Heavy-hitters David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers) are teaming up for the doomsday-thriller, The Breach. Adapted from the Patrick Lee novel by Justin Rhodes, The Breach follows Travis Chase, a former cop and ex-convict who stumbles across a crashed 747 and a mysterious artifact that will determine the fate of the future. The screenplay is expected to divert from novel somewhat, but details are being kept under wraps. Goyer has not signed on to direct the picture, but the possibility is there for him. Warner Bros. has preemptively acquired the sci-fi spec script Second Son from newcomer Justin Rhodes. Former Nickelodeon president/producer Scott Aversano (Team America: World Police) is attached to produce the pic for the studio. Heat Vision doesn’t offer much in the way of details regarding the project, calling it an “adventure set on another planet with twists,” but does serve up a nice little bio for Rhodes who apparently made ends meet at his father’s accounting firm prior to hooking up with Aversano and now selling his script to Warner Bros. In addition to being handy with numbers, the scribe also has a background in low-budget film production having written and directed the 2009 actioner Contract Killers. Sarah Schechter will oversee Second Son for Warner Bros.
