If you’ve got a fetish for nurses than boy is today your day! The first trailer for co-writer and director Douglas Aarniokoski’s Nurse 3D is now online. The picture stars Paz de la Huerta (Enter the Void) as Abby, an unassuming nurse by day and a murderous man-eater by night. When rookie nurse Danni (Katrina Bowden of 30 Rock) begins to suspect Abby of flaying the philanderers, she lands herself square in the crosshairs of the killer nurse.
Also starring Corbin Bleu, Boris Kodjoe and Judd Nelson, Nurse 3D opens in theaters and will be available on demand starting February 7th. Hit the jump to check out the trailer.
We have a few new posters for you today. First up, it’s a blending of the character posters for David O. Russell‘s terrific-looking film, American Hustle. It doesn’t pop off the page, but the font gives the uninitiated an understanding of the time period, and it doesn’t hurt to have a glamorous Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence flanking your leading man. Far less glamorous and classy is the poster for the horror film Nurse 3D. I understand it’s trying to evoke the art on World War II bombers, but the movie has nothing to do with that time period. It’s just pandering, and not doing it very well. Finally, there’s the poster for I, Frankenstein, which bears the tagline, “200 Years Later, He’s Still Alive”. Imagine Colin Clive (from the 1931 movie) shouting that line and it loses some of its potency.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. American Hustle opens December 18th, Nurse 3D opens February 7, 2014, and I, Frankenstein opens in 3D on January 24, 2014.
We have several bits of casting news to bring your way tonight. First up, Scoot McNairy (upcoming Cogan’s Trade) has joined the cast of director/star Ben Affleck’s Argo. In addition to Affleck, McNairy will also appear alongside Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, and Alan Arkin in the Warner Bros. pic that is based upon a 2007 article from Wired magazine. Chris Terrio adapted the Joshuah Bearman piece entitled “How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans from Tehran” which tells the rescue story of six U.S. diplomats in 1979. Variety scooped the news of McNairy’s casting, but doesn’t divulge any details regrading his character. The film is currently eyeing a 2012 release.
Next up, High School Musical‘s Corbin Bleu is taking his talents from an educational setting to a medical one. The actor has signed on to star alongside Paz De La Huerta and 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden in Lionsgate’s horror flick Nurse 3D. According to Variety, Bleu will take on the role of Bowden’s boyfriend (poor guy), who gets caught up in (a.k.a. most likely murdered) the violent outbursts of De La Huerta’s character, Abby. In case you want to learn a little more about the film, this NSFW concept art should pretty much tell you all you need to know. Nurse 3D is also aiming for an unspecified 2012 release. Lionsgate has released a first-look at actress Paz de la Huerta (Boardwalk Empire) in character for their upcoming pyscho-sexual 3D thriller (ie. porn) Nurse 3D. The “concept art” consists of de la Huerta naked, covered in blood, wearing a nurse’s hat. Apparently the concept art will be used as “a style guide and character inspiration,” because style and character are the two things most pyscho-sexual 3D thrillers are lacking. Directed by Douglas Aarniokoski, the film centers on a dedicated nurse who “targets and punishes dishonest men” in her spare time.
