Opening this weekend is 21 and Over, a new alcohol-drenched frat house comedy that marks the directing debut of The Hangover scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. In the film, three high school buddies reunite to celebrate the youngest’s 21st birthday. And then things go horribly, horribly wrong. Alcohol poisoning, angry sorority sisters with twisted hazing rituals, stampeding buffalo and pratfalls from five stories ensue.
Last week, Collider sat down with Miles Teller (Footloose) and Justin Chon (Twilight) to discuss their wild roles in the comedy. During our interview, Teller and Chon discussed getting naked on film, Chon’s deep childhood traumas, Teller urinating on his friends, how I look like a skinny Bradley Cooper and much more. Relativity Media has released a large batch of new high-resolution images from the upcoming college comedy 21 and Over. Written and directed by The Hangover scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the film stars Justin Chon (Twilight) as a Straight-A student who, on the night of his 21st birthday, has strict orders from his father to rest up for his medical school interview the next morning. Things go awry when his best friends, played by Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) and Miles Teller (Footloose), surprise him and take him out for a night of debauchery. Though the film wasn’t initially on my radar, after seeing Teller’s incredible performance in the Sundance hit The Spectacular Now and Astin’s charming work in Pitch Perfect, I’m hoping we’re in for a great new entry in the college comedy genre.

Relativity has released a new trailer for 21 and Over, a comedy written and directed by The Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. The hijinks are kicked off when Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) and Miles Teller (Footloose) surprise their button-downed friend Justin Chon (Twilight) on his 21st birthday. Although he has an crucial medical school interview the next morning, you can imagine that the boys get into the kind of trouble that can only come from the writers who thought up The Hangover.
21 and Over has a likable young cast, a small touch that should help it land with its target audience (21 and under, natch). I see enough potential in this and the first to believe in a funny movie with just a bit of heart (friendship is important, guys), but not so much that I’d bet on it. Watch the trailer after the jump. 21 and Over opens on March 1, 2013.

New images have been released for the animated film Epic and the raunchy comedy 21 and Over. Both films seem to loudly echo previous flicks. Epic seems to be very much following in the footsteps of FernGully: The Last Rainforest and Avatar where an outsider learns that the forest is important to people who live in a forest. As for 21 and Over, writer/directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore have returned to the film that made them, The Hangover, with another story about how serious intoxication can lead to chaotic and hilarious consequences. Judging by the trailer, I’m hoping we get another surprisingly great college comedy like Van Wilder.
Hit the jump to check out the images. Epic opens in 3D on May 24, 2013 and features the voices of Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudekis, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, and Johnny Knoxville. 21 and Over opens March 1, 2013 and stars Miles Teller, Skyler Astin, and Justin Chon.

Earlier this week we saw the first trailer for the college comedy 21 and Over, and today we’re happy to debut two exclusive new images from the film. Written and directed by The Hangover scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the pic stars Justin Chon (Twilight) as a Straight-A student who, on the night of his 21st birthday, has strict orders from his father to rest up for his medical school interview the next morning. Things go awry when his best friends, played by Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) and Miles Teller (Footloose), surprise him and take him out for a night of debauchery. These new images tease some of fallout from said debauchery, as Chon’s character finds himself in a rather precarious position.

Relativity has released the first trailer for 21 and Over, a comedy written and directed by The Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. Things go awry when his best friends, played by Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) and Miles Teller (Footloose), surprise him and take him out for a night of debauchery. Naturally, things go wrong quickly. Essentially this looks like a college verison of The Hangover, only this time we’ll be following the increasingly outrageous events as they happen rather than simply seeing them in photo form during the credits. There are a few laughs here and there, and I’m encouraged by Astin and Teller’s previous work so hopefully we’re in for a fun college comedy.

Skylar Astin (Taking Woodstock) and Justin Chon (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) are in talks to join Miles Teller (Rabbit Hole) in the comedy 21 and Over. Variety provides the logline:
[21 and Over] follows two childhood friends who drag their straight-arrow buddy out to celebrate his 21st birthday the night before an all-important med school interview. As one beer leads to another, the evening spirals into an epic misadventure of debauchery and mayhem.
Chon will play the birthday boy; Teller and Astin will play the bad influences. Production on the directorial debut of The Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore is scheduled for later this summer. Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville Films are teaming with Relativity Media to produce.

Currently filming in downtown Los Angeles is Rock Jocks. Starring Felicia Day, Jason Mewes, Justin Chon, Doug Jones, Robert Picardo and YouTube superstar KevJumba (Kevin Wu), the film is a sci-fi comedy about a top-secret band of dysfunctional government employees responsible for shooting down Earth-destroying asteroids. From what I’ve been told, shooting wraps next Wednesday and they’re hoping to promote at this year’s Comic-Con.
While the poster is just a teaser, I’m a fan of some of the cast and hope the film turns out to be something worth watching. Hit the jump to check it out, and you can follow them on Twitter here.
