This Friday, Zack Snyder‘s new take on Superman’s origin, Man of Steel, will hit screens and run 143 minutes. But if you need your Superman origin story to run for 11520 minutes, you can pick up Amazon’s Gold Box Deal of the Day, Smallville: The Complete Series for $114.99 (66% off). I only watched the first few seasons of the series before it was clear that they were struggling to find new plotlines, but I will say I really enjoyed Michael Rosenbaum‘s performance as a young Lex Luthor. Like all Gold Box deals, it’s only good while supplies last or until midnight tonight. Click here to buy.

Speaking from personal experience, it can get tiresome after a while when you’re at a party and someone brings up The Wire, and you’re the only one who hasn’t seen it. It’s not my favorite show, but it’s a show I deeply respect, and I can understand the admiration. It can be entertaining series, and there’s a fun shorthand you can have with other fans, but it’s also a landmark in long-form storytelling on television. For those who don’t have HBO GO, you can finally get in on the conversation, and pick up all five seasons for $79.99 (60% off). Get it for yourself, or make it a great Father’s Day gift. I’m sure your pops wants to know about the bodies in the vacants. Click here to buy. For hundreds of additional DVD and Blu-ray deals, click here.

Amazon’s Gold Box Deal of the Day is The West Wing: The Complete Series Collection for $79.99 (73% off its $299.99 list price). The first four seasons is among the best television ever made. The writing is top-notch, the performances are unforgettable, and it’s constantly uplifting. If you bought these seasons individually, you’d be paying over $80, so this box set is already a good deal. Throw in the last three seasons (season 5 is rough, but the show picks back up in seasons 6 and 7), and today’s deal is definitely a bargain.
