Andy Bernard’s schedule book is pretty packed this summer. Ed Helms, one of the lead actors on The Office, will film two movies before returning to his desk at Dunder Mifflin this fall; he’ll join Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler in They Came Together before filming a cameo in We’re The Millers.  Both of these will finish before filming for The Office begins on July 30. Hit the jump for more on these two films.

Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis Circling Pot Smuggling Comedy WE’RE THE MILLERS

Horrible Bosses stars Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis may be reuniting for another comedy.  Deadline reports that Aniston is in talks to star in the comedy We’re the Millers, and Sudeikis is apparently eyeing a role.  The film centers on “a pot dealer who pulls together a fake wife and two kids to pose as an RV road-tripping family so that he can smuggle 1000 pounds of pot cross country.”  Aniston would play the wife, who’s actually a hooker, and Sudeikis is circling the pot smuggler role.  The pic was written by Wedding Crashers scribes Bob Fisher and Steve Faber, and Rawson Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Story) is set to direct.

Aniston is an incredibly gifted comedic actress when given the right material (see: Horrible Bosses) and Sudeikis has crackerjack charisma, so I’d love to see these two team up on this project.  The tone is described as a “warped Vacation”, and Harry Potter producer David Heyman is producing alongside Happy Walters, Vince Newman and Tucker Tooley.

DODGEBALL’s Rawson Thurber to Rewrite THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY for Universal

Dodgeball writer/director Rawson Thurber (most recently, co-writer Tower Heist) has been hired by Universal to rewrite their script for the adaptation of the Dark Horse comic The Umbrella Academy. Created by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Ba, The Umbrella Academy follows a group of seven superhero children who are adopted by millionaire inventor Reginald Hargreeves to, as he puts it, “save the world.” I was introduced to the series’ first trade paperback, Volume One: The Apocalypse Suite, as a gift a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Both it and the subsequent volume, Dallas, have a ton of action, wit, and fantastic art. Of course, this says nothing about how the eventual film may or may not turn out…
