A new teaser trailer has been released for creator Ronald D. Moore’s forthcoming SyFy series titled Helix.  This teaser is bound to cause some excitement amongst Sci-Fi fans considering the fact that Moore’s wildly successful Emmy award-winning Battlestar Galactica had a cult following of Joss Whedon proportions.

Helix follows team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. The ending of the teaser hints that the scientists’ discovery could change the world or end it, ending with the suspenseful tag line “the truth will spread,” evoking the imagery of disease.  The show’s official release date is not yet determined.  Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer. 

Picture this: a thriller about a team of scientists from the Center for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak. Sounds good, right? Well, that’s what Syfy thought, too. The cable network announced on Thursday that it has given a straight-to-series order for Ron Moore’s (Battlestar Galactica) new drama Helix.
