Next month Mondo will have its very own convention, MondoCon, and they’re starting out with a bang.  Today they’ve announced their full lineup of artists and programming as well as some of the amazing artwork they’ll have available.  One of the hottest items this year will undoubtedly be Alex RossThe Iron Giant poster.  This is the celebrated artist’s first time working with Mondo, and hopefully it won’t be his last.  As for The Iron Giant, Mondo is going all out in celebrating the wonderful film’s 15th anniversary, and in addition to Ross’ poster, they will also be putting the movie’s soundtrack on vinyl for the first time with two package designs from artists Jason Edmiston and Jay Shaw.

But these items are just a small part of a much larger convention that will have plenty of cool events.  Hit the jump to check out Ross’ Iron Giant poster, the vinyl covers, and to learn about what you can expect from this year’s MondoCon.

Last night, Gallery 1988 opened a cool new art show that focused on the many Judd Apatow movies and TV shows.   If you’re in the L.A. area and want to see artwork inspired by Freaks and Geeks, Anchorman, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad, Walk Hard, Funny People, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and more from his great resume, I suggest heading over to the Melrose Gallery before December 30 (it’s open Wednesday – Sunday, 11-6 PM).  However, for those that won’t be able to make the show, I took over 80 pictures and shot almost everything on display.  Hit the jump for more.

We’re big fans of Mondo—the collectible boutique arm of the legendary Alamo Drafthouse—here at Collider. They commission and make available gorgeous works of art inspired by movies small and large, commercial and cult hits. This past weekend Mondo opened their first ever gallery in Austin, TX, right in the middle of the SXSW Film Festival. The gallery opening was a huge success, and I’m incredibly jealous as both Steve and Matt got a chance to attend and take a gander. For those of us not lucky enough to make the trip, Mondo has made available images of some of the prints they had on display for their inaugural sci-fi show. They include stunning works including Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, A Trip to the Moon, War of the Worlds and more.

Hit the jump to take a look at some of the prints on display.
