With Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s This is The End opening June 14, the filmmakers and Sony are about to ramp up the promotional machine by releasing a red band trailer tonight, and a green band trailer later this week. However, while you wait for new footage from their great looking end of the world R rated comedy that stars everyone in Hollywood (Rogen, Jonah Hill, James Franco, Jason Segel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera, Emma Watson, Paul Rudd, Jay Baruchel, Mindy Kaling, Kevin Hart, Martin Starr and more), how about getting to see the first footage from Pineapple Express 2! While clearly an April Fool’s gag and obviously made on the set of This is The End during a lunch break, getting to see Rogen, Franco, McBride and Robinson reprise their characters is still a lot of fun. Hit the jump to watch and check back later for the new red band trailer.
Funnyman actor Seth Rogen is taking on hosting duties for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards, being held in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica on February 25th. To promote the gig, he spoke to members of the press about why he thought it seemed like a fun thing to do.
During the interview, Seth Rogen talked about being as nervous about flubbing or tipping while hosting as he is in any element of his life, that he’s been watching all of the nominated movies in preparation, the hosting advice he’s gotten from Judd Apatow, what films he responded to in 2011 (Take Shelter and Drive) and what he’s looking forward to this year (The Dark Knight Rises), the TV shows he enjoys watching (Breaking Bad, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation), and that Pineapple Express is his favorite film that he’s done. He also talked about how his directorial debut, The Apocalypse, is coming along, that he’d like to do a Kung Fu Panda 3, that he doesn’t know if there will ever be a Pineapple Express 2, and that he doesn’t think there’s any chance of there ever being a Freaks and Geeks movie. Check out what he had to say after the jump:
Let’s face it: the holidays are here and most people’s brains are already on vacation. Since it’s just too hard to come up with an original movie idea right now, a lot of talk has turned to potential sequels. Some franchises, like Gremlins and Mission: Impossible already have more than one movie in the books while others, such as Colombiana and Pineapple Express are open to sequels just because they can be. So we’ve ransacked the internets to find some updates on sequels you’ve been dying to see and others you never dreamed of being produced. Hit the jump to check them out.
Danny McBride told me there is a scene in the upcoming David Gordon Green medieval comedy Your Highness where Natalie Portman asks him if his pussy hurts. If you weren’t excited to see Green’s follow up to Pineapple Express, I don’t know what else will convince you after finding out that Natalie Portman says incredibly dirty and disgusting things to both Danny McBride and James Franco.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Two days ago, I sat down with Danny McBride for an exclusive interview to help promote Jason Reitman’s awesome movie Up in the Air. But while we spent a few minutes on that film, we spent the majority of our time talking about the next season of Eastbound & Down and his upcoming film Your Highness, which he just wrapped in Belfast. So if you’d like to read or listen to a great interview with Danny McBride, hit the jump!
