Good morning, world. As Jason cooks up an article covering the four amazing new posters for Black Swan, I decided to grab the posters for two of my most anticipated films in the next few months and one that just came to my attention. There is a lot of internet hate for The Green Hornet, but I stand in the camp that just wants to see how it is. I have reserved most of my judgment because I adore the director (Michel Gondry) and like that it is not an easy sell. The other film is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, which is the start of the two-part epic conclusion to the blockbuster film series. The poster we are displaying focuses on one of my personal favorite characters: Dobby. Meanwhile, we have a poster for the country music drama Country Strong that features Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow. So hit the jump to check out the posters.

While, Warner Bros. has decided to send David Yates’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I into theaters without 3D, the studio isn’t leaving the boy wizard’s past adventures alone. Variety reports that the studio’s home entertainment division has hired Prime Focus to convert Yates’ previous Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, into 3D Blu-ray. Because Yates is still at work on Deathly Hallows: Part II, he won’t be able to give his full attention to the 3D conversion until early 2011. However, Variety notes that “the Prime Focus process is flexible enough to permit the director to view shots and ask for adjustments after most work on those shots has been done.”

True to Matt’s prediction that we would soon be flooded with posters from the film, Warner Bros. has released yet another new poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. Earlier this week, WB released three character posters from the film and today we have a nice one-sheet of Harry, Ron, and Hermione gallivanting about through what I’m going to guess is some sort of enchanted forest (help me out here, Potter fans).
Hit the jump to check out the new poster. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Nighy, and Rhys Ifans. The film opens November 19th.

Warner Bros. has released the first three of what could be about five-hundred different posters for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. The studio has a habit of churning out a wide variety of character banners and posters for the Harry Potter films. It’s possible that we’re about to see a poster featuring every single character informing us that “Nowhere Is Safe”. Or maybe this time around there won’t be enough posters to wallpaper a house.

The film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, and basically every British person who ever lived or will ever live. The first TV spot for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I has gone online. Directed by David Yates (who also did the last two Harry Potter movies), the film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Rhys Ifans, Bill Nighy, and just about every other British person in the world. Next time you meet someone British, ask them what it was like to be in Harry Potter. I’m sure they will be in no way offended.

At the rate new images from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are coming out, you should be able to print them all off by the time film opens and make a flipbook. These images shouldn’t be considered too spoiler-y. I don’t remember at what point in the books Harry encounters the Children of the Corn. Also, one of the images is most likely a set photo unless director David Yates is playing Death Eater who uses his magical powers on a hapless muggle film crew.
Hit the jump to check out both images. To see previously-released images, you can click here, here, here, here, and here. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I opens November 19th.

The 2010 summer movie season kind of sucked. There were some good wide-release movies like Splice and Predators. But there were also films like Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3, which were unable to meet the (perhaps unfairly) high expectations put upon them. The only major films that cleared the high bar were Inception and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
But I think the rest of the year has the potential to blow minds. There’s a wonderful variety of both light and serious fare. I’ve boiled down the number of films I’m excited to see over the next four months down to 15 flicks. Hit the jump to find out what’s on my radar. Also, be sure to sound off in the comments section about what films you’re jazzed to see as 2010 begins to wind down.

New images from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch have gone online. One of the Harry Potter images shows Bill Nighy as Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour and another shot has Remus Lupin getting all up in The-Boy-Who-Lived’s grill.
The image from Sucker Punch has a dragon fighting a plane. I don’t really think that needs any elaboration. Hit the jump to check out both images. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. It opens on November 19th. Sucker Punch stars Emily Browning, Carla Gugino, Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, and Jon Hamm. It’s slated to open on March 25, 2011.

Warner Bros. has released new promotional photos for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Of the seven images, two are of the boy wizard himself with the remaining five providing looks at characters such as Xenophilius Lovegood (played by Rhys Ifans), Albert Runcorn (David O’Hara), Bathilda Bagshot (Hazel Douglas), Rufus Scrimgeour (Bill Nighy), and Gregorovitch (Rade Šerbedžija). With its November 19th release quickly approaching, you should be preparing for an onslaught of Potter press in the coming weeks. Just to error on the side of safety, I would recommend getting that press from us (of course, I may be partial). For an early review of the film, click here. If you haven’t already, you can also check out a new featurette from the film and more new images.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I doesn’t officially drop until November 19th, but Warner Bros. held a test screening in Chicago on Saturday, with director David Yates as well as producers David Heyman and David Barron reportedly in attendance. When the announcement was made that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows would be adapted into two movies, everyone wondered where the split would be. By that time, most Potter fans had already read the seventh and final book of J.K. Rowling’s epic series and come to terms with the beloved characters on the page. But Warner Bros. still had plenty of work to do before they could retire the characters on the big screen, too.
You can find out where the split takes place, and check out some awesome new images from the film, after the jump.

A new featurette for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has gone online. The featurette centers on the story of the film and obviously there’s nothing super-spoilery for those who haven’t read the book. If anything, this featurette focuses more on the emotional journey of the movie and the threats surrounding all the characters. There’s also more glimpses of the movie itself and those are always welcome.
Hit the jump to check out the featurette. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I opens on November 19th and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is set for July 15, 2011.
