Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill as Superman. Rather than focusing on the action, the trailer tries to sell us on what would happen if Superman really existed on our planet and would people really accept someone with God like powers. Of course towards the end of the trailer, we get a good look at some of the big action set pieces and Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as the villain Zod. But the fact is, every big budget Hollywood movie has action. Without a strong story and characters you care about, the action means nothing. Thankfully, everything I’ve seen thus far on the Man of Steel tells me Snyder has crafted a great Superman film that will deliver everything the fans want and more. It’s easily one of my most anticipated films of 2013. Hit the jump to watch the new trailer and then be prepared to start counting down the days to June 14.
Man of Steel also stars Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe star. Man of Steel opens on June 14, 2013.
Aaron Sorkin returned to the world of television this year with HBO’s The Newsroom, and while I didn’t hate the show as much as some did, it was a far cry from the glory days of The West Wing. For those feeling nostalgic, or for the West Wing obsessed (of which I’m a card-carrying member), a video has surfaced called “Walk and Talk the Vote” which reunites a large chunk of the show’s cast. The ad is in support of Bridget Mary McCormack, a non-partisan candidate for Michigan State Supreme Court, but it touches on the importance of all non-partisan voting.
It’s great to see Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Richard Schiff, Joshua Malina, Mary McCormack, Janel Moloney, Melissa Fitzgerald and even Lily Tomlin back together, but I really would’ve loved to see Rob Lowe return and complete the “original five.” Nevertheless, hit the jump to take a trip down memory lane, and if you’ve still never seen The West Wing I highly suggest you rectify that as quickly as possible.
Warner Bros. has released two teaser trailers for director Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel and they’re awesome. While both have the same visuals and music, the Yahoo version has Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent) narration and the MSN has Russell Crowe (Jor-El). Unlike most trailers that reveal everything, I love how this is a true teaser and it’s only towards the end that you realize you’re watching a trailer for a Superman movie. Also, the way it uses music and visuals to set the mood is perfect. As I’ve said many times, Man of Steel is easily my most anticipated movie of 2013 and everything I’ve seen and learned tells me it’s going to be something special.

The new Superman movie Man of Steel has been shooting since August, so you know any casting news that surfaces tonight is for a small role. However, Variety‘s report that Richard Schiff has joined the cast as “Dr. Hamilton” may be noteworthy to fans of the comic. He is described as Superman’s “scientific advisor,” building various machinery to aid our hero’s fight against crime. The character history suggests the role has the potential to grow larger, perhaps supported by the fact that director Zack Snyder secured Emmy winner and West Wing all star Schiff for what could amount to a bit part in the reboot.

New images have been released for the likely-direct-to-DVD movie Fire with Fire. The film stars Josh Duhamel as a fireman who has to take matters into his own hands when he’s threatened by a man he’s going to testify against. So how do I know this movie is going direct-to-DVD? For starters, the movie stars Bruce Willis and lately his small-budget thrillers are going to stores instead of theaters (Setup and Catch .44). Second, it co-stars 50 Cent whose last seven movies haven’t made it into theaters (as well they shouldn’t).
But hey, maybe the movie will make it to the big screen, in which case the world can once again be reminded that 50 Cent should never be in movies. Hit the jump to check out the images. Fire with Fire also stars Rosario Dawson, Richard Schiff, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
