70s icon Farrah Fawcett died today after a long battle with cancer. Fawcett is best known for her iconic 70s poster which many a teenage boy in the 70s masturbated to. That’s not a slam at her memory in any way or trying to score a cheap joke. I find it laudatory. Millions of boys found their way into adult sexuality because of her and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Fawcett also found popularity on the TV show “Charlie’s Angels” where she played Jill Monroe. While, like many celebrities, Fawcett’s career was not without controversy, her documenting her battle with cancer, along with causing many a locked door in the 70s and 80s, will be her legacy and any craziness will, as it almost always is, be forgotten.
Fawcett is survived by her long-time partner, actor Ryan O’Neil, and their son Redmond.
