Wednesday TV Ratings: ARROW Finale Down from Season 1; MODERN FAMILY and NASHVILLE Rise

TV ratings for Wednesday, May 14th are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The season two finale of The CW’s Arrow was even with last week’s 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.33 million viewers, though it was down 11% from the season one finale’s 0.9 rating.  The 100  matched last week’s 0.6 rating and notched 1.77 million viewers.  Read Dave’s recap of Arrow here.
  • ABC’s Modern Family was up 7% with a 3.1 rating and 8.79 million viewers, The Middle rose 19% to a 1.9 rating and 6.85 million viewers, Mixology matched last week’s 1.3 rating and garnered 3.92 million viewers, the season finale of Nashville was up one tenth to a 1.3 rating and 5.02 million viewers, and the series finale of Suburgatory rose 15% to a 1.5 rating and 5 million viewers.
  • NBC’s cancelled Revolution was even with last week’s 1.1 rating and notched 4 million viewers, Law & Order: SVU held stead with a 1.5 rating and 5.29 million viewers, and Chicago P.D. rose 14% to a 1.6 rating and 6.06 million viewers.
  • The season finale of Criminal Minds on CBS hit a 2.7 rating and pulled in 11.96 million viewers for a rise of 17%.

TV ratings for Wednesday, April 30th are in.  Here’s a brief look at the highlights:

  • The CW’s Arrow rose 14% from last week’s series low 0.7 rating to a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demo, garnering 2.25 million viewers.  The 100, meanwhile, was even with last week’s 0.6 rating and scored 1.9 milion viewers.  Read Dave’s Arrow recap here.
  • ABC’s Nashville returned to a series low 1.2 rating and 4.49 million viewers, which is down 20% from its last original episode’s 1.5 rating.

TV ratings for Wednesday, April 23rd have been released.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The CW’s Arrow was even with last week’s series low 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.19 million viewers, despite apparently game-changing events occurring.  Read Dave’s recap here and click here for our interview with the show’s executive producer about the fallout from the episode.  Elsewhere on The CW, The 100 rose a tenth to a 0.6 rating and notched 1.94 million viewers.
  • ABC’s Modern Family ticked up a tenth to a 3.4 rating and scored 9.25 million viewers, The Middle dropped two tenths to a 1.8 rating and 6.85 million viewers, Suburgatory was down a tenth to a 1.6 rating and 5.25 million viewers, and Mixology rose three tenths to a 1.5 rating and garnered 4.15 million viewers.

TV ratings for Wednesday, April 16th are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The CW’s Arrow fell 13% from last week’s 0.8 rating to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.36 million total viewers.  That rating ties the show’s series low, which it previous hit in early March.  Read Dave’s recap of last night’s episode here.
  • Elsewhere on The CW, new drama series The 100 saw a rise of 20% to a 0.6 rating and 2.02 million viewers, improving on last week’s series low 0.5 rating.
  • Over on ABC, the new comedy series Mixology was even with last week’s 1.2 rating and garnered 3.7 million viewers.

TV ratings for Wednesday, April 9th have arrived.  Read a brief rundown below:

  • The CW’s new drama series The 100 dropped a tenth from last week to a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 1.75 million viewers, which marks a low for the freshman series.
  • ABC’s new comedy Mixology suffered a steep drop from last week’s 1.6 rating, falling to a 1.1 rating and 3.34 million viewers.
  • Over on NBC, Law & Order: SVU was up three tenths to a 2.0 rating and 7.27 million viewers, while Chicago PD was even with last week’s 1.6 rating and scored 6.52 million viewers.
  • CBS’ Criminal Minds dipped three tenths to a 2.3 rating and garnered 9.81 million viewers, and CSI was down a tenth to a 1.7 rating and pulled in 9.08 million viewers.

  • The CW’s Arrow rose a tenth from last week to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.57 million viewers, while The 100 dropped two tenths to a 0.7 rating and scored 2.26 million viewers.  Read Dave’s Arrow recap here.
  • ABC’s The Middle dipped one tenth to a 1.9 rating and 7.07 million viewers, Suburgatory dropped two tenths to a series low-tying 1.4 rating and 4.87 million viewers, Modern Family ticked up a tenth to a 3.5 rating and 9.69 million viewers, Mixology rose half a ratings point to a 1.7 rating and scored 4.90 million viewers, and Nashville dropped one tenth to a 1.3 rating and scored 5.06 million viewers.

TV ratings for Wednesday, March 19th are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The CW’s Arrow ticked up 13% to a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.36 million viewers, while the premiere of The 100 whit a 0.9 rating and scored 2.66 million viewers, which is even with the premiere of The Tomorrow People and up 125% over the most recent new episode of Tomorrow People.  Read Dave’s Arrow recap here.
  • Over on NBC, Revolution dropped 8% to a series low 1.2 rating and scored 4.3 million viewers, Law & Order: SVU dipped 6% to a 1.5 rating and 5.65 million viewers, and Chicago P.D. was down 13% to a series low 1.4 rating and 5.67 million viewers.  The network announced some drama series renewals last night, including Chicago P.D., but the fate of Revolution is still in the air.
  • ABC’s new series Mixology dropped 20% to a series low 1.2 rating and 3.6 million viewers.
  • CBS’ Criminal Minds was down 4% to a series low-tying 2.2 rating and 10.09 million viewers, while CSI was even with last week’s 2.0 rating and scored 10.09 million viewers.

TV ratings for Wednesday, March 12th have arrived.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • ABC’s Modern Family notched a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 9.08 million viewers for a drop of one tenth from last week’s rating.  Elsewhere at the network, The Middle was even with last week’s 1.9 rating and scored 7.17 million viewers, Suburgatory dropped three tenths to a series low-tying 1.4 rating and 5.18 million viewers, Mixology dropped two tenths to a 1.5 rating and 4.22 million viewers, and Nashville closed out the night down one tenth to a 1.4 rating and 4.93 million viewers.
  • Over on NBC, Revolution was even with last week’s series low 1.3 and garnered 4.69 million viewers, Law & Order: SVU matched last week’s 1.6 rating and scored 6.25 million viewers, and Chicago PD rose a tenth to a 1.6 rating and brought in 5.85 million viewers.
  • Fresh off renewals for both series, CBS’ Criminal Minds hit a 2.3 rating and 10.72 million viewers for a drop of three tenths and CSI rose three tenths to a 2.0 rating and 10 million viewers.

TV ratings for Wednesday, March 5th, are in.  Here’s a brief rundown:

  • The CW’s Arrow was down 22% to a series low 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.19 million viewers.  The Tomorrow People also hit a series low, dropping 20% to a 0.4 rating and 1.33 million viewers.  Read Dave’s recap of Arrow here.
  • Over on ABC, The Middle was up 12% to a 1.9 rating and 7.15 million viewers, Suburgatory rose 21% to a 1.7 rating and 5.57 million viewers, Modern Family ticked up 6% to a 3.3 rating and 9.01 million viewers, Mixology dipped 6% to a 1.6 rating and 4.48 million viewers, and Nashvile rose 8% to a 1.4 rating and 4.85 million viewers.
  • NBC’s Revolution matched last week’s series low 1.3 rating and scored 4.77 million viewers, Law & Order: SVU dropped 20% to a 2.0 rating and 6.03 million viewers, and Chicago P.D. dropped 15% to a series low-tying 1.5 rating and 6.07 million viewers.
  • CBS’ Criminal Minds garnered a 2.6 rating and 11.37 million viewers for a rise of 18%, while CSI was down 15% to a 1.7 rating and 9.19 million viewers.

TV ratings for Wednesday, February 26th, are in.  Briefly:

  • The CW’s Arrow hit a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored 2.46 million viewers, dipping one tenth from its last episode.  The Tomorrow People, on the other hand, matched its last episode’s 0.5 rating and garnered 1.51 million viewers.  Read Dave’s recap of Arrow here.
  • Over on NBC, Revolution matched its last episode’s series low 1.3 rating and notched just 4.59 million viewers, Law & Order: SVU was up two tenths to a 2.0 rating and 7.7 million viewers, and Chicago PD rose half a ratings point to a 2.2 rating and 8.03 million viewers.
  • ABC’s series premiere of Mixology was the lowest-rated premiere in the post-Modern Family slot ever, hitting only a 1.8 rating and 5.22 million viewers.  Elsewhere on the network, Modern Family dropped to a season low 3.1 rating and 8.57 million viewers, Suburgatory dropped to a season low-tying 1.5 rating and 5.3 million viewers, and The Middle also tied its season low with a 1.8 rating and 7.1 million viewers.
  • CBS’ Criminal Minds dropped two tenths to a 2.3 rating and 9.5 million viewers.

Fresh off the announcement of its primetime 2013-14 schedule this morning, ABC has released first-look trailers for all of its new series.  We already shared the full trailer for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but here are the other new shows that we’ll be looking at today:

  • Once Upon a Time in Wonderland – The spinoff series of the network’s fantasy show stars Sophie Lowe as the titular Alice and features John Lithgow as the voice of the White Rabbit.
  • Trophy Wife – A mixed family comedy starring Malin Akerman as a reformed party girl who must contend with her new husband’s (Bradley Whitford) numerous ex-wives.
  • Betrayal – A drama series starring Hannah Ware and Stuart Townsend as new lovers who find themselves on opposite sides of a murder investigation.
  • Killer Women – A midseason drama series starring Tricia Helfer as the only female Texas Ranger patrolling the Texas frontier.
  • Mind GamesSteve Zahn and Christian Slater star in this midseason drama procedural about two brothers who use the hard science of psychological manipulation to solve clients’ problems.
  • Mixology – From the screenwriters behind The Hangover, this ensemble comedy stars Blake Lee and Andrew Santino and centers on ten single people who cross paths in a bar.
  • Resurrection – The people in a small Missouri town are forever changed when their deceased love ones suddenly start to return.  Omar Epps stars in this midseason drama series.
  • Lucky 7 - A drama series about seven friends who unexpectedly win the lottery.  Isiah Whitlock Jr. stars.
  • And the new comedies Super Fun Night (starring Rebel Wilson), The Goldbergs (starring Jeff Garlin), and Back in the Game (starring James Caan).

ABC Announces 2013-14 Schedule; S.H.I.E.L.D. Slated for Tuesdays, ONCE UPON A TIME Spinoff Set for Thursdays, SUBURGATORY Held for Midseason

And the upfronts madness continues.  ABC has announced its schedule for the 2013-14 TV season, and there are a few shakeups to be found.  Here are some of the highlights:

  • The highly-anticipated Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will kick off Tuesday night’s programming at 8pm ET, followed by a block of entirely new series including The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, and Lucky 7.
  • The Once Upon a Time spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland will run concurrently with the original series, as it will air Thursday nights at 8pm ET.
  • Rebel Wilson’s new series Super Fun Night will air in the coveted post-Modern Family slot on Wednesday nights.
  • The reality competition show Dancing With the Stars has been cut back to one night a week, with the results show scrapped entirely.
  • The Neighbors has been moved from Wednesdays to Fridays, where it will air after Last Man Standing at 8:30pm ET.
  • Returning comedy series Suburgatory is being held for midseason, so don’t expect to see it until after the new year.
  • As previously reported, the Pixar special Toy Story of Terror will air later this year.
