Amy Adams Says Lois Lane Is Key to Finding Information in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE; Will She Have a Scene with Jason Momoa?

by     Posted 5 days ago

Lois Lane is a key character, but Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also has Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).  How can she possibly make a mark with so many big name superheroes in play? While talking to Amy Adams for her upcoming release, Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, she explained that even though the boys are doing the “heavy lifting” in Batman v Superman, Lois is still very much in the mix because she’s the one acquiring information and putting the pieces together.  Hit the jump for more.

Jason Momoa Talks AQUAMAN; Says He’s Signed for 4-Picture Deal, and Wants Zack Snyder to Direct Solo Picture

by     Posted 11 days ago

Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice wrapped filming this weekend, so we still have a very long 15 months of trying to find out every single thing we can about the movie before it opens, and that’s not to mention all of the other DCCU movies in the works.  One of those movies is 2018′s Aquaman starring Jason Momoa as The King of the Seven Seas.  Speaking at Comic-Con Experience in São Paulo, Brazil, Momoa couldn’t comment on the details of Batman v Superman, but he did talk about his contract, when he came on board, his hopes for the character’s future, and more.  The most surprising revelation is that he’s only signed for four movies.  While he didn’t specify, I assume he’s talking about Batman v Superman, Justice League: Part I and Part II, and Aquaman.  This is yet another way DC/WB is breaking away from Marvel in that rather than sign an actor to a ton of pictures and figuring out when to deploy and cross them over, Aquaman is locked into the big team-up, his solo picture, and that’s it.

Hit the jump for what Momoa had to say.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016, and also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Holly Hunter, Scoot McNairy, and Jeremy Irons.

by     Posted 108 days ago

It’s no secret that Warner Bros. is in the midst of building its own DC Comics Movies slate, crafting its answer to the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe.  They’ve already staked out release dates for nine upcoming DC Comics movies, and the in-production Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is looking like one massive Justice League prequel with appearances scheduled for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and more.  The question on everyone’s minds, though, is in what order will Warner Bros. be introducing more standalone DC comics movies?  Well an answer may have surfaced by way of four URLs that Warner Bros. just registered, which just so happen to match up to four very specific DC comics properties.  More after the jump.

Warner Bros. Commissions Two Separate AQUAMAN Scripts

by     Posted 129 days ago

Just last week, Warner Bros. threw the hammer down and announced release dates for nine untitled DC Comics adaptations all the way through 2020.  The slew of release dates was part of WB’s plan to go head-to-head with Marvel Studios in putting together its own comic book movie universe, and all signs point to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as the entry point for many of the characters that will subsequently land standalone movies.  Gal Gadot is already set to appear as Wonder Woman in BvS and one of the nine untitled films is no doubt a Wonder Woman movie, but today news comes about a standalone film for a different DC superhero: Aquaman.  Warner Bros. is aggressively putting together an Aquaman movie by hiring two writers to work on two separate screenplays for the film in the hopes of putting together the best possible version.  More after the jump.

While the LA Kings were establishing their rule over the ice last night, Jason Momoa was staking his claim as king of the seas.  A confident new report pegs the former Game of Thrones star as playing Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with a larger role likely in the superhero team-up movie, Justice League.  It sounds like Snyder’s design for the character is already set, so even though we haven’t heard any official confirmation yet, Momoa is expected to play the part.  There’s also a hint of some plot elements for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that would be in direct response to the destructive events that took place in Man of Steel.  Hit the jump for more.

[Update: THR has corroborated HitFix's report, citing their own sources as saying Momoa will indeed be playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  We'll let you know when we get official word from Warner Bros.]

Jason Momoa Talks THE RED ROAD, Working with His Wife, Auditioning for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, His Directorial Debut ROAD TO PALOMA, and More

by     Posted 295 days ago

On the SundanceTV drama series The Red Road, lines will be crossed when tragedy forces two men – a mesmerizing ex-con named Phillip Kopus (Jason Momoa) and an embattled local police officer named Harold Jensen (Martin Henderson) – to face the secrets of their past.  As these two men find themselves increasingly compromised by one another, the lives of both, and everyone around them, quickly unravel.

While at a luncheon with the cast, to promote and discuss the new show, actor Jason Momoa talked about how he came to The Red Road, what it’s been like to work with his wife Lisa Bonet, who’s also his co-star, playing a less clear-cut villain, just how crazy things will get by the end of this season, and that he has no idea how they’ll get out of the corner they’ve been placed in, if they do get a second season.  He also talked about how directing his first feature film, Road to Paloma, has changed him, the challenging experience of directing his wife, that he’d love to direct an episode of the show, when he’s looking to direct his next film, why his audition as Drax the Destroyer for Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the most fun experiences he’s had, why he hasn’t been in one of the superhero films he’s been rumored to be involved with yet, and how he would definitely be up for returning to do another Game of Thrones cameo.  Check out what he had to say after the jump, and be aware that there are some spoilers.

THE RED ROAD Review: New Sundance Drama Is Sinister

The Sundance Channel had an outstanding track record in 2013 for delivering some of the best television not only of the year, but in recent memory.  However, most of its programming was rebroadcast from other (usually foreign) markets, with only the excellent Rectify being a wholly-owned production.  The Red Road is now the second production that Sundance owns outright, and it falls in step with much of the channel’s “new for you” programming, including Top of the Lake and The Returned.  But it’s a tricky line to walk sometimes for dramas to have enough momentum to keep them from becoming too mired in darkness.  Hit the jump to see which side of the line The Red Road falls on.

While Jason Momoa came very close to landing a role in the Marvel Movie Universe by way of Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax the Destroyer, the part ultimately ended up going to David Bautista.  No matter, it now looks like Momoa will get his shot at a big superhero movie, as he has apparently entered talks to join the cast of director Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel follow-up Batman vs. Superman.  Warner Bros. recently announced that Gal Gadot will fill the role of Wonder Woman in the pic, and now that Snyder and producers have turned their attention to casting the film’s villain, it’s possible that Momoa could be playing the DC pic’s Big Bad.  Hit the jump for more.
