Today we got our hands on pictures of theater standees for a trio of upcoming movies that we thought might be of interest to you. The first features your favorite fiery Marvel superhero announcing Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The second features Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum double-gunning it on behalf of 21 Jump Street. The last is the standee version of the new Men in Black 3 posters that recreate the faces of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones with a couple dozen MIB logos.

Earlier tonight, I visited an AMC Theater in New York City and noticed new standees for Star Wars: Episode One – The Phantom Menace 3D, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, and Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast 3D. Like every Star Wars fan, I wish George Lucas had started his post conversion crusade with Episode 4 and continued in the original order of release. But it’s pretty clear he doesn’t listen to the fans and he’s going to do what he wants to do.
Saying that, the Titanic 3D footage that James Cameron recently showed has absolutely sold me on post conversion when it’s done slowly and with tremendous care. While I’m sure The Phantom Menace 3D is going to look fantastic, the post conversion isn’t going to make the film any better. However, while I don’t care about the new trilogy in 3D, I’d love to see Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back in 3D, so I do hope enough fans turn out to justify more conversions. Hit the jump for the displays, and let me know in the comments if you plan on seeing The Phantom Menace in 3D.
