First Trailer for THE GIANT MECHANICAL MAN Starring Jenna Fischer, Chris Messina, Malin Akerman and Topher Grace

by     Posted 2 years, 264 days ago

The first trailer is now online for Lee Kirk’s quirky romantic comedy The Giant Mechanical Man. It tells of the oft under-represented love story of a zoo worker and a street performer who are both seeking meaning in this crazy world of ours. The Giant Mechanical Man stars Jenna Fischer, Chris Messina, Malin Akerman, Lucy Punch and a hilariously douchey Topher Grace. You can see what Fischer had to say about the movie, which was directed by her husband, in this interview here. Hit the jump to check out the synopsis and the trailer.

Jenna Fischer Exclusive Interview HALL PASS; Updates on THE OFFICE and THE GIANT MECHANICAL MAN

by     Posted 3 years, 300 days ago

In Hall Pass, the latest comedy from the Farrelly Brothers, Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Grace (Christina Applegate) decide to give their husbands a hall pass, granting them one week of freedom to do indulge their fantasies and do whatever they want outside of their marriages, with no questions asked. To make things fair, the women assume the same freedom to explore the single life, leading to complications that neither couple could have expected.  For seven seasons now, actress Jenna Fischer has been winning over fans and critics alike as Pam Beesley on NBC’s hit comedy The Office. And, even though this will be the last season for show star Steve Carell, and all of the actors have only one season left on their contracts, she definitely sees the show going beyond that, if things continue down the creative path they are currently on.

During an exclusive interview with Collider, done at the film’s press day, Jenna Fischer talked about how she got involved with Hall Pass, the importance of chemistry in comedy, and how much she enjoyed working with this cast. She also talked about her upcoming unusual romantic comedy The Giant Mechanical Man, written and directed by her husband Lee Kirk, and what fans of The Office can expect once Steve Carell leaves the show. Check out what she had to say after the jump:

Casting Call: Chris Colfer to Be STRUCK BY LIGHTNING; Punch, Odenkirk, and Sommer Join THE GIANT MECHANICAL MAN

by     Posted 4 years, 12 days ago

We have some quick casting stories for you this morning.  First up, Glee star Chris Colfer is set to make his big screen debut in the indie coming-of-age comedy Struck by Lightning.  Producer David Permut (Youth in Revolt) tells Variety that the script (which Colfer wrote) “captures the spirit of movies penned by the late John Hughes.”  Permut plans to attach a director and a cast before putting the film out to financiers next year.  I’m interested to see how this project develops as Colfer is one of the true breakout stars of Glee with his incredible voice and knack for comedy as well as drama.

Hit the jump for news regarding Lucy Punch (Dinner for Schmucks), Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad), and Rich Sommer (Mad Men) joining The Giant Mechanical Man.
