A couple of new images from the upcoming horror sequel Texas Chainsaw 3D have been released.  The film is a direct sequel to the 1974 original and picks up where that film left off: a young woman has escaped the horrors of the Sawyer family and alerted authorities.  The townspeople descend on the Sawyer household and burn it to the ground, seemingly putting an end to the family’s reign of terror.  The story then jumps forward to present day where a young woman has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she didn’t know she had, and naturally things take a dark turn when she goes snooping around.  These images give us a couple of new looks at our hero, played by Alexandra Daddario, and her surely-doomed friend played by Tania Raymonde.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to settle into the holiday spirit…with Texas Chainsaw 3D. A new TV spot and trailer have popped up for the re-imagined slasher pic, though the trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of new footage. But both do showcase star Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief), so you can’t really go wrong there.

Directed by John Luessenhop (Takers), Texas Chainsaw 3D also stars Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Bill Moseley, Dan Yeager, Gunnar Hansen and Paul Rae. The film opens in 3D on January 4th. Hit the jump to check out the new TV spot and trailer.

The first trailer for Texas Chainsaw 3D has been released.  Fans of the franchise will probably be happy as they look to get exactly what they expect from this new installment.  The trailer is quick to establish who is probably going to be the first to die (a half-naked girl who appears to enjoy drugs), but doesn’t do much else to establish why this film was warranted.  Expect a lot of chainsaw-centric 3D gimmicks and a rehashing of the original storyline.  If that’s all you’re really looking for in a Texas Chainsaw movie, this trailer should be enough to whet your appetite.

Tania Raymonde Talks MTV’s DEATH VALLEY and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D

by     Posted 2 years, 354 days ago

MTV’s dark comedy series Death Valley follows the cops of the newly formed Undead Task Force, who dedicate their lives to capturing the zombies, vampires and werewolves that mysteriously descended upon the streets of California’s San Fernando Valley a year ago. Documenting each case, as well as their horrific yet comedic exploits is a daring camera crew that are as much in danger as the cops bent on keeping the streets safe from the presence of the paranormal.

During a recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, actress Tania Raymonde (who played Alex Rousseau on Lost) talked about how much she enjoys playing the kick-ass Officer Carla Rinaldi, how fun all the hardcore gore of the show is, the difficulty in keeping a straight face while filming with such funny actors, and that she would definitely love to explore the character more, for a second season. She also talked about her role in the upcoming The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, that she was a fan of the original film, and how cool it was to get to work with some of the original cast members, who return for the first time in the history of the franchise. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Even if it’s lacking in every other discernible category, director John Luessenhop’s (Takers) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D shouldn’t have any shortage of attractive female leads. Less than a week removed from making Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief) the first official member of its cast, the pic is now adding Lost‘s Tania Raymonde as well. Deadline reports that Raymonde will play the role of Nikki, a spunky small-town girl who is best friends with Daddario’s character, Heather.

Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan co-wrote the film which takes place following the events of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original. Production on Chainsaw 3D is set to begin in Louisiana later this month. Nu Image and Lionsgate will release the pic on October 5th, 2012. In addition to her work on Lost and now Chainsaw 3D, Raymonde also stars in MTV’s upcoming horror/comedy series Death Valley which is scheduled to premiere on August 29th.
