THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH International Trailer Reveals More Creepy Bumps in the Night at the Eel Marsh House

Half the fun of The Woman in Black was seeing what Daniel Radcliffe could do post-Harry Potter so when The Woman in Black: Angel of Death was announced and Radcliffe wasn’t attached, I couldn’t help but think, what’s the point?  Woman in Black is a fine film, but there’s nothing particularly mind blowing about the Eel Marsh legend and, sure enough, the Woman in Black: Angel of Death trailers have failed to impress.  However, we just got a brand new international edition and it actually suggests that the sequel might have some potential.

Whereas the previous promos are rather thin and reliant on jump scares, this one offers up more story details.  The London blitz actually serves as an interesting backdrop and is a believable reason for why anyone would stay at that creepy old house.  Hit the jump to check out The Woman in Black: Angel of Death international trailer for yourself.  The movie stars Phoebe Fox, Helen McCrory and Jeremy Irvine, and is due in theaters on January 20th, 2015.

New Teaser for THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH Introduces the Title Character

I remember being a little underwhelmed by The Woman in Black when I first saw it in 2012.  It was a well made movie, but fell firmly into the category of “not my thing” despite the fact that I’m a huge horror nut.  Most fans disagreed with me though and the movie made an impressive sum of money on a relatively small budget.  If you saw the ending of that film, it will come as no surprise that Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t return in the sequel (or does he) but it looks like the atmosphere – a unanimous high point – from the original has arrived intact.

The new clip is much better than the first teaser we saw a few months back.  It’s still brief, but it actually has some incident in it.  Hit the jump to check out the new teaser for The Woman in Black: Angel of Death.  Helen McCrory and Jeremy Irvine star in the film directed by Tom Harper.  It opens in theaters on January 20th, 2015.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH Trailer Goes to Dark Places

The Woman in Black opened surprisingly big back in 2012, scoring $20.9 million during its opening weekend and then going on to lock in a grand total of $127.7 million worldwide.  With a $15 million production budget, the film clearly earned itself a sequel, but what’s another Woman in Black without Daniel Radcliffe?  Helen McCrory and Jeremy Irvine are certainly quality talent as well, but how can you expect them to draw the same crowd?  Then again, Radcliffe’s latest, What If, wound up being the fourth-lowest nationwide debut of the year.

Anyway, the reason we’re talking The Woman in Black is because a teaser for the sequel, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death, just dropped, and it’s a little underwhelming.  Hit the jump to check out The Woman in Black: Angel of Death trailer for yourself.

A first look at the Woman in Black sequel Angel of Death has surfaced by way of a promo poster.  Steve walked the floor of AFM earlier today and snapped some shots of the posters and images on display, and this eerie one for the horror follow-up seems perfectly timed for Halloween.  We know that Angel of Death will pick up forty years after the events of the first film, where Eel Marsh House has been seized by the government during World War II.  Naturally, the sudden arrival of a group of evacuated children awakens the house’s darkest inhabitant.  This image teases the children’s arrival as well as the return of the titular Woman in Black.

Hit the jump to check out the promo poster.  The Woman in Black: Angel of Death will be directed by Tom Harper.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe may be headed towards another appearance following his leading role in The Woman in Black in the follow-up film titled Angels of Death. However, Hammer CEO Simon Oakes has stated that a second film in the series would be more of a continuation rather than a traditional sequel.

Woman in Black author Susan Hill reportedly has an outline for what happened nearly half a century after the events of the first story, which Oakes said they would plan to follow.  For more on the project and Radcliffe’s potential role, hit the jump.
