
On the new SyFy television series Being Human, adapted from the popular British series of the same name, actor Mark Pellegrino plays Bishop, a powerful vampire who is over 300 years old. He is the leader of a vicious vampire legion in Boston, but no amount of power will satisfy him until he lures Aidan (Sam Witwer), who has sworn off killing humans for blood, back into his fold of thirsty blood hunters.
While at the SyFy portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Mark Pellegrino, who is best known for playing Jacob on Lost and Lucifer on Supernatural, talked about the appeal of this new character, his decision not to watch the original series before developing his role, finding the balance between the darkness and the humor on the series, and how close the cast has become. The popular FX drama Justified, based on the works of crime novelist Elmore Leonard, returns for a second season starting on February 9th. Fresh off the epic gun battle that concluded the first season, Season 2 finds Bo Crowder (M.C. Gainey) dead and the Crowder family’s criminal grip on Harlan County broken. Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) must now face off against the criminal organizations that are looking to fill the void, and he finds himself entangled, once again, with Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins).
During the FX portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, show star Timothy Olyphant talked about how good it feels to receive the praise of Elmore Leonard, who created this complex character, how much he enjoys everything about his work on Justified, his new title as a producer, and how much he thinks the series has grown in Season 2. He also talked about the experience of working on I Am Number Four, due out in theaters on February 18th, and said that contrary to previously announced reports, he is not testing for the lead role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. On the sci-fi drama V, actress Morena Baccarin plays Anna, the beautiful leader of the Visitors and a Queen born to rule the advanced alien species whose spaceships have arrived on Earth and positioned themselves over 29 cities around the world. To the people of Earth, she appears to be charming and peaceful, as she offers gifts and invites humans to live on her ships under the guise of friendship, but in reality, Anna is cruel and cunning, ruling the Visitors with an iron fist and manipulating humanity in horrifying and unpredictable ways. No one knows her true intentions on Earth – not the Fifth Column resistence, and not even her daughter, Lisa (Laura Vandervoort) – which makes her all the more dangerous.
While at the party to celebrate the ABC portion of the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Morena Baccarin talked about working with original V star Jane Badler this season, the continuing changes in her character, the addition of Marc Singer to the cast and the love she still receives from fans of Joss Whedon’s Firefly, on which she played Inara Serra.
