Parker stars Jason Statham as the title character, a modern-day Robin Hood who is double-crossed by his crew, and Jennifer Lopez as a novice who wants in on the action. You can check out this recent trailer for Parker here and see a lot more footage in the new featurette.
The film also stars Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce and Nick Nolte. Parker opens on January 25th, 2013. Hit the jump to check out the featurette and images.

The second full trailer for Ice Age: Continental Drift has been released. The fourth installment in the Ice Age franchise finds the kooky characters attempting to survive the breakup of Pangea, when Earth’s supercontinent begins to rift. Though I’m not the biggest fan of the series, there are more than a few laughs to be found in this latest trailer. The MVP of the franchise has always been John Leguizamo’s Sid the Sloth, and he shines in this latest clip. We also get a glimpse of the film’s antagonists, a gang of pirates led by a prehistoric orangutan voiced by Peter Dinklage.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The voice-cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Wedge, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, Joy Behar, JB Smoove, Alan Tudyk, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat, and hip/hop artist Nicki Minaj. Ice Age: Continental Drift opens in 3D on July 13th.

We’ve been provided with an exclusive new TV spot from What to Expect When You’re Expecting to share with our readers. The star-studded ensemble comedy tells the intertwining story of five couples that are having very different experiences while expecting babies. This new spot focuses on the different ways the soon-to-be fathers and mothers deal with impending parenthood, with a nice appearance by Rebel Wilson to liven things up.
Hit the jump to watch the spot. The film also stars Chris Rock, Rob Heubel, Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Lopez, Rodrigo Santoro, Joe Manganiello, Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker, Thomas Lennon, and Wendy McLendon-Covey. What to Expect When You’re Expecting opens on May 12th.

FilmDistrict has pushed back Taylor Hackford‘s Parker to January 25th. Based on the mystery novels by Donald Westlake, Parker stars Jason Statham as the eponymous thief, and co-stars Jennifer Lopez, Nick Nolte, Wendell Pierce, Clifton Collins Jr., and Michael Chiklis. The movie was originally set to open on October 12th where it would have faced (and probably lost to) the star-studded The Gangster Squad and the Kevin James comedy Here Comes the Boom.
January, long treated as a dumping ground for likely flops, has started to yield surprising returns. Modestly-budgeted movies like Contraband, Underworld Awakening, The Devil Inside, and The Grey all performed well at the box office, and Parker has the potential to do the same. Currently, the film’s only competition is the breakdancing flick Battle of the Year: The Dream Team (formerly Planet B) starring Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, and Josh Peck. [Box Office Mojo]

A new trailer for the star-filled feature version of What to Expect When You’re Expecting has arrived. When a trailer begins with the voiceover, “Having a baby can be a real mother,” it can only go uphill. The movie is essentially Valentine’s Day with babies, as we see a bunch of famous people deal with the ups and downs of pregnancy. Chris Rock and Rob Heubel continue to be the highlights of the footage, and this trailer inexplicably gets rid of all the female characters halfway through. I’m no expert, but I’m fairly certain that ladies are a vital necessity for the production of little humans.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The cast also includes Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Lopez, Rodrigo Santoro, Joe Manganiello, Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker, Thomas Lennon, and Wendy McLendon-Covey. What to Expect When You’re Expecting opens on May 12th.

A new trailer for the fourth installment in the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift, has gone online. In this adventure, Scrat accidentally triggers the breakup of Pangea and thus the splitting of the continents while pursuing that ever-elusive acorn (seriously, there are other acorns in the world, Scrat). This trailer highlights this entry’s newest inhabitants: the Gigantopithecus (an extinct genus of ape). I’m not the biggest fan of the series, but kids seem to love it and the movies make a great deal of money at the box office so I guess there’s an audience for the fourth entry.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The voice-cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Wedge, John Leguizamo, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, Joy Behar, JB Smoove, Alan Tudyk, Heather Morris, Josh Gad, Kunal Nayyar, Alain Chabat, and hip/hop artist Nicki Minaj. Ice Age: Continental Drift opens in 3D on July 13th.

We’re only a few short days away from the 84th Academy Awards, which means all that prognosticating and “fake controversy” business will finally come to an end on Monday morning. Until next year, that is. Nevertheless, a number of presenters have been announced over the past few weeks and we figured we’d bring you a full list of all the pretty celebrities scheduled to appear during Sunday night’s telecast. Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Emma Stone, The Muppets and the leading ladies from Bridesmaids will (hopefully) be bringing the funny, and today the Academy announced that last year’s winners in the acting categories will return to present. I really, really liked the way the awards were given out a few years back with past winners speaking directly to each of the nominees, so I’m hoping Christian Bale, Melissa Leo, Natalie Portman, and Colin Firth will be doing something similar.
Hit the jump to read the full list of presenters and performers, and be sure to check back this weekend to see how yours truly and Matt Goldberg think the awards will stack up in our predictions feature. Billy Crystal hosts the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26th.

Lionsgate has released five new character posters for What to Expect When You’re Expecting, the ensemble comedy about “five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood.” It’s a great way to see pregnant versions of Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker, and Anna Kendrick next to sassy taglines like, “If I knew I’d have a rack like this, I would’ve gotten knocked up years ago.” I kid, but I think there’s a chance this could be good. Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Falcone, Joe Manganiello, and Rob Huebel also star. What to Expect When You’re Expecting opens on May 12, 2011. The posters are after the break.

The first trailer for What to Expect When You’re Expecting has debuted and it’s actually not bad at all. Given the film’s large ensemble and multiple storyline style, I figured we were in for the Valentine’s Day of baby movies, but What to Expect actually looks like a solid comedy. The standouts here are Elizabeth Banks and Rob Heubel, with the latter playing a man who really, really shouldn’t be a father. Unlike Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve, this movie appears to be actually telling real stories with interesting characters, with some solid laughs thrown in for good measure.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The cast also includes Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock, Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker, Thomas Lennon, and Wendy McLendon-Covey. [Update: We've been sent a high resolution image from the film, which is now included after the jump].

Walden Media has acquired the feature rights to Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and they’re hoping Jennifer Lopez will help them answer the question. While I think Lopez could actually be a good choice to portray the anti-heroine, at this moment she’s only in talks to produce through her Nuyorican Productions. The project has been described as National Treasure meets The Thomas Crown Affair.
Originally starting as an educational computer game before turning into a cartoon series (and game show), Carmen Sandiego follows the titular anti-heroine as she travels the world stealing irreplaceable artifacts. Her former partner at the ACME Detective Agency must try to stay one step ahead of her and bring her in. Hit the jump for more.

Jennifer Lopez is in talks to star in two films, Parker and What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Jason Statham stars as the titular thief with a strict moral code in Parker, based on the Donald Westlake mystery novels that feature the character. Lopez is eying the female lead, Leslie, a woman who gets involved with Parker during a heist. Taylor Hackford (Love Ranch) will direct from a script John J. McLaughlin (Carnivàle) with the goal of launching an action franchise. Production is scheduled for August.
Lopez is in negotiations with Lionsgate to play Holly, a supporting role, in What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison star in the film, directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee). Expect What to Expect in theaters May 11, 2012. The script, said to be a romantic comedy in the style of Love Actually, is based on the bestselling book that informs mothers-to-be on all things pregnancy. Read a description of the contents after the jump.

Hot off the heels of being named the lead in The Bourne Legacy, Jeremy Renner has been tapped to join the voice cast of Ice Age: Continental Drift alongside fellow additions Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer and Drake. Returning for the fourth film in the Ice Age series are franchise staples Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck.
THR reports that Renner will portray Gutt, “a self-styled master of the high seas” while Lopez will take on the role of Shira, a sabre tooth and love interest for Leary’s character. Ice Age: Continental Drift is slated for July 13th, 2012, and given the commercial success of the franchise it’s safe to assume that more sequels will follow.

After much anticipation and speculation as to who would replace departing judges Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and most tragically Simon Cowell, Fox has finally announced what everyone online already seemed to know. Actress/pop star Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler have signed on as the new judges for the 10th season of the outrageously popular reality competition series American Idol. Meanwhile, record producer Randy Jackson is the only original judge and holdover from last season who has opted to return. Hit the jump for some quotes from the new judges:

Opening this weekend is the Jennifer Lopez & Alex O’Loughlin romantic comedy The Back-up Plan. To help promote the film, I recently got to interview the two stars as a reporter for our partners at Omelete. While I wasn’t sure what to expect when I sat down to do the interview, I’ll admit it turned out a lot better than I expected. Also, the interview featured a lot of laughter. Perhaps it was due to the questions I asked from the people that follow me on Twitter. But more than likely, it was a combo between the questions and good luck. Trust me, JLo was a lot funnier than I expected and I promise she’ll make you laugh as you watch. We even talked about Anaconda. I couldn’t believe it. Hit the jump for the interview and more on The Back-up Plan:

I think that, despite its conceptual unpopularity, there is a case to be made for the remake. But this news does not a case make. THR reports that Jennifer Lopez is in talks to star in an Overboard remake in the works at Columbia. The 1987 original starred couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in the nautical farce, in which the narrative is kinda dubiously driven by amnesia and a fake marriage. Lopez seems a good enough approximation for Hawn’s bubbly charm, though it’ll be difficult to come up with a 21st century Russell. Dream casting off the top of my head: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Thoughts?
After the jump you’ll find the trailer and full plot synopsis for the original, where you are free to form your own moral judgements on deceiving amnesiacs for the purposes of romantic comedy.
