Image Entertainment has released the first images from The Double.  The flick centers on a former CIA operative (Richard Gere) who’s called out of retirement and must team up with a rookie FBI agent (Topher Grace) when a US senator turns up dead and bearing the distinctive trademark of a Russian assassin known as “Cassius”.  I’m always up for a good spy thriller and I tend to think Grace is fantastic in everything.  The film also stars Martin Sheen, Stephen Moyer, Odette Yustman, and Stana Katic.

Odette Annable Talks BREAKING IN at WonderCon

Odette Annable interview BREAKING IN WonderCon 2011 slice 2

With Fox’s new workplace comedy Breaking In premiering tonight after American Idol, the network brought most of the cast (Christian Slater, Bret Harrison, Odette Yustman and Alphonso McAuley) and executive producers Adam Goldberg (Fanboys) and Doug Robinson (Rules of Engagement) to WonderCon.  It’s about a high-tech security firm that takes extreme – and often questionable – measures to sell its protection services.

While the show was on my radar, after learning about an upcoming episode, I’m definitely tuning in.  So what sold me?  In the next few weeks they do a Comic-Con show where Contra Security (where they work) is hired to transport Goonies 2: The Legend of Sloth so it doesn’t get pirated.  Any show that works in a sequel to The Goonies has me.

Before the panel I got to speak with Annable about the show.  We talked WonderCon, what does she geek out over, the differences between working on a movie and a TV show, the premise of Breaking In and who she plays, upcoming guest stars, working with Christian Slater and how True Romance is her favorite movie, and a lot more.

The horror thriller And Soon the Darkness follows two American girls, Stephanie (Amber Heard) and Ellie (Odette Yustman), who decide to take a vacation to an exotic village in Argentina for the perfect girl’s getaway, to bask in the sun, shop and flirt with the handsome locals. While there, they embark on a bike tour through a remote part of the countryside, but after an argument, Stephanie heads out alone and, upon her return, discovers that Ellie has disappeared. Finding signs of a struggle, Stephanie fears the worst and turns to the police for help and learns about a string of unsolved kidnappings targeting young female tourists. Stephanie quickly questions her ability to trust anyone and realizes that she must find her friend before time runs out and her worst fears are realized.

In a recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, to promote the film’s release on DVD and Blu-ray on December 28th, writer/director Marcos Efron talked about re-imagining the original 1970 British film, casting Amber Heard and Odette Yustman in the lead roles, selecting locations in more remote parts of Argentina, why vacation gone wrong stories are so popular with viewers, and the deleted scenes, video diary and audio commentary that are included in the special features. He also discussed developing two upcoming projects, one of which is an adaptation of a young adult novel that he described as Logan’s Run meets 1984. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

OPERATION: ENDGAME Blu-Ray Review

by     Posted 3 years, 235 days ago

When a film has an eclectic cast including the talents of Rob Corddry, Zach Galifianakis, Maggie Q, Jeffrey Tambor, Ving Rhames, Emilie de Ravin, Adam Scott, Odette Yustman, Ellen Barkin, Brandon T. Jackson and Joe Anderson you’re either in for something fantastic or a complete disaster. Though the fact that this title went straight-to-DVD is somewhat of an indicator, there’s certainly a battle to be fought in deciding whether action and comedy come together to form an entertaining flick. So how does this story of two feuding teams of government assassins fare? Find out after the jump.

Stana Katic and Odette Yustman Join Spy Thriller THE DOUBLE

by     Posted 3 years, 317 days ago

Michael Brandt’s The Double has gotten a double-dose of hotness as Stana Katic (ABC’s Castle) and Odette Yustman (The Unborn) have joined the cast of the upcoming spy thriller.  The story follows a retired CIA operative (Richard Gere) who partners with a young FBI agent (Topher Grace) to track down the killer of a senator.  Stephen Moyer (True Blood) signed on to the project earlier this week.

Katic will play “a feisty Russian prostitute who fiercely protects key information.”  You had me at “feisty Russian prostitute.”  As for Yustman, she’ll being playing “Grace’s character’s wife, a strong woman who raises a family while coping with her husband’s Bureau career.”  Filming is set to begin June 21st in Detroit.  Hit the jump for images of these two actresses being all sexy and stuff.

THE UNBORN DVD Review

by     Posted 4 years, 265 days ago

slice the_unborn_movie_image_odette_yustman.jpg

The Unborn is an example of how the theatrical trailers trump up a better experience than the film itself is able to offer. Though seemingly terrifying from the three minute clip in theaters, the flick is deluded with mediocrity, sporadic storytelling, cliché hooks, and heartless characters performed by less that convincing actors. My review is after the jump:
