Limited Paper: Mondo Announces Second ADVENTURE TIME Gallery Show from Artists JJ Harrison, Rich Kelly, Craig Drake; BLACK BEETLE Online Drop

by     Posted 9 days ago

Mondo’s made no secret of the fact that they’re really, really, really into Pendleton Ward and Cartoon Network’s blockbuster animated series, Adventure Time.  Last year, they held a special marathon screening for the series at the Alamo Drafthouse (complete with an Adventure Time-themed menu, which gave birth do the Rainicorn-colored hot dogs that still making regular appearances in Limited Paper’s most terrifying nightmares), released a print to commemorate the event, and opened an Adventure Time-themed gallery show.

Sporadic Adventure Time-themed releases were dropped in the months that followed, often enough that rumors circulated that a second AT-themed show was headed to the Mondo Gallery.  And—as some of you may have already heard—the rumor’s now been confirmed:  a second Adventure Time-themed showcase will open towards the end of this month…and this time Ward’s series is bringing J.G. Quintel’s Regular Show along for the ride.  More on this (as well as an update re: Francesco Francavilla’s Black Beetle print) after the jump, folks.

Although things were quiet on the Limited Paper front this week, one shouldn’t assume that it’s been quiet all over in Poster World:  in truth, things are just as busy as they were throughout October…it’s just that many things have been going down behind the scenes.  Indeed, there’s reason to believe—whether you’re a casual collector, a frothing-at-the-mouth true believer who feel s compelled  to buy everything, or if you’re just now making the decision to get into the absurdly entertaining hobby of print-collecting—that the rest of 2012 is gonna be (to quote former first lady Nancy Reagan) “absotively redonkulous up in hurr, bitches”.

But let’s not dwell on what may or may not be happening in the weeks ahead:  instead, let’s focus on what’s happening in the immediate future.   Wanna know when you can get a crack at the remaining prints that didn’t sell out at Mondo’s Universal Monsters Gallery show?  Are you a Mass Effect fan looking to prove your love for that franchise via the purchase and display of fancy-colored paper?  Wanna another head’s up regarding Limited Paper’s next giveaway?  It’s all after the jump, folks.

While the infamously awesome San Diego Comic-Con may be over for another year, Limited Paper’s coverage from last week’s “gathering of the geeks” is far from over:  for the next week or so, we’re going to be bringing you a ton of post-Con coverage, including interviews with Olly MossJason Edmiston, and rising screenprint superstar Mark Englert, video footage from the frontlines of Mondo’s biggest Comic-Con poster-drop (that’d be Moss’ The Dark Knight Rises) and much, much more.  But before we get into all that, we wanted to share something a little different:  a ton of photos, taken in and around “Club 437” (the wink-wink name a few of us gave to booth #437—the booth Mondo called home during the Con) by the latest addition to the Limited Paper team, Billy Garrett.

Want to see what you missed if you weren’t at SDCC last week?  Meet me after the jump.
