If you like horror anthologies like V/H/S, The ABCs of Death or S-VHS, then you might want to put Sanitarium on your radar.  A new red-band trailer is now available for the picture, which features segments directed by Bryan Ramirez, Kerry Valderrama and Bryan Oritz.  Sanitarium features a trio of stories that each take place within the titular institution and focus on a different patient.  Malcolm McDowell, who narrates the trailer, appears to be the head doctor who likely connects each of the segments together.  Also starring Robert Englund, Lacey Chabert, Lou Diamond Phillips and John Glover, Sanitarium will make its world premiere on March 1st at the Miami International Film Festival.  Hit the jump to watch the red-band trailer.

A trailer for Activision and Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops expansion pack, Call of the Dead has been released. While it’s not exactly our usual news story, the level looks pretty damn cool. Inspired by zombie Godfather George A. Romero, the level features playable versions of Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Danny Trejo (Machete), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and Romero himself.

Hit the jump to check out Call of the Dead. The new map pack is set to become available for Xbox 360 users on May 3rd.

Here’s a quartet of TV casting updates coming right at ya. First up, EW has word that Robert Englund, the man behind the original Freddy Krueger, has signed on as a guest star on the forthcoming season of Chuck. The episode titled Chuck vs the Aisle of Terror is set to appropriately air around Halloween with Englund playing Dr Stanley Wheelwright, an evil scientist who can make your waking life a nightmare. Shouldn’t too difficult of a role for Englund to step into, and the content certainly allows plenty of opportunities for homage and jokes. Englund joins a whole slew of guest stars in Chuck’s fourth season including Linda Hamilton, Timothy Dalton, Eric Roberts, Lou Ferrigno, Dolph Lundgren and more.

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Blu-ray Review

Freddy Krueger is defined in pop culture. He’s got the sweater, the hat, the glove, the burn victim scars, and the snark. He’s crossed over so far that people who have never seen his movies know who he is, so much so that children might dressed up as him for Halloween, or – baring that – made tape-based faux-knives on their fingers. If you’re an adult it’s hard not to have heard of the guy, unless you’re Amish or something. And because of his personality, he resonates on a level that even Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees cannot: They are defined by their masks, not their behavior (perhaps because both are usually played by stuntmen). With a remake about to be released, it’s always good to go back to the first film, the film that started it all. When Fred Krueger (Robert Englund) first terrorized a bunch of teenagers in their sleep. And my review of A Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray is after the jump.
