FilmDistrict has released the CinemaCon teaser poster for Spike Lee‘s adaptation of Oldboy. Steve previously snapped a photo of the poster while at CinemaCon, but this is a high-quality version. For those unfamiliar with the story, it centers on a man (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped for mysterious reasons, and is released twenty years later with no explanation. Once free, he goes on a mission to find his captor and take revenge. The hash marks on the poster are a clever and subtle way of showing the twenty years of captivity for Brolin’s character.

We’re less than twenty-four hours away from the premiere of the first trailer for Iron Man 3. In the build up to see Tony Stark crack wise, and blast off in new armor, Disney has been releasing new images and now the first poster for the flick. Like the first official set photo from the movie, the new poster is all about the many armors of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), and a hint at the latest one to come: an armor that Tony can summon at will rather than having to suit up. Putting on a suit is so 2008.
Hit the jump to check ou the poster. The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, Guy Pearce, and Ben Kingsley. Iron Man 3 opens in 3D on May 3, 2013.

Back in June, we saw a teaser banner for Jose Padilha‘s upcoming RoboCop remake at a 2012 License Expo. Today, a high-quality version of the licensing banner has gone online. I think the image is a close-up of the suit, but I have no idea where on the suit the logo is meant to be. If I had to guess, I’d say top of the thigh, maybe? Possibly? It would be better if the teaser poster gave a better sense of the suit’s contours, although maybe keeping the suit under wraps might be a good idea considering the negative reaction to the leaked set photos. Personally, I don’t have an opinion on set photo of the suit since A) it may only be one of multiple suits Murphy wears in the movie, B) it’s out of context, and C) it may be altered in post-production.
Hit the jump to check out the licensing banner. The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, and Jackie Earle Haley. RoboCop opens August 9, 2013.

The first poster for Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln has gone online. It’s a simple poster, but I like it. It does a good job of conveying that Daniel Day-Lewis has done what he always does: disappear into a role. If we needed him to pose for a new $5 bill, he could do it. Hopefully, this poster signals that we’re about to get a trailer for the film.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film also stars Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, David Oyelowo, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace, and Jared Harris. Lincoln opens November 16th.

Red 2 doesn’t even start filming until the spring, but a teaser poster for the film has gone online. The first Red felt like an “almost” movie. It could have been great, and it had the right cast, but direct Robert Schwentke‘s action felt a little lethargic and the script never quite hit all of its jokes. Screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber are back to rewrite the script, and now Dean Parisot is in the director’s chair, so hopefully the sequel will be an improvement. The film will also bring back Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, and Helen Mirren plus throw in some valuable new additions like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee. There’s also the possibility that Anthony Hopkins and Neal McDonough might sign on, so there’s definitely a strong cast in the works for the sequel.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. Red 2 is set to open on August 2, 2013.

The world premiere of The Avengers is tonight, but let’s not forget that we’ve also got a brand new Quentin Tarantino film to look forward to later this year. We recently got a look at Christoph Waltz in costume by way of some set photos, and now the first teaser poster for the film may or may not be on the web. It’s apparently only the Spanish poster, but it’s a great design nonetheless and certainly reminiscent of something Tarantino would sign off on. There’s no official confirmation that this poster is real, but we’ll be sure to update the article if it turns out to be a fake. For those unaware, the film stars Jamie Foxx as an escaped slave who teams up with a German bounty hunter (Waltz) to rescue his wife from an evil plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).
Hit the jump to check out the official/unofficial first teaser poster. The film also stars Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Garrett Dillahunt, Walton Goggins, RZA, M.C. Gainey, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, Tom Savini, and Sacha Baron Cohen. Django Unchained opens on December 25th. [Update: We've confirmed that this is the teaser poster. We've added a larger version after the jump]

A teaser poster for The Bourne Legacy has gone online and it’s a strong contender for Dumbest Tagline of 2012. The tagline: “Prepare for the Unexpected”. Really, Poster? “Prepare for the Unexpected.” How do you propose I go about doing that? Plastic tarps and duct tape? Buy up bottled water? What do you want from me, teaser poster. Also, this poster looks so bland that it might be a promo poster rather than something Universal’s actually going to put up in theaters.
Hit the jump to prepare for an expected poster. The film stars Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, and Edward Norton. The Bourne Legacy opens August 3rd. In a related story, we’ve update the first image from the movie with a hi-res version. Click here to check it out the image. [Update: Universal has informed us that this is not the official one-sheet for the film and has asked us to take the poster down. We'll of course bring you the actual poster for the film once it's released.]

A couple days we showed you the debut trailer and promo posters for The Expendables 2. I didn’t watch the trailer, but I assume it’s a refined costume drama in the vein of Emma. Either that or macho ass-kicking featuring genre-favorite action stars. A new poster leads more towards the latter as we see Sylvester Stallone stoically wondering what scared the number “2″ so badly.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film also stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Expendables 2 opens August 17, 2012. [Update: We've been provided with the hi-res version of the poster, which is now included after the jump.]

We’re getting two Abraham Lincoln movies next year. One is from Steven Spielberg and focuses on the last four months of Lincoln’s life. It’s based on Doris Kearns Goodwin‘s acclaimed non-fiction book Team of Rivals. The other, directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted), is about Lincoln fighting vampires because that’s how silly mash-ups work. It’s based on the book Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith. A lenticular poster has debuted for Bekmambetov’s movie. Because the poster is lenticular, the scene will change from day to night as you pass by. It lets the viewer know that Abraham Lincoln spent a lot of time sitting in his favorite chair with his trusty axe by his side. Take that, Historical Accuracy.
Hit the jump to check out the poster(s). The film stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Alan Tudyk, Jimmi Simpson, and Rufus Sewell. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22, 2012.

As you may have noticed, summer 2012 movies are getting marketed like crazy as audiences head to the multiplex over the holidays. We’ve recently had at least one trailer every day this week for a summer film, and posters usually come along with the package. We haven’t gotten a trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus (or anything beyond these images), but a poster for the film may have gone online. Collider reader John sent us a link to a snapped photo of what could be the film’s teaser poster. It looks legit, especially since there’s no MPAA rating on the bottom. Fakes usually carry that even though the film hasn’t come close to being screened and rated by the MPAA.
If it is the poster, it’s serviceable. There’s nothing to imply the connection to Alien (or Alien‘s DNA), but the poster lets you know it’s sci-fi and the movie arrives June 8, 2012. I can’t make out the tagline, but we’ll update the story when the official version is release. Hit the jump to check out the poster. The 3D film stars Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, and Guy Pearce. [Update: The poster was the real deal. You can check out the official, hi-res version after the jump.]

Last week, we showed you the new teaser poster for The Amazing Spider-Man. Sony has now sent us a hi-res, un-watermarked version. The reboot isn’t so much “The Untold Story” (Peter Parker doesn’t get bitten by a radioactive hobo) as much as “The Same Story with a New Twist”. Director Marc Webb has promised a grittier, darker Spider-Man story, and judging from what was presented at Comic-Con, that take is basically, “With great power, comes great responsibility, but what would you do if you never had any power before?” It’s a new way to come at the Spidey credo, and while I will always wonder what would’ve been with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4, I’m willing to give Webb’s take a shot.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Sally Field, and Martin Sheen. The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3, 2012.

With all of the momentum that Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises has been gaining around these parts the past few days, it’s only fitting that Warner Bros. would continue to fuel the fire by sending over a new Bane teaser poster from the pic. Given that the film is still seven months away from release, I would imagine we’ll be seeing plenty more teaser one-sheets pop-up (ala The Dark Knight). In the meantime, this new sheet in addition to the original teaser poster from the film should be enough to tide me over.
Check out the new poster after the jump. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman, and Cillian Murphy. The film hits theaters on July 20th, 2012. Also, in case you missed them, be sure to check out our spoiler-free recap of the film’s six-minute IMAX prologue and the film’s initial viral marketing campaign.

In April, Drew Goddard‘s The Cabin in the Woods finally found distribution. The movie was set to be released by MGM, but then the studio had a financial meltdown and the horror film (co-written by Joss Whedon) became trapped in limbo. Nothing is known about the film other than the vague synopsis, which claims the horror flick will turn the Cabin-in-the-Woods sub-genre inside-out. Judging by this new teaser poster, that description may be literal. It’s an eye-catching image, but I prefer the taglines from the 2009 series of teaser posters.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchinson, Fran Kanz, Jesse Williams, Bradley Whitford, and Richard Jenkins. The Cabin in the Woods opens April 13, 2012. [Update: We've been sent the high resolution version of the poster, which is now included after the jump.]

Last week, we brought you a couple photos of the Men in Black 3 teaser posters that were posted inside and outside movie theaters over Thanksgiving weekend. Sony has now released hi-res versions of those posters online. As far as eye-catching posters go, they’re not bad. I’m still not interested in the movie, but that’s mostly because of the the re-writes, which were due to the boneheaded decision to start with an incomplete script. We previously reported that the story revolved around Agent J (Will Smith) going back in time to save a young Agent K (Josh Brolin) and avert a world-ending disaster, but after all the script changes I’m not sure that’s still accurate. Smith and Brolin are still in the movie (as are Tommy Lee Jones, Jemaine Clement, Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn, and Johnny Knoxville), and I’m going to assume the time-travel element is still in place, but I’m not comfortable relying on that old logline.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. Men in Black 3 opens in 3D on May 25, 2012.

The Farrelly Brothers’ almost have almost reached the finish line with their long-in-development passion-project, an adaptation of The Three Stooges. The project was once a big-budget affair with Jim Carrey, Sean Penn, and Benecio Del Toro set to play the titular knuckleheads. Then the project fell apart and looked pretty much dead until the Farrellys were able to resurrect it with far less expensive actors. The movie now stars Sean Hayes as Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, and Will Sasso as Curly, and we now have a glimpse of the actors in character (above) plus a silhouette poster bearing the tagline “Just Say Moe.” You can’t really go wrong with a pun based on an outdated anti-drug slogan.
Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film also stars Jane Lynch, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Hudson, and Larry David. The Three Stooges opens April 4, 2012.
