Fresh off the debut images that were released the other day, Sony Pictures has now released a few more The Equalizer images ahead of the film’s trailer debut. Adapted from the 1980s TV series of the same name, the pic reteams Denzel Washington with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua as he plays a former black ops commando who comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl (Chloe Grace Moretz). Soon thereafter, things go south and he finds himself squaring off against violent Russian gangsters. The pic scored incredibly high during its first test screening, and Sony is already prepping a sequel in the hopes that this film hits big with audiences. We’ll get a look at Washington in action when the trailer is released in the coming days.

Earlier today, director Colin Trevorrow dropped a few fascinating nuggets of information about the upcoming sequel Jurassic World by discussing his desire to helm further installments in the franchise, the nature of Omar Sy’s character, and revealing that they are using animatronic dinosaurs for the production. Now, just a few hours later, the first official Jurassic World images have landed online as filming is underway in Hawaii. They’re not incredibly revealing, but we do get a first look at Bryce Dallas Howard’s character as well as a couple of environment shots. Trevorrow previously described Howard’s role as “very corporate, very controlled,” and that is certainly reflected in this debut image.
Hit the jump to check out the first Jurassic World images. The film also stars Chris Pratt, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D’Onofrio, B.D. Wong, Judy Greer, Jake Johnson, and Irrfan Khan. Jurassic World opens in theaters on June 12, 2015.
Universal Pictures has released a batch of high-resolution Neighbors images from director Nicholas Stoller’s (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Five-Year Engagement) new comedy. The film stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as a married couple with a newborn baby who must deal with a fraternity—fronted by Zac Efron—when it moves in next door. Response to the pic’s premiere at the SXSW Film Festival was highly positive, and the trailers released thus far have promised an incredibly funny R-rated comedy. That’s no surprise when you have comedic talents like Rogen and Byrne heading up the film, but Efron has drawn strong notice as well and I’m eager to see his interplay with the Rogen/Bryne pairing.

A new How to Train Your Dragon 2 clip has been released online, and it should bring to mind another recent fantasy franchise. The long-awaited DreamWorks Animation sequel picks up five years after the events of the first film, as Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless are exploring new territories while the rest of their friends are enjoying dragon races. During one of Hiccup and Toothless’ journeys, they discover a secret ice cave, hundreds of new wild dragons, and the mysterious Dragon Rider. This new clip provides a look at the aforementioned dragon races, as the main characters take part in a Quidditch-esque game that involves picking up sheep and dropping them into baskets. It highlights the film’s great sense of humor, gorgeously colorful animation, and soaring score, making the wait for its release that much harder.

Miller, Djimon Hounsou, and Kristen Wiig. How to Train Your Dragon 2 will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May and opens in theaters everywhere on June 13th.
Disney has released a batch of new high-resolution Maleficent images from director Robert Stromberg’s upcoming fantasy-adventure film. The pic tells the story of how the titular Sleeping Beauty villain turned antagonist, as Angelina Jolie plays a woman whose betrayal sets off a drive of revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides. As we get closer to the pic’s release date, more and more visual effects shots are being completed. Thus far this looks to be a very VFX-heavy outing, and these new Maleficent images give us a look at some of the CGI creatures—both big and small—that populate the fantasy tentpole.
Hit the jump to check out the new Maleficent images. The film also stars Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville. Maleficent opens in 2D and 3D on May 30th.
In addition to some recently released live-action images, we’ve now got a look at some of Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For storyboard images used for the film. To me, they look like panels from Miller’s source material, which makes sense considering his films are aimed at bringing the pages of his graphic novels to life. Plenty of style on display here, but we’ll have to wait until later this summer to see if the sequel’s got the substance to match. *FYI, the images could be considered NSFW depending on how uptight your workplace is.
Starring Josh Brolin, Eva Green, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Jamie Chung, Powers Boothe, Christopher Lloyd, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Stacy Keach, and Julia Garner, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For opens on August 22nd. Writer-director Paul Haggis’ Third Person trailer is now available online. As a treat, we’ve also got a look at the film’s international trailer, a bunch of character images, and the film’s poster. All of the varied media give looks at stars Liam Neeson, Olivia Wilde, James Franco, Mila Kunis, Adrien Brody, Moran Atias, and Maria Bello. That’s quite the cast that Haggis has assembled for his romantic drama that tells the tale of three interlocking stories of couples in Rome, Paris, and New York, familiar territory for the Oscar-winning writer of Crash.
Also starring Kim Basinger, the film will make its U.S. debut on April 24th at the Tribeca Film Festival. Watch the first Third Person trailer after the jump, plus a bonus international trailer and a host of new images.

We saw a bunch of colorful and creative robots in disguise in the film’s trailer, but thanks to new Transformers: Age of Extinction toy images, we can put a few more names with their metallic faces. Some are familiar, like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and even the relatively new Grimlock; others give names to that fellow with the parachute, and the two-headed dinobot. Still more could be a bit spoilery so you might want to avoid if that sort of thing bothers you.
Starring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Han Geng, Sophia Myles, and Li Bingbing, the movie opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on June 27th. Hit the jump to take a look at the new Transformers: Age of Extinction toy images.
While much of the country was in the grip of sub-freezing temperatures, a group of online journalists (myself included) were lucky enough to visit the set of Dolphin Tale 2 in Clearwater, Florida. Writer-director Charles Martin Smith returns for the sequel, which also features returning cast members Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman, Nathan Gamble, and Cozi Zuehlsdorff to name a few. Of course, Winter the Dolphin is back in her scene-stealing role at the center of the extended family drama which includes not just the human cast, but their animal patients as well.

The fourth season premiere of HBO’s massively popular drama series Game of Thrones is just a few short days away, and in anticipation of the event, the network has unveiled a new gallery of images teasing the new season. These 10 episodes will cover roughly the second half of the third book in George R.R. Martin’s series, A Storm of Swords, and as we can see in these images, many characters will find themselves in precarious situations. Most notably, this new image gallery gives us a close look at Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) dragons, which have grown considerably since we last saw them.

The show also stars Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Charles Dance, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, Natalie Dormer, Gwendoline Christie, and Jack Gleeson. Universal Pictures has released the first Lucy trailer. Director Luc Besson‘s (The Fifth Element) upcoming action thriller stars Scarlett Johansson as a reluctant drug mule who is transformed into an incredible fighter capable of clairvoyance, telekinesis, and an ability to disregard pain and emotion when one of the designer drugs enters her system. The flick looks fun and interesting. I like that she gets her powers from a bag of blue goo leaking into her stomach, and when she those gets powers she starts to lose her emotions. It’s a neat premise, and the action looks good. Also, the Morgan Freeman narration reminds me of this scene from South Park.
Hit the jump to watch the Lucy trailer and to check out some new images. The film also stars Analeigh Tipton. Lucy opens in theaters August 8th.
