Debuting as the most-watched new show (or any show) on the CW Network in three years, the superhero series Arrow appears to be right on target. The cast and crew of the show were on hand at New York Comic-Con to reveal a sneak peek at Arrow's first nine episodes. Centering on the return of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), a young Starling City billionaire feared lost at sea, Arrow follows his exploits as the masked vigilante, Green Arrow. While common criminals are learning to fear his name, the upcoming episodes feature a host of named villains, such as Deadshot, Deathstroke, The Huntress and China White. Hit the jump to see them in the NYCC exclusive footage.

Check out the sneak peek at the first nine episodes of Arrow below, followed by the full press release:

The Tournament comes out of the gates guns blazing/blood splattering and for 90 minutes keeps that momentum going. It is one of those rare straight-to-DVD action films that avoids looking super low budget and lame, features a cast of pretty well-known actors and a contains a heaping helping of blood, bullets, as well as some awesome stunts. But is there some higher meaning to the film or any redeeming qualities outside of mindless violence?

Find out in my Blu-ray review, after the jump.

The Tournament has a premise we’ve all heard before in some form. Every seven years, thirty of the world’s best assassins arrive in an undisclosed city and fight to the death to win the title of “Worlds Greatest Assassin,” while rich a-holes bet on them in a secret room as the mayhem is broadcast via closed-circuit cameras. Each assassin has a tracking device sewn into their bodies so they can tell where each other are, these tracking devices also double as a detonator (in case there is more than one assassin standing at the end of the 24-hour tournament).

If it sounds like a cocktail of Battle Royale mixed with Death Race and a dash of Smokin’ Aces, that’s exactly what the movie feels like. And you know what? That’s exactly why I had a blast watching it!

The plot centers on Father MacAvoy (Robert Carlyle) who has unwittingly joined the tournament after accidentally swallowing another assassin’s discarded GPS tracker and Lai Lai Zhen (Kelly Hu) who is trying to win ...

We just noticed, but the first trailer for Scott Manns "The Tournament" popped up on YouTube. Its got Russian watermarks and subtitles, so something tells me this thing shouldnt even be on the interweb. Either way, it looks like a fairly competent action flick starring Robert Carlyle, Ving Rhames, Ian Somerhalder and Kelly Hu blasting everything in their path to hell. Synopsis and trailer after the jump.

Every seven years in an unsuspecting town, The Tournament takes place. A battle royale between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins. The last man standing receiving the $10,000,000 cash prize and the title of Worlds No 1, which itself carries the legendary million dollar a bullet price tag.
-

The trailer shows the assassins duking it out in typical balls-to-the-wall, shoot-everything- in-sight fashion. Robert Carlyle looks to be an innocent priest mistaken for an assassin, caught in the middle of the carnage and desperate for a way out (but lets start taking bets now on whether or not his character is ACTUALLY a priest). Ving Rhames is, of course, the ultimate hardass, and itll be great to see him back in form.

Overall, it makes for a pretty slick trailer, but since this will be Manns first major release, time will tell whether the film has legs. Theres no release date set as the trailer may or may not have been legitimately released, but well make sure to let me know as soon as more info is available.
