Yesterday, we saw the first images from Disney’s 53rd animated feature film, Frozen. The story centers on a young dreamer named Anna (Kristen Bell) who teams up with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), an extreme mountain man, to find her sister Elsa, the Queen of Arrendelle (Idina Menzel) who has accidentally trapped their kingdom in eternal winter. No one will know any of that from this teaser, which centers on Kristoff’s reindeer/steed Sven and the comic-relief snowman, Olaf (Josh Gad). I understand that the movie isn’t out until November, and there’s plenty of time to get to the plot stuff, but it’s still not the best idea to look like you’re aping Ice Age (silent supporting characters in a cold environment comically go after an inanimate object).
Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer. Frozen opens in 3D on November 27th. [Update: We've added the film's poster to the article as well.]

When it comes to my TV viewing, there Breaking Bad, and then there’s everything else. Television’s best drama is coming to a close, and all the fans are hoping that creator Vince Gilligan is going to stick the landing. Looking at everything that’s come before, I have full confidence that the show will finish strong. I’ve started re-watching the series, and I’m absolutely amazed at how much the characters have changed over the last five seasons, which is even more incredible when you consider that in the world of the show, we’ve only seen as far as two years ahead (the show starts on Walt’s 50th birthday). Sadly, as a new teaser trailer and poster tell us, the show can’t go on forever, or it can’t go on and maintain the level of quality fans have come to expect.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and poster. Breaking Bad returns for its final episodes on August 11th.

The first teaser trailer has been released for Greg Mottola‘s HBO film, Clear History, which stars an unrecognizable Larry David as “Nathan, a hipster marketing exec who sells all his shares at a start-up over a fight with his boss (Jon Hamm), only to miss out on billions when the company’s new product—an electric car—becomes a smashing success.” The movie was largely improvised, and also stars Bill Hader, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes, Danny McBride, Michael Keaton, Phillip Michael Hall, JB Smoove, and Amy Ryan. Mottola tells EW the movie picks up ten years after Nathan’s disastrous mistake, and he has changed his name and gone incognito. The Superbad director adds that the character is loosely based off an employee mentioned in Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer and first image. Clear History premieres on HBO in August.

The first teaser trailer for True Blood has hit the Internet. While the show hasn’t recently been receiving the critical acclaim that had with its first couple of seasons, it’ll be interesting to see where the show goes now that Alan Ball is no longer the showrunner. The midseason filming departure of Mark Hudis may not bode very well for the upcoming season, but the trailer itself does present an eerie and unsettling vibe from the fallout of the season five finale that could prove worth exploring.
The shorter episode order for this season could be HBO’s way of weening off of True Blood. Series star Alexander Skarsgard has certainly used the show as a launching pad for his career in film, and Anna Paquin has been successfully navigating features since her Oscar-winning childhood debut. True Blood may be able to squeeze out a seventh season, but I don’t personally see it moving beyond that. With the premiere of the sixth season of the HBO show coming up on June 16th, expect more teasers and promos to be coming throughout the spring. Hit the jump to check out the trailer.

HBO has released the teaser trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s final film before retirement, Behind the Candelabra. The film stars Michael Douglas as the famous musician Liberace and Matt Damon as his lover Scott Thorson. The story centers on the tempestuous relationship between the two throughout their secretive five-year love affair that began in 1977. Judging by the teaser trailer, there’s a fairly cheeky tone, which isn’t too surprising when you consider Liberace’s flamboyant personality and charm.

Fringe is over, but that doesn’t mean you have to leave scene-stealer John Noble behind. A teaser trailer has been released for the short film Friend, which stars Noble with a script he co-produced with his daughter Jess Noble, who wrote the script. It has no relation to Fringe, but the show’s director of photographer David Geddes worked as the director and cinematographer on Friend. As you can see from the teaser, it looks like a fairly intense short with a strong performance by Noble.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser. Friend is currently going out on the festival circuit.

If you missed out on the Sony Pictures panels for Carrie and Evil Dead at New York Comic-Con, it’s okay. Sony Pictures live-streamed the events, and when it came to the trailers, those eventually arrived online. They’re already released the one for Carrie, and tomorrow they’ll be releasing the one for Evil Dead. Thankfully, the Evil Dead teaser was the best footage I saw at NYCC, and I’m looking forward to the reaction it will receive when it hits online tomorrow. Sony has released a sneak peek at the teaser because teasers for teasers are the awful marketing trend that won’t go away.
Hit the jump to check out the sneak peek of the trailer. The film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore. Evil Dead opens April 12, 2013.

As we’ve previously reported, Hasbro’s LEGO-style toy line KRE-O has the license for Star Trek. The company will be premiering their upcoming playsets at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, but today Hasbro has released an image of the KRE-O version of the U.S.S. Enterprise. I’m not sure how many pieces it has, but it’s hopefully one of those sets that takes an entire afternoon to build (if not longer). Hasbro has also released a teaser trailer that’s almost a shot-for-shot remake of the original movie’s teaser trailer, but with KRE-O blocks. There will also be a KRE-O Star Trek digital short produced by Bad Robot at Comic-Con.
Hit the jump to check out the image, teaser trailer, and press release. The 2012 San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 12 – 15th. The KRE-O toys will hit shelves in spring 2013 to coincide with the release of Star Trek 2, which opens May 17, 2013.

Though Woody Allen has head overseas for his more recent film ventures, the filmmaker and comedian loves New York City. However, it doesn’t seem like Louis C.K. is all that fond of his residence there, but this new promo for the third season of his FX comedy series Louie still takes a cue from Allen’s opening credits for Manhattan. Using a track that sounds a little bit like the classic stylings of George Gershwin and some beautiful shots of The Big Apple, it seems like another fitting tribute to the city right to the very end. You’ll see what I mean when you watch the new teaser after the jump along with the aforementioned credit sequence for your reference. The third season of Louie premieres on June 28th.

A 45-second teaser trailer for the Total Recall teaser trailer has gone online. I was hoping we could get a 15-second teaser for the 45-second teaser, and maybe even a 5-second teaser for the 15-second teaser, but maybe one day that highly possible dream will become a reality. However, this teaser-teaser does provide the first footage from Len Wiseman‘s remake of Paul Verhoeven‘s 1990 sci-fi film. As you can see, the movie is jam-packed with cars from Demolition Man and Cerberus troops from Mass Effect. There are also explosions.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser for the teaser trailer along with the official synopsis. The movie stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, John Cho, Ethan Hawke, and Bryan Cranston. The full trailer premieres on April 1st on ABC during the Celtics-Heat game. An extended trailer will then premiere on Apple. Total Recall opens August 3rd.

The teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has gone online. There’s really not much here other than Vampire Bella (Kristen Stewart). I assume there will be explanation for why her eyes are red rather than gold like the Cullens (or is that the whole newborn thing from Eclipse?) I’m also a tad confused when she says her life had been “ordinary” up until she became a vampire. Considering her love interests, enemies, and the culture she saw before becoming a vampire, I’m not sure how her life was “ordinary”. The movies make no sense now.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer. The film also stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Billy Burke, Rami Malek, and Maggie Grace. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 opens November 16th.

A NSFW international teaser trailer has gone online for David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis. The teaser provides the first look at the tone of the film, and more importantly, Robert Pattinson‘s performance in it. In Cosmopolis, Pattinson plays a newlywed billionaire who ends up losing his bride and his billions in a single day. Even when Pattinson isn’t doing Twilight, he’s hewed towards romantic dramas with Remember Me and Water for Elephants. However, as Twilight draws to a close, his upcoming films will perhaps provide him with the necessary escape velocity to get away from Edward Cullen. In Bel Ami, he plays a character who fucks his way up the social ladder of 1890s Paris, and in Cosmopolis, his character purposely shoots himself in the hand. I can take or leave Bel Ami, but Cosmopolis looks pretty great, and I’m eager to see Pattinson break free of his famous mopey vampire.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The film, based on the novel by Don DeLillo, also stars Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric. Cosmopolis will likely open sometime this year. [Update: We've added a new poster for the film after the jump.]

You brought this on yourself, fandoms. If you hadn’t stood for needing to see every teeny-tiny second of new footage on movies you were excited for, we wouldn’t be inundated with this awful new trend of doing teasers for trailers. It’s an ad for an ad. And we can just keep going down this rabbit hole. We can do a 10-second teaser for a 20-second teaser, and a 5-second teaser for that 10-second teaser.
So after the jump you can find a 12-second teaser for the teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The full teaser trailer goes online on March 26th. The movie opens November 16th.

Universal has released the teaser trailer and poster for Despicable Me 2. There aren’t any plot details or even footage from the film, but that doesn’t mean the marketing campaign can’t begin 15 months before the movie opens. So how do you sell a movie without the movie? The minions! By being adorable, the minions can sell anything. Granted, this is really more of an announcement trailer, although I have no idea why they’re “singing” the Beach Boys’ “Barbara Ann”. I can’t remember if that was a thing in the first movie or not.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser trailer and poster. The film features the voice talents of Steve Carell, Jason Segel, and Al Pacino. Despicable Me 2 opens in 3D on July 3, 2013.

The teaser trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has gone online. The film re-imagines our 16th President as a statesman by day and a vampire slayer by night. This trailer proves three things: 1) Johnny Cash‘s reading of Revelations 6:1 (from “The Man Comes Around”) can dignify just about anything; 2) Abraham Lincoln knew axe-fu; 3) Fox is selling this movie as totally serious. Not a hint of a joke. Also, the action goes by so fast, that you can’t really appreciate most of the moves or even tell what’s happening. Ultimately, audiences will look at this teaser and think, “That’s not a real movie, right?”
The film stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Alan Tudyk, Jimmi Simpson, and Rufus Sewell. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens in 3D on June 22nd.
