Executive Producer Julie Plec Talks THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, Season 3 Finale, and More

On the last episode of The CW drama series The Vampire Diaries, called “Dangerous Liaisons,” viewers learned that the mother of the Original vampires is not quite as loving of her children as she appears. With her nefarious plan set in motion, thanks in part to Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and the blood of the doppleganger, things are sure to get more intense, leading up to the Season 3 finale.

During a recent interview to hint at what’s to come, executive producer/writer Julie Plec talked about the Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) love triangle that Elena is stuck in, exploring Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) humanity, whether or not any of the Originals will survive what’s been set in motion, where the Klaus and Caroline (Candice Accola) relationship could be headed and where that leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino), the unique position that Matt (Zach Roerig) is in as one of the only humans left in Mystic Falls,  what’s in store for Bonnie (Kat Graham) and her mother, how Alaric’s (Matthew Davis) ring failing is going to be causing some problems, that Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) will return before the end of the season, and that viewers cannot be certain about the fate of anyone. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Joseph Morgan THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Interview; Hopes the Writers Bring Back Klaus for Another Season

One of the biggest bad-asses on television is Original vampire Klaus on The CW drama series The Vampire Diaries. Played by Joseph Morgan, Klaus likes to use his charm to wreak havoc all over Mystic Falls, and makes life very unpleasant for Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), and all of their friends and family.

While at the TCA Winter Press Tour, actor Joseph Morgan talked about getting to play a character that’s lived through so many different eras (of which he’s enjoyed 1920′s Chicago the most), bringing the human element to the evil behavior that Klaus has become known for, that he’s been pushing for a love interest for some time now, that he hopes he’ll get to hang around on the show for awhile, and how he’d love to do a guest spot as a human survivor on the hit zombie series The Walking Dead. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Season Two Blu-ray Review

A show like The Vampire Diaries is easily dismissed; there seems to be no reason at all to tune in unless you’re a fifteen-year-old girl who really loves Edward Cullen, or a cable-less vampire lover. The latter might even be a bit of a stretch. What you’d be missing while under that assumption, however, is one of the most consistently good shows on network TV. Though the premise might be a little hard to swallow at first – especially if you’re not the target demographic of anything else the CW puts out – the show is worth the effort. Hidden behind a trite storyline is solid writing, intriguing storytelling, and one of the most frivolously addictive shows on air right now. 8 Clips from IMMORTALS Starring Henry Cavill and Mickey Rourke

We’ve been provided with eight clips from The Fall director Tarsem Singh’s new film Immortals. The pic centers on Theseus (Henry Cavill), a mortal, who teams up with the Greek gods in order to defeat the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). Instead of depicting the gods as ginormous otherworldly creatures, Singh has taken a different route and instead the gods take the form of chiseled immortal beings that don’t look dissimilar from humans.

The film also stars Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Joseph Morgan, Kellan Lutz, and Stephen DorffImmortals opens in 3D on November 11th and we’ll have exclusive interviews with the cast the week of release.  Hit the jump to watch the clips.

2 Exclusive Images from IMMORTALS Starring Henry Cavill

We’ve been given two exclusive images from Tarsem Singh’s upcoming sword-and-sandals action flick Immortals.  The film stars Henry Cavill (Superman in the upcoming Man of Steel) as Thesues, a mortal called by the gods to help them defeat the power-hungry Hyperion (Mickey Rourke).  Of these two images, I like the one with the guy getting the spear to the face because the helmet clearly isn’t protecting him.  The guy probably asked the blacksmith “Will this protect me against spears to the face?” and the blacksmith was all like, “Oh yeah, definitely.”  “Are you sure?  Because I really don’t want to get a spear in my face.”  “Dude, it’s got a visor and everything.  You’ll be fine.  Now get out there and fight that shirtless guy.”

This is probably why I didn’t get to write the script.  Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Joseph Morgan, Kellan Lutz, and Stephen Dorff.  Immortals opens in 3D on November 11th.

Exclusive: Joseph Morgan Talks THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and IMMORTALS

On the hit CW drama The Vampire Diaries, Welsh actor Joseph Morgan plays Klaus, the most evil and dangerous villain that Mystic Falls has seen, in the show’s two seasons. After completing the sacrifice ritual and re-awakening his werewolf side, the vicious Original vampire and his brother, Elijah (Daniel Gillies), disappeared into a ring of fire, leaving everyone in the town full of supernatural creatures wondering what to do next. Now, with the show’s producers revealing that Season 3 will be the season of the Originals, Klaus is sure to make a reappearance, at some point.

During a recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, Joseph Morgan talked about his desire to do American television, the point where he realized what an important part of the story Klaus was, the fun of playing a sociopathic villain, and what he would like to see from Klaus in Season 3. He also talked about his role as Lysander in the upcoming action fantasy Immortals (due out on November 11th), and what it was like working with Mickey Rourke. Thomas Dekker to Lead Indie Drama WASKA Co-Starring Jeremy Piven, Lynn Collins, and Kate Walsh

In what’s sure to be an uplifting tale on par with E.T. and commercials for the Olympics, Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Jeremy Piven, Lynn Collins, and Kate Walsh have all been cast in Waska, which is about a young father (Dekker) whose 3-year-old freezes to death on a fishing trip.  I believe we’ve found our feel-good film of 2010.

According to THR, “a local prosecutor (Piven) goes after him, townspeople like his ex-wife (Collins) rage at him and others support him as he attempts to makes sense of what happened.”  Mira Sorvino, Elizabeth McGovern, and Joseph Morgan also co-star in the film. Waska is based off a novel by Leslie Schwartz and is probably a great beach read.
