Dallas is back on TNT for a second season of back-stabbing, plot-scheming and blackmailing fun.  Just like its original incarnation, the drama centers on the Ewing clan, an enormously wealthy Texas family whose sibling rivalries, romantic betrayals, corruption and even murder are truly legendary.  The show stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong and Mitch Pileggi.

During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, actress Jordana Brewster, who plays Christopher’s (Metcalfe) love and business partner Elena Ramos, talked about how much she has enjoyed seeing her character come into her own this season, where her heart is at now, her hopes for a wedding, who the bigger threat is, getting to see more of Elena’s family this season, and how the absence of Larry Hagman (with his passing on November 23, 2012) will affect the show.  She also talked about how excited she is for the Fast and Furious 6 (Furious 6) trailer to debut during the Super Bowl on February 3rd (it will be her first time seeing any footage from the film), how the fans won’t be let down this time around, and that the stunts in this one will one-up the last one yet again.  Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Hot on the heels of the series premiere, TNT is already rolling in the black gold that is their revival of Dallas. The series has been averaging about 6.9 million viewers in its first season this summer, and that’s after decades away from Southfork and the familiar characters from the classic series. Now with a larger family, the show is back with a vengeance and TNT has decided to keep it around for a second season with a 15-episode order just announced, slated to air sometime in 2013.  But that’s not all. TNT also brings back the female detective duo Rizzoli & Isles for a fourth season next year.  More details, including full press releases for both renewals, after the jump.

At the show’s press day, actor Patrick Duffy spoke to Collider about reuniting with Larry Hagman and Linda Gray, why he felt this incarnation worked when so many others over the years haven’t (including an “awful” script for a film that was to star John Travolta), how easily and naturally Bobby Ewing came back to him, that he feels this is the perfect progression for the character, the luxury of having to do less on the show, and how much fun it is to get to act out the confrontations between Bobby and JR.  Check out what he had to say after the jump.

TNT Releases First Trailer for DALLAS Revival

This past summer we got our first look at the long-developing revival of the classic series Dallas, and now TNT has debuted the first trailer and damn is it melodramatic. Honestly, it looks like this show is only going to hit with the older demographics who remember what it was like to watch J.R. get shot back in the day. If anything, the visual look rather striking, and it’s interesting seeing old cast members like Patrick Duffy back in a somewhat high profile series like this again. Who knows, maybe this will get a younger generation into some classic TV. Judge for yourself by watching the trailer after the jump.

TNT Debuts First Look at New DALLAS Series

Last week we learned that TNT had finally given a greenlight to their new Dallas series that takes the classic family rivalry into a new generation. Now we finally have the first promo for the series after the cable network decided to tease viewers a bit even though it won’t debut until next summer. Since I don’t have a point of nostalgia for this series, I can’t say that I’m all that interested in the series, but it looks like the show may be able to stand alone without necessitating familiarity with the classic TV series from years ago. You can judge for yourself after checking out the promo after the jump.

TNT Finally Greenlights a New DALLAS Series

After gestating for years, TNT has finally given a greenlight to an all-new series based on Dallas, one of the most iconic TV dramas of all-time. However, unlike recent series remakes like Charlie’s Angels and Hawaii Five-0, this series combines stars from the classic show with all-new cast members. Josh Henderson (90210), Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die), Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious), Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars) and Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives) are the new kids on the block, but they’ll be joined by original Dallas stars Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman, all reprising their roles from the original series. Hit the jump for more details on the series and the full press release.

TNT has cast Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious) as one of the leads in their upcoming reboot of Dallas.  The new series is a continuation of the Ewing saga told in the original show, which ran 14 seasons from 1978-1991.  Dallas 2.0 focuses on the bitter rivalry of the vaguely related John Ross (son of J.R. Ewing) and Christopher (adopted by Bobby and Pam Ewing).  TV Line reports Brewster will play Elena, the daughter of the Southfork ranch’s cook embroiled in a love triangle with John and Christopher.  The pilot was scripted by executive producer Cynthia Cidre (Cane).

Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray are likely to reprise their roles as J.R., Bobby, and Sue Ellen Ewing, respectively.  Hit the jump for a synopsis of both the original and the reboot.
