First FOCUS Posters Feature Will Smith and Margot Robbie as Con Artists; New Trailer Coming Tomorrow

by     Posted 7 hours ago

Warner Bros. has released a pair of new Focus posters for Crazy, Stupid, Love. directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s upcoming caper in anticipation of a new trailer coming tomorrow.  The film revolves around a seasoned con man named Nicky (Will Smith) who becomes romantically involved with Jess, a novice con artist (Margot Robbie), only to subsequently break things off when she gets too close for comfort.  Three years later, Jess—now an accomplished femme fatale—pops back into Nicky’s life, throwing his latest scheme into jeopardy. The first trailer teased a more dramatic tone than I was expecting, but the film has been described as a “comedy-caper-love story” so I imagine there’s some humor to the interplay between Smith and Robbie that we’ve yet to see.  As an added bonus, the picture gives us a preview of what to expect when the two actors team up in the DC supervillain pic Suicide Squad.

Check out the new Focus posters after the jump and come back to Collider tomorrow to see the new trailer.  The film also stars Rodrigo Santoro and Gerald McRaneyFocus opens in theaters on February 27, 2015.

Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and More Destroy Famous Cities in First PIXELS Posters

by     Posted 5 days ago

Sony Pictures has unveiled the first Pixels posters for director Chris Columbus’ upcoming adventure film, and fans of a few arcade games in particular will recognize the principal characters on display.  The comedy stars Adam Sandler and revolves around a group of 80s arcade game champions who are called upon to help defend Earth from alien invaders who have misinterpreted our classic arcade games as a declaration of war.  Columbus has years of experience in both the comedy (Home Alone) and adventure (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) realms, and Sandler’s supporting cast is filled out by talented actors like Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, and Josh Gad, so I’m actually pretty hopeful about how this thing turns out.  This debut poster is a fine start.

Mondo Unveils New Posters for THE HOBBIT, Plus Aaron Horkey’s THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING

by     Posted 6 days ago

This week marks the release of the final (we think) J.R.R. Tolkein film of the Peter Jackson era, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.  In concert with the film’s debut, the folks at Mondo are releasing a few new custom prints, including The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey by Ken Taylor and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug by Nicolas Delort.  The main event, though, is the final poster in artist Aaron Horkey’s three-year Lord of the Rings series, an absolutely gorgeous print for The Fellowship of the Ring.  This thing is incredibly rich with color and detail, and I imagine it’ll sell out very fast.  All three posters will be available at a random time on Tuesday, December 16th.

Get a closer look at the Hobbit Mondo posters after the jump along with Horkey’s stunning Fellowship of the Ring print.

New JUPITER ASCENDING Character Posters for Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Eddie Redmayne and Sean Bean

by     Posted 10 days ago

A new batch of character posters for Lana and Andy Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending just surfaced and while they aren’t great, they are far better than the last set.  This time around we’ve got designs for Mila Kunis as Jupiter Jones, Channing Tatum as Caine and ones for Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne’s characters as well.  You have to look pretty closely to catch this, but while three of the posters have the Jupiter Ascending hashtag on them, Bean’s has this URL printed on it –  There isn’t much doing on the site right now, but that will likely change big time leading up to the release, so better keep an eye on it.

Hit the jump to check out all four Jupiter Ascending character posters.  The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on February 6, 2015.  It also stars Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, James D’Arcy, Tim Pigott-Smith and Doona Bae.

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE Gets a Leg Up From 4 New Character Posters

by     Posted 25 days ago

20th Century Fox has released four new character posters for Kingsman: The Secret Service.  The story centers on “a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.”  Having loved both the first trailer and the second trailer these posters are definitely in keeping with the established aesthetic, which I’m digging.

Hit the jump for the Kingsman: The Secret Service character posters.  Colin FirthSamuel L. JacksonMichael Caine and Taron Egerton star in the new film from director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-AssX-Men: First Class).  Jane Goldman and Vaughn adapted the script based on the comic book by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.  Also be sure to check out our interview with Firth and Jackson.  Kingsman: The Secret Service hits US theaters on February 13th.

First WARCRAFT Movie Posters Recruit for the Alliance or the Horde

by     Posted 44 days ago

Universal Pictures has released the first two Warcraft movie posters for director Duncan Jones’ (Moon) upcoming adaptation of the incredibly popular video game World of Warcraft.  The two teaser posters were unveiled today at the WoW convention BlizzCon, and they tease the two major factions of the Warcraft world.  The Alliance is made up of the mortal races in Azeroth (the literal World of Warcraft), and they are distinguished by a commitment to nobility and honor.  The Horde, meanwhile, is made up of Orcs, Trolls, Goblins, etc.  These two posters tease the weapons of each faction, and at Comic-Con we learned that the film will be an origin story that delves into how Azeroth fell into conflict between the orcs and humans, ie. the Alliance and the Horde.

Posters for HELLBOY 3, SLEEPY HOLLOW 2, FIGHT CLUB 2, and More from the “Sequel” Art Exhibit Imagine Films That Never Happened

by     Posted 45 days ago

The “what if’s” of the movie world are unendingly fascinating when it comes to films that never got made.  Some came very close to fruition, while others never even had a chance.  The “Sequel” art exhibit in Los Angeles puts a spin on “what if’s” as 40 artists imagine movie sequels that were never made, and today we have two exclusive pieces from the exhibit to debut: posters for Sleepy Hollow 2 and Hellboy 3.  They’re incredibly well-made, and they serve as a fun teaser of what might have been if these films had come to fruition.  While a sequel to Tim Burton’s swell Sleepy Hollow wasn’t really in the cards, Guillermo del Toro has very much tried to get a third Hellboy movie off the ground.  Though this poster has nothing to do with del Toro’s intended vision, it’s a neat piece of artwork regardless.

Check out the posters for Sleepy Hollow 2 and Hellboy 3 after the jump, along with other posters from the exhibit including Fight Club 2, Blade Runner 2, The Rocketeer 2, and more.  The “Sequel” art exhibit will be held at Iam8bit in Los Angeles on Thursday, November 13th from 7pm-11pm PST.

by     Posted 47 days ago

We here at Collider are happy to debut a collection of character posters from director A.J. Edwards’ drama The Better Angels.  The film spans three years of young Abraham Lincoln’s (Braydon Denney) childhood, as it explores how his family and hardships shaped him into the man he would become.  It marks the feature debut of Edwards, who previously worked as an editor and second-unit director on some of Terrence Malick’s films.  Malick is a producer on The Better Angels, and judging by the trailers we’ve seen from the black-and-white drama thus far, his influence on Edwards is significant.  These new posters introduce the film’s major characters, including Jason Clarke as Tom Lincoln, Diane Kruger as Sarah Lincoln, Brit Marling as Nancy Lincoln, and Wes Bentley as Mr. Crawford.

Check out the Better Angels posters after the jump.  The Better Angels opens in limited release on November 7th and will be expanding to select theaters nationwide on 11/14 and 11/21.

Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton Go Head-to-Head in Latest EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS Posters

by     Posted 55 days ago

Come December 5th, Christian Bale’s Moses and Joel Edgerton’ Ramses will go head-to-head in Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings, and these latest posters for the film really play up the conflicting tactics of the two.  Even though they grew up together, almost like brothers, Ramses is the one who’s born to rule Egypt whereas Moses is destined to lead 600,000 slaves out of the region.

Similar to just about every single promo we’ve seen from the film thus far, including the first set of posters, the visuals here are bold and striking, but we’ve still got a little over a month to go until we find out if the heavy eyeliner and flashy armor translate into a worthy retelling of the story – although I am very hopeful Scott pulled it off.  Hit the jump to check out the new Exodus: Gods and Kings posters.  The film also stars Ben KingsleyAaron PaulJohn Turturro and Sigourney Weaver.
