The popular SNL Digital Short series Laser Cats got a new installment last night featuring none other than the legendary Steven Spielberg. And with the Spielberg touch, just about everything in the short parodied the director’s most popular movies, or at least his popular popcorn movies. Don’t expect to see any Saving Private Ryan or Schindler’s List references floating around. Even though you won’t see anyone shouting “Give Us Us Free!” it’s nice that Spielberg decided to drop by and join in the Laser Cats fun even though he wasn’t promoting an upcoming movie or TV series.
Hit the jump to check out the short, which also stars Laser Cats regulars Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.

Steve Buscemi proved to be a very capable host on last night’s very funny episode of Saturday Night Live. As it turns out, the week when a major pedophilia case is in the news is a great week to have Buscemi in the troupe. But given his range, Buscemi is also suited to play the ethical Commissioner Gordon when Andy Samberg and Co. needed the character for their SNL digital short. Samberg plays Batman, paying particular attention to his ability to sneak up on on Gordon, and vanish into thin air with the same ease. The stealth jokes escalate from the basic setup to the point where… well, hit the jump to see for yourself.

Pajiba reports that Natalie Portman will produce and co-star in Best Buds, a stoner road trip comedy written by actress Jamie Denbo. The story follows “two best female friends who take a road trip to their friend’s wedding in order to save her by bringing her weed.” Pajiba says the comedy is supposed to be in the vein of Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. Does this mean Natalie Portman will fuck a giant bag of weed? Probably not. It’s only in the “vein” of Harold & Kumar.
But Best Buds is another great stride for women in Hollywood and I mean that in all seriousness. It mirrors the course of American history: women follow men in the right to vote, women follow men in making stoner comedies. This follows an interview Portman did with Elle UK Magazine [via DailyMail] last month where she said the reason she’s avoided comedies is that she only gets offered the girlfriend roles. So if you’re looking for yet another reason why Portman is awesome, she’s now got three comedies lined up, none of which have her in the girlfriend role: Best Buds, the medieval stoner comedyYour Highness, which hits theaters on October 1st), and the horror-comedy spoofPride and Prejudice and Zombies, which she will also produce through her Handsome Charlie Films banner.
And in case you’re questioning her comedy chops, I’ve included her SNL Digital Short, “Natalie Raps” after the jump.

If you aren’t a fan of Justin Timberlake on “Saturday Night Live”, you’re missing out on some funny stuff. The guy has hosted the show three times, and each episode has been one of the best of that season. Also, every episode has produced a classic sketch.
Since many of you might have missed last night’s episode, I grabbed two of the best segments off Hulu for you to watch after the jump.
The first one is a new SNL Digital Short called Motherlover. All I want to say about it is…if you saw the classic SNL short “Dick in a Box”, this is part 2! And make sure you notice who they got as guest stars.
The second video isn’t as funny as the first, but it does pertain to “Star Trek”, and I heard that might be a little popular right now. Take a look:
