THE DEVIL’S HAND Trailer Unleashes an Ancient Evil on Jennifer Carpenter, Adelaide Kane and More

by     Posted 108 days ago

Looks like Lionsgate switched up the title of Christian E. Christiansen’s latest yet again.  It was originally called The Occult, then it was Where the Devil Hides back at CinemaCon 2013 and now, according to the film’s brand new trailer, it’s going by the name The Devil’s Hand instead.

The film focuses on six girls all born on the sixth day of the sixth month, but to different mothers.  According to ancient prophecy, only one can survive and on her 18th birthday, that one will become the Devil’s Hand.  Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have this one hitting theaters and VOD on October 10th.  The films stars Jennifer Carpenter, Rufus Sewell, Alycia Debnam Carey, Adelaide Kane, Leah Pipes and Thomas McDonell.  Hit the jump to check out the new The Devil’s Hand trailer.

DEXTER Heads to Comic-Con’s Hall H for Final Season Panel on Thursday, July 18th

by     Posted 1 year, 173 days ago

The eighth and final season of Dexter kicked off on Showtime this past Sunday, but just because the season is already underway doesn’t mean the series is skipping one last trip to Comic-Con.  Showtime announced today that a panel for Dexter will be held in the massive Hall H on Thursday, July 18th at 6:30pm, where surprise guest stars “who are too big to mention” are promised.  KROQ’s Ralph Garman will moderate the panel, which will include cast members Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, James Remar, and even guest star Yvonne Strahovski.  Also taking part in the Q&A will be executive producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Scott Buck, and Manny Coto.  The network will also be hosting signings and giving away free merchandise at the Showtime booth on the convention floor.

Hit the jump to read the full press release, and check back here on Collider during Comic-Con for panel recaps, exclusive interviews, and much, much more.  Comic-Con runs from July 18th – 21st.  Dexter airs on Showtime Sundays at 9pm ET.

Full Trailer for DEXTER’s Eighth and Final Season

by     Posted 1 year, 219 days ago

Showtime has released a full trailer for the upcoming eighth and final season of the drama series Dexter.  The trailer shows how the events of last season’s finale will reverberate throughout this new batch of episodes, and we’re also introduced to a new character that could finally spell the end for Michael C. Hall’s Dexter and his secret-keeping.  There are some promising bits to be found in this new trailer, but I’m a little apprehensive about how Jennifer Carpenter’s Deb is handled.  It looks like Deb’s arc could get really repeptetive really quickly, not to mention being a tad grating.  Nevertheless, I’m interested to see how the producers pave the wave for the conclusion of the long-running series.

Hit the jump to watch the trailer, which includes spoilers for season (obviously).  Season eight of Dexter premieres on Showtime Sunday, June 30th at 9pm ET/PT.

Showtime Confirms DEXTER’S Upcoming Eighth Season Will Be Its Last; Watch a Clip from the Final Season

by     Posted 1 year, 248 days ago

It’s officially official, folks: Dexter has run its course.  While producers of the wildly popular Showtime series had previously stated that they began season seven with the intention that the show would come to an end at the conclusion of season eight, the network had yet to publicly confirm an end date.  Now Showtime has confirmed that the upcoming eighth season of Dexter will in fact be its last.  The Michael C. Hall-fronted series continues to be a ratings draw for the pay cable network, but its quality has been a bit of a roller coaster over the past few seasons.

The first teaser trailer for season eight hinted at the titular character hitting a breaking point this year, and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of endgame the producers have in mind given the events that transpired last season.  Yvonne Strahovski, who appeared in a multi-episode arc last year, is confirmed to be returning for this final season, so might Dex get a semi-happy ending after all?  We’ll find out for sure this summer when season eight of Dexter premieres on Sunday, June 30th.  Hit the jump to watch a sneak peek clip from the final season.

Kurt Russell, Peter Sarsgaard, Richard Jenkins and Jennifer Carpenter Join Horror Western BONE TOMAHAWK from Debut Director S. Craig Zahler

by     Posted 2 years, 52 days ago

Some interesting casting has shaped up for debut director S. Craig Zahler’s horror Western, Bone Tomahawk.  It looks like Kurt Russell (The Thing), Peter Sarsgaard (Green Lantern), Richard Jenkins (The Cabin in the Woods) and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) are all on board.  Bone Tomahawk “follows a sheriff (Russell), a gunslinger, a befuddled oldster (Jenkins) and a cowboy (Sarsgaard) as they attempt to rescue a group of captives (including Carpenter) from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes.”  If you ask me, there just aren’t enough movies with troglodytes these days.  Hit the jump for more.

Showtime’s Dexter returns later this month, and fans are understandably eager to see the fallout from the events of the season six finale.  A new behind-the-scenes featurette has landed online that features some tantalizing clips from season seven as well as interviews with castmembers like Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter talking about what to expect when the show returns.  I won’t get into specifics for fear of spoiling those that haven’t caught up, but fans of the series will definitely find this featurette quite interesting.

DEXTER Season 7 Trailer Promises More Blood, Courtesy of the Dark Passenger

by     Posted 2 years, 127 days ago

Every previous season of Showtime’s Dexter has been positively packed with tension and season seven is promising to continue that trend.  For those of you who haven’t caught up with the show, we’ll save the spoilers until after the jump.  Let’s just say that Dexter (Michael C. Hall) was in a tight spot at the end of season six.  While this happens nearly every season, the current predicament hits pretty close to home.  Unfortunately, the new trailer is super spoilery, so only go ahead and hit the jump if that doesn’t bother you.  Dexter, also starring Jennifer Carpenter, Lauren Velez, David Zayas, C.S. Lee and show newcomers Yvonne Strahovski, Ray Stevenson and Jason Gedrick, returns Sunday, September 30th at 9PM on Showtime.  Hit the jump to see the bloody new trailer.

First Poster and Images from DEXTER Season 7

by     Posted 2 years, 134 days ago

When we last left off with Showtime’s hit drama series Dexter, the titular serial killer was caught in a rather precarious position.  Though season six as a whole left much to be desired, the cliffhanger hinted that producers were taking the show in an exciting direction for season seven.  The upcoming season may or may not be the second to last installment of new episodes for the series (producers are keen on ending the series after season eight, but Showtime is hoping they’ll stretch things out to nine), so fans are hoping for some major developments in the new season.  The first poster and a batch of new images from season seven have been released, with the tagline on the poster offering a tantalizing clue as to where things may be headed.  Though a certain romantic subplot has me wary about how the story might play out, I’m hopeful that producers can bring the long-running series to a strong conclusion.

Hit the jump to take a look at the poster and images, which give us our first look at new cast members Yvonne Strahovski, Ray Stevenson, and Jason GedrickDexter season 7 premieres on Sunday, September 30th at 9pm EST on Showtime.

Showtime had their panel for Dexter earlier this evening at Comic-Con, and they previewed the first two minutes from the upcoming seventh season premiere for those in attendance.  The good news is that the network has released the footage online for everyone to see, and those caught up on the series are understandably eager to see the fallout from last season’s finale.  This sneak peek confirms that season seven begins immediately where season six left off.  Though I wasn’t thrilled about the season long arc last year, I’m interested to see how the series handles what happened in the finale.

DEXTER Season 7 Teaser Shows New Footage

by     Posted 2 years, 172 days ago

Showtime has released a short teaser trailer for season seven of Dexter featuring tons of never-before-seen footage.  The catch?  It all blurs by in about five seconds.  Try as I might, I wasn’t able to capture any images of the show’s newcomer, Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), so she may or may not be featured in the teaser.  People who are featured include Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, James Remar, C.S. Lee and Desmond Harrington. Obviously, if you haven’t caught up to the dramatic conclusion of the season six finale, you should steer clear of any of the following information as it contains heavy spoilersDexter returns to Showtime for its seventh season starting September 30th.  Hit the jump to check out the teaser.

Check out the New Trailer for Season Seven of DEXTER

by     Posted 2 years, 183 days ago

We just learned that Showtime is bringing Dexter back to Comic-Con in San Diego this year, so you can be sure there will be a great new trailer shown that will hint at the problems to come for everyone’s favorite serial killer, Dexter, played wonderfully by Michael C. Hall. However, until then, fans will have to settle for this new promo Showtime just released. There isn’t any footage from the new season, but it has a whole new voice-over from Dexter complete with somewhat of a recap from the last scene of season six. It’s definitely a spoiler for those who haven’t finished the last season, so proceed with caution. See the trailer after the jump.

DEXTER Renewed for Two More Seasons; Show Will Likely End After Season 8

by     Posted 3 years, 34 days ago

While negotiations for a seventh season of Showtime’s smash hit series Dexter came to a stalemate earlier last month, unsurprisingly all parties involved have finally come to an agreement as the network has renewed the show for two more seasons.  The series is the hallmark of Showtime’s original programming, and even though it’s in its sixth season the ratings continue to rise from week to week. While last season was a bit of a letdown following a series-best season four (fueled by a powerhouse performance by John Lithgow), I’ve been pretty happy with the story arcs in the current season. Hit the jump for more, including the likelihood of season eight being the show’s last.
