Even though Monsters University is only a few months away, Pixar has been keeping the voice cast under wraps. Today, EW is reporting that Nathan Fillion, John Krasinski, and Bonnie Hunt will be voicing new monsters in the upcoming prequel. Fillion and Krasinski are newcomers to the Pixar world, but Hunt has been a longtime collaborator with the studio having voiced characters in A Bug’s Life, Cars, Toy Story 3, and Monsters, Inc. (although she’ll be voicing a new character).
Hit the jump for descriptions of Fillion, Krasinski, and Hunt’s characters, along with some new images. The film also features the voices of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Helen Mirren, Dave Foley, Sean Hayes, Joel Murray, Peter Sohn, Aubrey Plaza, Tyler Labine, Bobby Moynihan, Julie Sweeney, Alfred Molina, Beth Behrs, and of course, John Ratzenberger. Disney has released new character posters and ID cards for Pixar’s upcoming Monsters, Inc. prequel, Monsters University. The film goes back to Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan’s (John Goodman) college days, and shows how the two overcame their differences and became BFFs. These new posters and ID cards provide some names to the monsters we saw in the recent trailer. Having the conjoined-twins-monsters named “Terri & Terry Perry” is a nice touch.

John Goodman was a guest on last night’s episode of Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel, and he brought a clip from his upcoming film, Monsters University. The film goes back to Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan’s (Goodman) college days, and shows how the two overcame their differences and became BFFs. In the clip, we see the first meeting between the two, and how Mike was uptight, Sulley was laid-back, and an escaped monster-pig was involved. The clip doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, but the latest trailer had some good moments, so let’s keep hope alive.

We previously showed you an extended featurette that explained the plot points, but this new trailer avoids spoiling the story, and instead goes for laughs. There are some good jokes in here, and I’m hoping the movie will offer plenty more.

Disney has released new images from Monsters University. Like we saw in previous images and trailer, these new images show that Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) was a nerd, and Sulley (John Goodman) was his frat boy tormentor. Monsters University is the story of how they went from enemies to besties. ““They both approach life in different ways,” producer Kori Rae tells EW. “Mike is the go-getter type, anything is possible, and he’s the super-hard worker. Sulley is different because he’s a great scarer, he has this natural ability, but Mike has to work for it.”
