A new Dumb and Dumb To international trailer has gone online, and it’s about as intentionally idiotic as you’d expect.  The follow-up takes place 20 years after the events of the first film, with Lloyd (Jim Carrey) and Harry (Jeff Daniels) setting out on a road trip in order to find the child Harry never knew he had.  There are a few bits of footage that weren’t in the domestic trailer, and I think the movie could be entertaining.  I don’t know if it will be as funny as the original (comedy sequels rarely are), but I’ve already gotten some good laughs from these trailers.

Fox Searchlight has released a new The Drop trailer along with a new poster and images.  Tom Hardy plays Bob, a former criminal and current bartender working at a bar that serves as a money “drop” for local gangsters.  When the bar gets robbed, Bob and his cousin/employer Marv (James Gandolfini) find themselves in the crosshairs of an investigation and the criminal underworld.  Unlike the U.S. trailer, this international trailer features the excellent Matthias Schoenaerts, who is reteaming with his Bullhead director Michaël R. Roskam for the film.  It looks like a solid crime drama, and if anything, it will be worth watching for Gandolfini’s final big screen performance.

New International Trailer for Luc Besson’s LUCY Starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman

A new international trailer has gone online for Lucy.  Director Luc Besson‘s (The Fifth Element) upcoming action thriller stars Scarlett Johansson as a reluctant drug mule who is transformed into an incredible fighter capable of clairvoyance, telekinesis, and an ability to disregard pain and emotion when one of the designer drugs enters her system.  While I have to grit my teeth every time I hear the “only use 10% of our brains” line, it’s a premise I’m willing to accept if it means we’ll get the goofy fun that’s on display in this trailer.  The movie looks like someone said “We gave Black Widow superpower.  Enjoy.”

New International Trailer for 22 JUMP STREET Starring Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube

A new international trailer for 22 Jump Street has gone online.  Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller return for the comedic sequel, along with stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, who move from the halls of high school to the college campus this time around.  The plot still seems to involve busting a drug ring, but that’s secondary to Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko’s (Tatum) hilarious shenanigans such as proper grenade storage and failing to improvise.  Lord and Miller look like they haven’t missed a step, which is high praise considering how much I adore 21 Jump Street.

Trailer for the Western Drama THE SALVATION Starring Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green

I like Mads Mikkelsen, and I think slowly and surely he’s getting the widespread recognition he deserves while still staying true to an eclectic collection of work.  He turns in excellent performances week after week on Hannibal but also starred in the Oscar-nominated drama The Hunt as a falsely-accused child molester.  Yesterday, a trailer for the western drama The Salvation went online, and stars Mikkelsen as a Danish immigrant trying to build a life in the 1870s America.  The story centers on a man whose family is brutally murdered, and he goes out for violent retribution.  However, his quest for revenge triggers retaliation from the friends and families of his enemies.  It looks like captivating stuff, and having Eva Green on board to co-star only makes the movie look better.

Screen Gems and Sony Pictures have released a new Deliver Us From Evil international trailer.  The film stars Eric Bana as a New York police officer who teams up with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez) to investigate a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes.  It’s a fun premise: cop-drama-meets-exorcism-movie and mixing the two together could provide fresh life for both genres.  You also have a strong cast featuring not only Bana and Ramirez, but also Sean Harris (Prometheus), Olivia Munn, and Joel McHale even though the last two are known more for comedy than horror.  My only concern after watching this trailer is that putting these two genres may result in more clichés than exciting entertainment.

Warner Bros. has released an international trailer for the Wachowski Siblings‘ upcoming sci-fi adventure film, Jupiter Ascending.  The story follows Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a recent Russian immigrant who scrubs toilets for a living, but then discovers she has the genetic signature that makes her next in line to be Queen of the Universe.  Channing Tatum plays an ex-military hunter tasked with tracking her down.  The movie looking like it will be a lot of fun, and it’s also exciting to see a non-adaptation as part of the summer blockbuster season.  That probably means fewer people will see it because it hasn’t been pre-sold to them in some other form, but personally, I’m just glad to be getting a new Wachowskis movie this year.

International Trailer and TV Spot for GODZILLA Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston

Yesterday, the teaser trailer for Godzilla was released online, and judging by the reaction of the people I follow on Twitter, response was positive.  It’s a well-made trailer, and more importantly, the response shows that people are eager to see the giant monster get a second chance at an American adaptation.   Today, an international trailer and TV spot have gone online, and the tone is the same, but they contain brief new bits of footage.  If yesterday left you with a need for more Godzilla (or a need for actors who will be in Godzilla, since there’s not much of the titular monster at this point), it’s a quick fix.

Hit the jump for the trailer and TV spot.  The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette BinocheDavid Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, and Sally Hawkins.  Godzilla opens in 3D on May 16, 2014.

International Trailer for THE MONUMENTS MEN Starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Cate Blanchett

Georgle Clooney‘s Monuments Men looked like it could be a player in this year’s awards race, but it had to be pushed back to February in order to work on the special effects and find the tone of the story.  For those who are unfamiliar with the film, it’s based on a true story about soldiers and historians who have to go to Germany during World War II to rescue artistic masterpieces before they’re destroyed by the Nazis.  The first trailer made the film look confused and mediocre, but now an international trailer has gone online, and the movie looks like it’s in much better shape.  The humor is sharper, the story is better laid out, and the stakes are more clearly defined.  There’s even a little grin about the premise having a bit of an Ocean’s Eleven vibe when Matt Damon‘s character asks Clooney, “Aren’t you a little old for this?”  I have high hopes for the film, and this new trailer finally makes me excited for what Clooney has put together.

International Trailer and New Images for ROBOCOP Starring Joel Kinnaman and Abbie Cornish

An international trailer has been released for Jose Padilha‘s remake of RoboCop along with some new images.  The film takes place in 2028 and finds the sleazy OminiCorp putting its drone technology to use on domestic grounds by way of taking blown-apart cop Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) and turning him into a cyborg police officer.  The experiment on Murphy is meant to be the first of many RoboCops the company hopes to put in every U.S. city, but obviously things don’t go as planned.  The new trailer finally highlights an interesting difference between the original and the remake; in the original, Murphy has almost no self-awareness and he struggles to find his humanity, but in the remake it looks like Murphy already has that awareness and it could make for an interesting dynamic, especially in terms of the relationship with his wife (Abbie Cornish).

International Trailer for JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT Starring Chris Pine and Keira Knightley

Paramount has released a new trailer for the action-thriller Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.  Based on the Tom Clancy character, the film stars Chris Pine as the titular Ryan, a Moscow-based financial analyst who faces off against his employer when he discovers a plot to finance a terrorist attack designed to collapse the U.S. economy.  This international trailer contains some new footage, but so far, what I’m seeing from this movie isn’t doing anything for me.  Perhaps it’s because I’ve never found Jack Ryan to be a particularly interesting character, but even the action on display doesn’t really grab me.  Hopefully, it’s just the way the trailer is cut together and the final product will be more exhilarating.

A new international trailer has been released for the upcoming action-adventure film, 47 Ronin.  The story stars Keanu Reeves and centers on a troupe of banished samurai who long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (played by Tadanobu Asano) who was responsible for the death of their master.  It’s a classic tale, but blockbuster retelling throws in giant monsters, and they’re featured in this new trailer.  Sadly, I remain unconvinced.  They can flow and leave smoke/ribbon trails, but the design isn’t memorable and in the case of the gent above, the effects are underwhelming.  At least Rinko Kikuchi looks like she’s having a good time.

A new international trailer has been released for Nicolas Winding Refn’s thriller Only God Forgives.  The film stars Ryan Gosling as a drug smuggler in Bangkok who is forced by his mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) to avenge the death of his brother.  Like Refn’s other films, it looks like it has an intensity that’s only made more compelling by the slightly off-kilter, violent world the character inhabit.  This new international trailer contains some new footage, but nothing that looks like it’s going to spoil the picture.  My anticipation for the flick only grows.

Following on the heels of yesterday’s new domestic trailer for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, an international trailer has now been released online.  The plot revolves around Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) and Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) returning to Swallow Falls to clean up the mess created by the FLDSMDFR, only to find that food is now taking on the form of mutant beasts.  The film is one of my most-anticipated movies of the next three months, and while this trailer does retread a good portion of what we saw in the first trailer with regards to the food puns, we’re also getting more of Steve (Neil Patrick Harris).  I’m curious to see if the talking monkey will have a larger role in the sequel, or if he’s just being played up in the marketing due to his popularity and ability to get quick laughs.
