A new trailer for director Harald Zwart’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones has gone online.  I got to check out this particular trailer at the WonderCon panel and I was impressed by the caliber and amount of action on display.  I’m sure that fans of the source material will pick up on a lot more of the mythology than a novice like myself, but it’s got a cool aesthetic that actually looks rather inviting.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, based on the Cassandra Clare novel, stars Lily Collins, Lena Headey, Robert Sheehan, Jamie Campbell Bower, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Kevin Zegers, Kevin Durand, Jared Harris and CCH Pounder. The film opens on August 23rd, 2013.  Hit the jump to view the trailer.

Michael Fassbender, Steve Coogan, and Robert Sheehan to Star in GOOD VIBRATIONS

Michael Fassbender is becoming ubiquitous so thank goodness he’s an incredible actor.  Last month, Fassbender signed on to star in Good Vibrations, which is a biopic about Belfast punk rock legend Terri Hooley. Today, ScreenDaily is reporting that Richard Dormer (Five Minutes of Heaven) will play Hooley while Steve Coogan, Bronagh Gallagher (Tamara Drewe) and Robert Sheehan will co-star.  You’re probably aware of Coogan at this point, but you need to put Sheehan on your radar.  He’s a strong dramatic presence in the Red Riding Trilogy but does a complete 180 to play the scene-stealing jackass Nathan on the British series Misfits.  There was word last month that Fassbender’s Hunger co-star Liam Cunningham would also be in the film, but ScreenDaily makes no mention of him.

The film also has a strong presence behind the camera as Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa (Cherrybomb, which also starred Sheehan as well as Rupert Grint) are directing from a script by Glenn Patterson and Colin Carberry.  Ocean’s Eleven composer David Holmes will produce and provide the score.  Filming is set to begin this summer.

Trailer for CHERRYBOMB Starring Rupert Grint

Empire has just debuted the trailer Cherrybomb starring Rupert Grint in a decidedly non-Ron Weasley role.  The film revolves around two guys (Grint and Robert Sheehan) who fall for the same girl (Kimberley Nixon) and the good times sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll can lead to before the inevitible dramatic clash where you can see Grint ready to bust out Avada Kedavra.

In all fairness, Grint looks like he’s seriously set aside his Harry Potter role, at least judging by this trailer.  The different hairstyle and accent don’t hurt.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Cherrybomb hits theaters in the UK on April 23rd.
