We’re happy to host the exclusive premiere of the new red-band trailer for Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters. While the previous trailer highlighted a lot of the witch-killing action by the brother-and-sister team, this new trailer sheds a bit more light on their backstory. Hansel and Gretel are revealed to have a motive for killing witches that goes beyond just having a badass profession. We also get a few new one-liners from title stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, which are good for a laugh and great for setting the tone of the picture, one that thankfully doesn’t take itself too seriously.
From director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) comes the dark fairy tale Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, also starring Peter Stormare, Famke Janssen, Thomas Mann and Zoe Bell, which opens January 25, 2013. Hit the jump to check out the new trailer.
A new red-band trailer has gone online for writer/director John Hyams’ Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, starring Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Scott Adkins and Andrei Arlovski. This trailer leans heavily on the psychological mind-fuckery that comes with being turned into a universal soldier, but it’s equally focused on the action as well. The only downside is the intermittent blasts of seizure-inducing strobes that flicker over cast intros or quotes from movie sites. If you can get through that without experiencing an epileptic event, then you’ll be sure to enjoy the brutality of this red-band trailer. Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning is available On Demand starting October 25th with a theatrical release on November 30th. Hit the jump to watch the new trailer.

Words cannot express the horrific potential this new red-band trailer for Sinister has to scare you. Unlike the first trailer for Scott Derrickson’s upcoming horror film, no one utters a word in the red-band trailer and the effect is vastly improved. After the exhausting runs of the Saw and Paranormal Activity franchises, getting back to basics is a relief. While the premise for Sinister isn’t exactly original and continues to invoke the current “found footage” gimmick (though with a slightly new angle), it looks like it could be a truly scary film.
Sinister stars Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance and James Ransone and opens October 12th, but you can see it first by bringing an early screening to your hometown. Hit the jump to see the new red-band trailer.
If you enjoyed the five clips from director John Hillcoat’s Lawless we posted earlier today, you’re going to love this new red-band trailer. It features good old-fashioned tar and feathering, blood-letting, shoot ‘em ups and even an imposing dust storm. That all fits right at home in the Depression-era drama that follows the bootlegging Bondurant family in their backlash against the law enforcement officials who are trying to taking a cut of the profits.
Lawless, starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman, opens August 31st. Hit the jump to check out the red-band trailer.
