While it’s been awhile since we’ve posted a “Geek Gifts” article, I’m going to try and post more of them in the future. While I know a lot of you aren’t exactly willing to spend $200 dollars on a limited edition figure of Loki from The Avengers, I’m hoping many of you still find it fun to take a gander. Based on the hits, I’ll know if we should post more or less of these types of articles.
Anyway, Hot Toys (which makes some awesome stuff) has just released images and info on their awesome looking Movie Masterpiece Series Loki Sixth Scale Figure from The Avengers. As you’ll see in the images, “the movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Tom Hiddleston as Loki in the movie, highlighting the newly developed head sculpt, highly detailed costume, weapons and accessories.” Hit the jump for more.
With New York City Toy Fair in full swing, tons of images and info about upcoming products have hit the net over the past 24 hours. Already we’ve seen the upcoming Hasbro Avengers toys, the G.I. Joe: Retaliation figures, and all the 2012 Star Wars toys. Now, thanks to Marvel, we’ve got some great looks at the upcoming LEGO Avengers toys. However, if you’re trying to stay spoiler free, you might not want to see the pictures, as they reveal a few key scenes in the movie. Hit the jump for more.
If there was any debate if Loki was the main villain in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers movie, Tom Hiddleston ended it today. That’s because backstage at D23 (essentially Disney’s Comic-Con), I got to speak with Hiddleston and he told me:
“Loki goes toe to toe with every superhero. I have had a one on one with Robert Downey Jr. A one on one with Chris Hemsworth. A one on one with Scarlett. A one on one with Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Sam Jackson. And it’s so exciting to see how the different chemistry is. Not just between the actors. So my one on one with Robert becomes a battle of wit’s and words. My one on one with Chris Hemsworth ends up in both of us knocking ten bells (I think that’s what he said) again because that’s how we communicate. It’s been the most exciting thing I’ve ever done. It’s giant and will be amazing.”
Hit the jump to watch the interview. He also tells a great story about the restaurant Chili’s and seeing movies in Albuquerque.
