In case you’ve missed any of the installments of the Resident Evil franchise since its feature film inception back in 2002, we’ve got a retrospective video to get you caught up before Resident Evil: Retribution debuts in theaters September 14th.  The fifth iteration, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, follows the continuing adventures of Alice (Milla Jovovich) and resistance fighters battling against the Umbrella Corporation and the undead.  Resident Evil: Retribution also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr, Boris Kodjoe, Bingbing Li and Kevin Durand.  Hit the jump to check out the video recap.

The last round of images for Resident Evil: Retribution focused on the franchise’s star, Milla Jovovich.  This time around, we have new images of some of the supporting cast, including Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Bingbing Li and Oded Fehr.  Directed by Paul W.S. We posted a teaser trailer for the fifth installment of the Resident Evil franchise back in January, but now the first full trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution has landed.  I’ve only ever seen the first film in the series, so I’m all kinds of confused by this trailer for the fifth installment.  That said, action looks to be front and center here and I doubt Resident Evil fans will be disappointed by this trailer.  Moreover, this new film brings back at least a few cast members that perished earlier in the series so Retribution may act as sort of a throwback for diehard fans.  If you missed any of Steve’s set visit coverage, including interviews with director Paul W.S. Today at WonderCon 2012, Sony Screen Gems presented footage from their big fall release, Resident Evil: Retribution. Good move on their part as there was a huge burst of crowd support when the panel was announced. The fifth film in the series by director Paul W. S. Anderson and star Milla Jovovich features Alice’s return to the fight against the Umbrella Corporation. Also returning are some fan-favorites from Resident Evils past. Anderson and Jovovich were on hand to screen the trailer and an action sequence from the film, which promises to be the biggest yet as Resident Evil goes global. After making a small cameo in Resident Evil: Afterlife, it’s no surprise that Sienna Guillory is back as Jill Valentine in Paul W.S. Anderson‘s Resident Evil: Retribution (which arrives in theaters this September).  Also, as one of the main characters in the video games, it makes a lot of sense to have her return to the films.

Last month I got to visit the set of the fifth installment with a few other online reporters and we interviewed Guillory in between setups.  During the interview she talked about the fight scenes, what she was filming that day, Jill’s transformation since we last saw her in Apocalypse, if she thinks she’d get to be in a sixth film assuming they make it, and a lot more.  Hit the jump to either read or listen to what she had to say.

The first teaser trailer for the latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise has gone online. Resident Evil: Retribution marks the fifth entry in the popular post-apocalyptic series. This time, Alice (Milla Jovovich) continues her search across the globe for those responsible for the deadly outbreak. Things take a twist, however, when she runs into a few familiar faces.  RE5 was written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and it stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, and Li Bingbing.

On her Twitter page, Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich revealed and confirmed new details on the next film in the franchise, Resident Evil: Retribution.  Jovovich confirmed the rumor that Leon Kennedy and Barry Burton will make their first appearances in the series and they’ll be joined by Ada Wong, who appeared in the video games Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4, and The Darkside Chronicles.  Jovovich also announced that Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller), Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and K-Mart (Spencer Locke) won’t return but Sienna Guillory will reprise her role as Jill Valentine.  Shawn Roberts will also return to play the villainous Albert Wesker.  Principal photography is set to begin on October 16th.
