut from a script by Max Landis. Chronicle is set for release on February 3, 2012.

There has already been an exhaustive coverage of Back to the Future leading up to today’s release of the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Edition, but who doesn’t want more of Marty McFly, Doc Brown, and Einstein? And so, hot off the heels of our sneak peek at two clips from the Blu-ray set last week, and footage of a young Eric Stoltz portraying Marty, we are pleased to bring you the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Blu-ray/DVD Press Conference.
Most of the cast, including Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson, talk about the film – fondest memories, the social impact the film has had, etc. While the footage doesn’t reveal anything new (except that Lea Thompson doesn’t think her pink dress from the film is appropriate for her daughters) it’s always fun to see the gang back together. Check it out after the jump.

Last year, we brought you loads of coverage from AFM (American Film Market). AFM is where buyers and sellers do business to bring you the films you might be seeing in the near future. They use artwork and synopses which are used for promotional purposes but which we use to bring you news on these films. With this year’s AFM gearing up, we have artwork and synopsis on four upcoming movies: On the Inside starring Nick Stahl and Olivia Wilde; The Witches of Oz (which is actually a mini-series) starring Christopher Lloyd, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Lance Henriksen; The Eagle Path written, produced, directed by, and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme; and Bridge to Nowhere starring Ving Rhames, Danny Masterson, and Bijou Phillipps, and directed by Blair Underwood.
Hit the jump for artwork and synopses for these films plus a trailer for Bridge to Nowhere. Look for a lot more AFM coverage soon.

Holy awesomeness-overload Batman! Spike TV’s Scream Awards debuted a multitude of video from some highly anticipated projects. Included is a “new” trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, a clip from AMC’s new series The Walking Dead, and an onstage Back to the Future reunion with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.

Glorious news! Apparently, Christopher Lloyd really enjoyed his recent trip back to eccentric genius-ville in Piranha 3D, because the 71-year old actor has signed up for yet another riff on his iconic Back to the Future character in 3D Entertainment Films’ Time, The Fourth Dimension. Per Variety, the 45-minute 3D offering will feature Lloyd as a distinctively kooky scientist blazing new trails through space and time.
Jean-Jacques Mantello (OceanWorld 3D) and Richard Gabai (Insight) will co-direct Time, with a release set for spring 2012. The film is one of a new line of movies set to be released by 3D Entertainment.

As the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future rolls on, the news just keeps coming. In June, we reported that Telltale Games would be making a brand new game based on the classic 1985 time travel hit and now a newly revealed image provides the first taste of what the game might hold. In addition to an image of the main characters, co-writer and producer for the series, Bob Gale, told the paper that the plot of the game will be based on five “episodes” and that the DeLorean, Hill Valley and various characters from the movie will appear. Also, Christopher Lloyd will return to provide the voice of Doc Brown.
Add this to the fact that the UK is getting a theatrical re-release, the brand new Blu-rays are coming out,and a week-long celebration is happening in Los Angeles and Back to the Future seems to be just as popular as it was 25 years ago.
But, did you know this isn’t the first time Marty and Doc have appeared in a video game? Hit the jump to see the reason why Telltale Games had to give this franchise a game worthy of the name Back to the Future.
