The first trailer from writer/director Steven Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower has gone online.  The film adaptation of Chbosky’s acclaimed novel by the same name features Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) as an introverted high school freshman who finds acceptance in two senior students, played by Emma Watson (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin). Also starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd and Mae Whitman, The Perks of Being a Wallflower opens September 14th.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer.

A few weeks ago I got to see about twenty minutes from Screen Gems upcoming movie Legion.  While I didn’t see enough footage to say if the final film is going to be worth our time, one of the clips they showed us was great, and it just so happens Screen Gems released a clip from the scene today.  Since I’d rather not spoil it, hit the jump and check it out.  But I will say it involves a grandma named Gladys…

In what’s sure to be an uplifting tale on par with E.T. and commercials for the Olympics, Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Jeremy Piven, Lynn Collins, and Kate Walsh have all been cast in Waska, which is about a young father (Dekker) whose 3-year-old freezes to death on a fishing trip.  I believe we’ve found our feel-good film of 2010.

According to THR, “a local prosecutor (Piven) goes after him, townspeople like his ex-wife (Collins) rage at him and others support him as he attempts to makes sense of what happened.”  Mira Sorvino, Elizabeth McGovern, and Joseph Morgan also co-star in the film. Waska is based off a novel by Leslie Schwartz and is probably a great beach read.

Last week I went to Sony Studios for a set visit on Priest.  While I’m embargoed from saying anything on that film, while I was there, we were shown around 20 minutes from Screen Gems upcoming Legion, and we were also provided a number of new images from the film.

If you’re not familiar with Legion, it’s a supernatural action thriller where an out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race.  When God loses faith in Mankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse.  Humanity’s only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner and the Archangel Michael (Paul Bettany).   Legion also stars Dennis Quaid, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson, Kate Walsh, Adrianne Palicki, Charles S. Dutton and Willa Holland.
